"As an Architect, I have an appreciation for craftsmanship and quality work (which sadly seems to be lacking in this day and age). Not the case with
Columbus Wood Flooring Experts Provider Name Locked
(who is the owner and the one who actually does the work). He is one of those rare individuals who cares more about doing it right than simply getting it done, getting paid, and moving on to the next job. I commented to my wife that it was as if he was working on his own floor, in his own house.
We had all agreed on a stain sample we thought would work, but once he started applying it in a closet he was concerned that it may have been slightly darker than we anticipated. He stoped what he was doing and called us in to take another look. We all agreed lighter would be better. He re-sanded the closet (no additional charge) and the entire floor turned out beautiful. Couldn't be happier. I have two more bedrooms and a hallway/stair that I plan to have him back to do. In fact, will probably have him come back to re-do the entire living room/dining room/kitchen hardwoods that were done previously by others.
I would have absolutely no qualms about using him again or reccommending him to my neighbors.
Great work at a fair and competative price.

"The final result was incredible! The floors look great and it's nearly impossible to tell where the old flooring stops and the new flooring begins. They were fast, reliable and always maintained great communication. They may have been a little more expensive but when you're working with a family run company that cares about your home, it is well worth the money. Highly recommended!

"Everyone told me Dieble's was the best....and they were right. First of all

installers are all full time employees. Nothing was contracted out. We purchased a 1920's house with the floors in terrible shape. The kitchen had outdated tile. Dieble's was able to match up the new wood in kitchen with the original flooring. The crew removed all interior doors and replaced when finished. Very little dust and the repairs (broken wood strips, holes, etc,) were done perfectly. New quarter round was painted and replaced after floors were finished.
I highly recommend!!

"Chaz was very knowledgeable, he spent plenty of time with me discussing the project during the estimate and was the only one of the three Angie's List companies I spoke with that mentioned ripping up shoe molding prior to sanding, and then replacing it afterwards, which I was happy I did. Chaz also had no problem discussing how to repair a couple of damaged areas, and

did a good job matching new wood to the existing. I chose satin finish water-based polyurethane based on Chaz's recommendation as I have pet birds and was concerned about fumes; it looks great and the smell quickly faded.
It wasn't the lowest estimate I received, but worth it, with a 5% Angie's List member discount. It did take over a week for Chaz to return my initial call requesting an estimate, but he did return it eventually. They are a small company which is kept very busy due to good reviews here on Angie's List, so expect a bit of a delay. Once I had the estimate and decided to have them do the work they were able to schedule it for the next week, though I'm sure that's not always possible. Excellent communication including daily calls when they would be there and what they would be doing, one of the best contractors I've worked with in that respect. Overall I highly recommend them.

is very professional, friendly and fair. They kept the area enclosed so dust emissions around the house was minimal; almost non-existent. And they cleaned up daily.

took time to explain the processes, and to answer my questions. He showed us samples of stain colors and explained how it would look in the long-run, so we knew how to choose the finishes. The job ended up costing a bit less than what he had originally estimated. I definitely recommend this company.

came and gave a much lower quote than the other provider we contacted, and he was much less of a "salesman". we really trusted him right off the bat, and our instincts were right on. he did a great job over 3 days removing the carpet and refinishing the floors. he was able to finish a day earlier than planned (after all 3 coats), so that was very welcome news. really professional, and, at least as importantly, he did a fantastic job on the floors.

was great. i felt very comfortable with him -- he was very open and honest about cost, what he could do and what needed to be done. His crew (at times 5 people!) was very efficient, started early and finished on time as promised. i estimated 15% more wood than was needed for the installation but was able to return that! The final price was nearly exactly what he had initially estimated. I still

"My floor looks great!
I contacted
Columbus Wood Flooring Experts Provider Name Locked
after a previous contractor had done a very poor job on refinishing and repairing my floor.
Columbus Wood Flooring Experts Provider Name Locked
was out my house very quickly and provided a very reasonable estimate to correct what was done.
After the crew had finished the floor looked better than it ever had. You can't even tell that someone had messed them up before.
Great job!!

"At the initial estimate Chaz was very reasonable -- he is the one who suggested the non-sanding TyKote approach since he thought the floors were in good shape and didn't need to be sanded. The TyKote is a less expensive solution so he definitely wasn't trying to up-sell us at all! We also were in a pinch because this was a last-minute panic in the middle of a kitchen renovation, and Chaz was able to fit us in very quickly in the time frame we needed. Actually, he was quite flexible because the Friday before they were set to do the work on Monday our contractor asked if it could be pushed back to the end of the week -- and Chaz rearranged things to get it done.
The flooring looks great. You can't tell where the patching was done, it looks awesome (and there was some "tricky" patching around/partially under already installed custom cabinets). The "refinishing" looks excellent, the floors are shiny and look very much like the flooring in our dining and living rooms (which is the same flooring as the kitchen, but wasn't in need of refinishing). We would *definitely* contact Chaz again with other wood flooring projects!
I cannot compare his estimate to the others we got because all the others were for sanding/refinishing (not the TyKote).

"The experience ended in a breach of contract by Deluxe with them demanding more money than the contracted amount that they agreed to do the job for.
All information about the job (including materials cost and adjustments requested by myself as the homeowner to the insurance specs to repair the damage) was provided to them in advance of the work. I entered into the contract with Deluxe believing that they would do the work as promised and within the insurance budget as promised.
The first red flag which I unfortunately ignored is that they never delivered on a requested project plan that had all the figures plugged in. I trusted their assurance that they would do the work as we had agreed upon and signed off on. (Ironically and tellingly, no estimate was ever given to me for any dollar amount beyond the insurance funds that the project would require.)
During the early stages of the project when I raised concerns about the time that the work was taking due to the slowness of their workers, they stated that there wouldn't be additional charges for the work. They at some point changed in their minds.
Attempts were made to pull the contract out of breach but Deluxe refused to provide a written, legally binding statement that they would complete the work as agreed upon and for the amount provided for the work by the insurance company. Their representative - Dick Lelux (who also does business as

Leux and

Lelux) said "trust me" rather than provide what any reputable business owner would.
The work done was painfuly and inexplicably slow with uneven levels of workers there in a day. Sometimes Deluxe would send a crew of two, other times one person would show, others Deluxe crew members needing to fill hours between jobs would come and hang out and do very little work. A day was sometimes 6 hours, sometimes 7, sometimes 5 - but never a "full" day.
550 square feet of hardwood floor (which a crew of 2 could do in 2 - 3 days) took 2 weeks (roughly 2 days total of that time was spent removing old floor and nails - which Deluxe wanted to initially

the new hardwood floor over. There were days when less than 75 square feet of hardwood floor was laid by a crew of two people.
A 170 square foot kitchen needed cabinetry and a ceramic tile floor removed, a new floor laid and cabinetry reinstalled. 3 weeks of work and this tiny kitchen is still not completed. Parts of the ceramic tile floor - which took them two weeks to
Columbus Wood Flooring Experts Provider Name Locked
and which one of their workers told me I'd need to remove remaining grout haze and seal the tile myself - are uneven and need to be chiseled out and replaced. I was told by Dick Lelux that the floor would look fine as long as bright light wasn't shining on it.
5 plus weeks on the job and I'm left with a house that isn't finished and an experience with Dick Lelux which included him recording conversations without my knowledge or consent (he has done this to other Angie's list members and has freely admitted it in his replies to their concerns). The minute the contract was breached I sent the one worker who showed up on a Saturday because the deadline has passed for the completion of my kitchen home. Dick Lelux was texted and called to resolve the situation but would not speak to me.
I fully expect Mr. Lelux to leave incredibly unprofessional responses to the above ratings and factual criticism as he does toward any individual who leaves a legitimate complaint about their negative experiences with his company.
On a bright note - if you do find yourself needing to use Deluxe for any reason, be sure to ask for
Columbus Wood Flooring Experts Provider Name Locked
. The time that he spent on the project was invaluable. He truly is a professional who's main concern is the customer's satisfaction. He has incredibly high ethical standards and a stellar quality of work.
