Surgery Reviews in Columbus

When I arrived with my forms already filled out, I was able to relax for a few minutes before they called my name. The wait was not long. When Dr.
entered my examination room, he seemed warm and friendly. He explained the problem with my gallbladder and his proposed surgery in detail. He could see I had some anxiety about the recovery after surgery. He told me about a woman in his own office who had the same surgery a couple of weeks earlier and how soon she was able to resume normal activities. He told me I would most likely get the least invasive surgery but if they ran into unforeseen problems during surgery, I would need a larger incision which would require a longer recovery period. He told me how many of these procedures he did a year. I don't remember the number now but it was huge. He also assured me that a very small percentage of the procedures resulted in a larger incision. He reassured me that, most likely, I was not going to be one of those, and explained why. He was very confident and I felt reassured after the appointment. After he answered my questions and I said, "Let's do it," He sent me into their scheduling office, where a woman set up the date of surgery to be done only 8 days later. She answered all my questions and gave me some literature to read regarding my upcoming surgical procedure. She also gave me details of the process leading up to the surgery day so I would know what to expect. She got on the phone and scheduled some preoperative tests that needed to be performed that same day and sent me over for the tests in the next building (only a short walk). Because of my age, I had to get a chest X-
, some blood work and an EKG. After the tests were over, I ate some lunch and went home. It was all done pretty quickly (and very efficiently) that same morning. A few days later, I received a call from the hospital, asking me some medical questions. I also received a call from Dr.
's office, telling me exactly what time I needed to arrive at the hospital and exactly where I needed to check-in upon my arrival. They also gave me detailed directions as to where my husband could pull up the car for valet parking on the surgery day. The whole process went smoothly like a
tuned car. They did take care of every detail for me because they know I was under stress regarding any upcoming surgery.

I am not crazy about them, although they were fair this last time I went in. I wouldn't say they are excellent, but I wouldn't say bad either. They don't know how to get an IV in. I had told them that I am hard to get; they punched me about 4-5 times before I told them to get somebody else. They are always available as it is a hospital. They are good at billing. They were pretty good, admittance and stuff like that was really quick and good. If I have to, I would use them again in the future.

Surgery reviews in Columbus

I was admitted to Mount Carmel East Hospital back in
Columbus General Surgeons Provider Name Locked
because my appendix
had ruptured. Due to the high infection level and that part of my bowel was wrapped
around my appendix, this condition was non-operable at that time. My condition was
treated with intravenous antibiotics. After the infection improved and my internals
were allowed to heal from the infection, surgery was scheduled. The surgery was
successful and I had no pain and continue to have no pain from any of the incisions
in my abdomen. Dr.
Columbus General Surgeons Provider Name Locked
was able to successfully remove my appendix without
disturbing the intestines that were wrapped around the bowel.

My interactions with Dr.
Columbus General Surgeons Provider Name Locked
over the past 5 months have been superior. During office
and hospital visits, he anticipated questions and answered them before they could
be asked and he answered all questions that I asked. He would take as much time
as necessary to completely address my concerns and make me feel comfortable.

His office staff have been excellent during the office visits and are very receptive
to answering any questions when you call them on the phone. I strongly recommend Dr.

if you need similar surgery as I am extremely
pleased with my experience with him and the staff at Central Ohio Surgical Associates.

My appointments in his office were very positive. After the surgery when I reacted badly to the pain medicine, he suggested that I stay a second night in the hospital until I was feeling better. I very much appreciatedhat suggestion and felt much more ready to be home the next day. My recovery went better than I expected and was back to all my normal activities within about 10 days.

I took my brother in after he cut his hand badly. We went in around 1:00 and were taken back right away and they took an X-

to make sure he didn't hit the bone which was great. Then we were taken to a room and the room was very nice, private and we had a TV but that is where the good stopped. After waiting about an hour I went out to see what was going on b/c my brother was in a lot of pain. I was told the doctor should be in soon. Shortly after that a doctor came in and asks us if we could clean his fingers up b/c on the blood and also make sure the wound doesn't have any debris in it. I didn't mind helping him clean the fingers but I thought cleaning the wound be something the hospital would do. Anyway after we did that which was again very painful we waited about another hour so I went out again to see what the hold up was. The nurse at the desk was not helpful at all and said she didn't see where the doctor had any notes down which I could have told her that. Anyway she had no answer for me so I went back to the room for another 30 min all the while my brother is in a lot of pain and discomfort. Just as I was about to take my brother somewhere else the doctor came in at about 3:30 to take a look at the wound and get it all taken care of. Finally about 4:30 we were all done. The doctor once we finally got him in there was good, friendly and did a good job. The wait was just crazy I couldn't believe how long it took us to see someone. If I ever have anything like that happen again I will drive further to try and get some prompt service. The hospital itself is very nice on the inside and the patient rooms are very nice but like I said the service need enhanced!

He is wonderful, and I love him. He puts me at ease and listens to me. I went to his office for consultation, and the surgery was done in the hospital. My husband and I went to him last year for a colonoscopy. He actually happens to be my neighbor. I would rate him highly and would use him again in the future; in fact, they will call and let me know that it is time for the next appointment.

I had to have my gallbladder removed labor day weekend. I was afraid because I had never had a surgical procedure before;but,Dr
Columbus General Surgeons Provider Name Locked
put me at ease as soon as I met him. He paitently answered all of my questions. He was polite and proffesional to my family and I. The surgery seemed to go quickly and I recovered easily with only a minimal amount of soreness. The follow up exam went smooth and the office staff was also very polite and professional. I would reccomend this surgeon to my friends and family.

I appreciate his professionalism as well as the professionalism and friendliness of his office staff. They take the time to answer your questions and have a well thought-out routine for patients. He told me what to expect and I have had no suprises.

We arrived early in the morning for outpatient surgery which was to include an overnight stay. My husband was taken to pre-op and was well taken care of. He did, however, have to wait longer than expected because complications in the operating room

to a delay. The staff was friendly and helpful. I was able to stay with him throughout the delay. The hospital has attempted to provide adequate waiting area, but it still isn't the most comfortable place to hang out. I chose to spend some time in the cafeteria and then in the more comfortable lobby. And though I checked the info board they have set up, I still missed a call that he was finishing. However, I made it back to the waiting room in time to meet the surgeon. I believe the hospital is in the process of remodeling the surgery waiting area. I'm sure that will help. Just having a little more room and some more comfortable furniture would be nice. They did have a luggage storage area so I could leave my husband's clothes and not have to carry them around. It isn't secured, but I felt reasonably comfortable leaving them there. Once he was through some of the recovery process, they brought me to him in the recovery area and prepared to move him to a room. The nurse caring for him at that point was wonderful and took very good care of him while he was still pretty out of it. The staff we encountered throughout his overnight stay were competent and mostly quite friendly. Several were exceptional, including his patient care assistants. Two of them were

studying to become RN's. He was glad to have some men around to help and they were very accommodating. Also, because he had a terrific roommate who was also accommodating, I was able to spend the night to help him with the little things. They made sure he got some food that he was able to eat when the tray he received was a little beyond him at that point and kept him supplied with other foods throughout the night as he was able to eat. They also moved around the chairs so I had a comfortable place to relax overnight. His discharge nurse also was terrific and made sure he was well-prepared for going home.

She was very thorough and good at answering questions and concerns. She is great at follow-ups and during the surgery. It is a very comfortable envionrment. She is very easy to get ahold of or is very good at getting back to you.
