Asphalt Driveway Reviews in Columbus

Overall this is a good company because they did excellent workmanship on the driveway. I would definitely use them again. However, the process of getting an estimate was difficult which is reflected in some rating categories above. I had my driveway replaced along with my neighbor last year with another Angie's List provider. The company who installed the driveway said I should have it sealed this summer and they recommended
. I called
and left a message requesting an estimate for multiple driveways. I called again about a week later and spoke with
, the owner of
, who said he would come out and give me an estimate by the following Wednesday. He did not come nor did he call to give me any idea of a modified estimate schedule. I then called 8 other A-rated Angie's List providers for estimates and only 2 of those returned my call and came to do an estimate. I was going to hire one of the other companies but my neighbor strongly preferred waiting for an estimate from
because of the positive opinion the driveway installation company had of
. So, over a little more than a month, I called and left messages a total of 5 times before
came and did an estimate.
called me with the estimate, told me he'd be able to do the work the following week and would give me 1-2 days notice. We spoke the day before the work was done and
said they'd be arriving at 8:00 a.m. the following morning. The actual arrival was 9:00. The work was performed quickly (less than an hour) and they did a great job and left a clean work area. The cost was $253 for a single coat (my other two estimates were $171 and $396).
put the sealant on hot directly from their tank (not a process using buckets, etc) and it is spread thick. They use Brewer
tar emulsion with sand suspended using TarMax additive - none of which I understand but it was the factors that made my driveway installer recommend

They we're prompt, applied two coats as promised, explained how the patch was done and advised me to not drive over the patched area for 10 days as it might remain soft or place board over the patched area to protect it for a week or so

Asphalt Driveway reviews in Columbus

Called them to ask if they did small jobs and patch work. I have a small area behind the house that is about 8 x 8' that needed work. I had called a few other asphalt companies that were not interested in doing a small job like this. When I called Jet Seal I specifically asked if they did small jobs and they said yes. They said they would be out to do an estimate within 2 days. A week later I called and they said they were back up due to rain and they would get right on it. Another week passed and i called again. They left me a message basically saying that they were not having luck with scheduling their patching people and basically would not be doing the job. I waited 2 weeks for nothing and I am in the process of selling my home and the work needs to be down asap. Very upset about this service especially as they were recommended by a friend.

From start to finish the entire experience could not have gone any better! I first contacted this company along with several others to get an estimate on resurfacing a private road that serves two homes and my driveway.

was very responsive and came right out. He quoted me both on asphalt, that I initially thought I wanted, and then the Chip and Seal option. Because this is a shared road with shared cost, the Chip and Seal was the most cost effective.

actually introduced this to me and explained that it has good long term durability and the technology has been around for many many years. Not many offer it because it requires a different slate of equipment. I also watched the video on his web page that further explained it. Fast forward, a few weeks when I contacted

back to schedule the work. He told me he would be out following week on Thursday to do the grading and then back on Friday to install the Chip and Seal. Sadly, I was away on business so I could not observe the work while it was performed but after, my neighbor, who has exacting standards made a point to tell me that they really took their time on both days to do it correctly. The finished product exceed my expectations and really accomplished what I was after. I highly recommend this company if you are looking for this or asphalt work as I think he would put the effort and commitment into that as well. Frankly, I felt so strongly that I wanted to enter them into the Angie's List Family. This is the first time I have done so.

An estimator was sent out the same day I contacted the office. He explained in detail what would be done and when. He gave me a written estimate that also included detailed information about the process that would be followed. When I contacted the office I was able to get the work scheduled when I wanted it to be done (subject to the weather cooperating of course). The day of the prep work and application of the first coat I got a call first thing reminding me to move cars. The team of two alerted me to their arrival and then did the prep work (edging back grass from the driveway and filling cracks in the driveway.).They returned two hours later to apply the first coat. Early the next day they returned to apply the second coat. Three days later they returned to remove the signage.
The whole project went like clock work and the workers were diligent and kept me well informed. I used this company two years ago and will plan on using them again in the future.

In May I had called

and spoke with one of the workers. At the time, the owner was out due to medical reasons. I was able to schedule an $89 dollar promotion even though I had not done so through the site. We agreed upon a time and the drive was eventually sealed (it was delayed by the rain but that isn't their fault). The seal was as promised and all the cracks were handled.
So why am I giving it an F? When I was finally able to pull into my garage, I noticed a lot of black spots on my grey trim and white garage door. Thinking it was some debris, I tried to clean it with no success. I called and left a few messages about it, but I didn't hear back from the owner until a few weeks ago. He explained that this had been done by his techs (he had just returned). He told me he would get the stone washed and a painter to take care of the stains on the door and surrounding trim. He never gave me a frame of WHEN to expect this work.
It has been over a month since my check was cashed and the work was done. While I understand I am not his only customer, my garage has made for a conversation topic one time too many for my liking (it's all the PR you could ever NOT want). Were it not for this incident, I probably would have given them an A. I will be glad to give this company a far more favorable review when I see that the promised actions have been taken.

I initially asked for 2 coats sealer, as I have an aging driveway. Only one coat available. I asked for crack filler. No filler available. I asked for 2 day's notice, so I could get my large potted plants off the driveway. The sealer employee showed up with no advance notice, had to leave. My driveway was not measured prior to the

. I paid in advance, several weeks. After a few phone calls, I finally had the job done 1st week in October. An older guy with what appeared to be a teenager showed up, this time I got advance notice. I had previously edged my driveway & got plants off the driveway. The part of the driveway nearest the garage turned out OK, but the last 2/3 of it had globs of sealer and lines of sealer on it. I asked the older guy re: the lines, he told me once the sealer dried, they would disappear. They did not. Last winter when shoveling snow on my driveway, my shovel kept hitting the sealer lines. To seal some of the cracks, additional sealer was applied to them. The employees did, however do a good job on the driveway edges. Right now, 10 1/2 months later, my driveway is peeling, so it will have to be sealed this Fall. With 2 coats sealer, I could go 2 years between

, which meant less work for me getting my plants off the driveway. I had previously been able to get 2 coats sealer, crack filler, had my driveway measured in advance, and paid after the work was done. The owner checked on the work of his employees. I prefer to do business this way.

They did a great job, were very courtious and good attention to detail regarding before job cleaning of drive and were very good at not getting any material on area concrete.
There was a little difficulty determining the day the work was to be done but that was only because of bad weather on my requested days. They showed up a little earlier than requested but that was not a problem at all. That type of work can be very difficult to schedule and do with Ohio weather, but they did a fantastic job, and it appears they used a good quality sealer, I would easily recommend them to anyone without hesitation.

After a delay of about 3 weeks - due to the heavy springs rains, the work was started an completed within 2 days.

was excellent to work with.

Showed up early and edged along length of driveway then used a gas blower to clean entire driveway. Got the first and second coats down in a few hours.
