Columbus Tiling Experts Reviews
The floor of the upsairs shower needed to be ripped out to have the membrane replaced (because it was installed improperly) and the drain needed to be replaced as well.
Bill showed up and completed the estimate very quick and he was very friendly. He made sure to cover even a few unexpected concerns he wanted me to keep in mind due to the leak (thankfully we discovered the floor boards were fine). When I was able to have the work completed, they were very flexible with setting up a time with me to begin the work. They cleaned up after themselves each day and did an excellent job. They helped provide suggestions to help me choosing the correct tile and I am extremly happy with the results! When I need tile work in the future I will be sure to call them again!
We had a problem with the tile. We didn't realize until they were 3/4 of the way through the job that the tile company gave him the wrong tile. They took down the wrong tile and installed the correct tile without a complaint.
My shower is absolutely beautiful! Now I can't wait for them to do the bathroom floor and the backsplash in my kitchen!!!
It started with the owner, OK to come to the door early. He examined the job and gave a detailed, written
estimate on the spot. He was very professional and courteous. We selected a work date later that day.
I’m sure the work was more time-consuming than they expected, yet their invoice was for the exact amount of their estimate.
We’re very grateful to
All information about the job (including materials cost and adjustments requested by myself as the homeowner to the insurance specs to repair the damage) was provided to them in advance of the work. I entered into the contract with Deluxe believing that they would do the work as promised and within the insurance budget as promised.
The first red flag which I unfortunately ignored is that they never delivered on a requested project plan that had all the figures plugged in. I trusted their assurance that they would do the work as we had agreed upon and signed off on. (Ironically and tellingly, no estimate was ever given to me for any dollar amount beyond the insurance funds that the project would require.)
During the early stages of the project when I raised concerns about the time that the work was taking due to the slowness of their workers, they stated that there wouldn't be additional charges for the work. They at some point changed in their minds.
Attempts were made to pull the contract out of breach but Deluxe refused to provide a written, legally binding statement that they would complete the work as agreed upon and for the amount provided for the work by the insurance company. Their representative - Dick Lelux (who also does business as
The work done was painfuly and inexplicably slow with uneven levels of workers there in a day. Sometimes Deluxe would send a crew of two, other times one person would show, others Deluxe crew members needing to fill hours between jobs would come and hang out and do very little work. A day was sometimes 6 hours, sometimes 7, sometimes 5 - but never a "full" day.
550 square feet of hardwood floor (which a crew of 2 could do in 2 - 3 days) took 2 weeks (roughly 2 days total of that time was spent removing old floor and nails - which Deluxe wanted to initially
A 170 square foot kitchen needed cabinetry and a ceramic tile floor removed, a new floor laid and cabinetry reinstalled. 3 weeks of work and this tiny kitchen is still not completed. Parts of the ceramic tile floor - which took them two weeks to
5 plus weeks on the job and I'm left with a house that isn't finished and an experience with Dick Lelux which included him recording conversations without my knowledge or consent (he has done this to other Angie's list members and has freely admitted it in his replies to their concerns). The minute the contract was breached I sent the one worker who showed up on a Saturday because the deadline has passed for the completion of my kitchen home. Dick Lelux was texted and called to resolve the situation but would not speak to me.
I fully expect Mr. Lelux to leave incredibly unprofessional responses to the above ratings and factual criticism as he does toward any individual who leaves a legitimate complaint about their negative experiences with his company.
On a bright note - if you do find yourself needing to use Deluxe for any reason, be sure to ask for
My wife and I had chosen a complicated natural stone Versailles Pattern for our kitchen floor. Initially, our intent was to do the floor install ourselves. However, after carefully looking over the size and nature of the project, we chose
Incidentally, my wife and I are going to be remodeling the master bathroom within the next 18 months, and I can honestly say, we will not even collect other estimates for the tile work. We will simply call

Installed a "Warmly Yours" heating floor mat as heating source for room
Installed 20" tiles in colors to compliment the cherry door and the oak flooring throughout the house
Removed all original interior clapboard (except small wall) to install roll insulation into the wall cavity/blown-in insulation to ceiling from second story floor. Original clapboard was salvaged and used on exterior of house,
Porch exterior orginally had "mixed-matched" clapboard (large grooved section and then small grooved section) that was very unattractive
would match seamlessly and all look original. We could not have asked for a better job of matching the original wood (1891) to the new wood! They custom ordered material which also matched the one remaining original wall inside of the breakfast nook and notched out every piece so they would join together perfectly in the corners!!
Prime and painting for the project was not part of the original quote, but we were so impressed by their quality of work that we asked if they would also like to do all of the painting as well. We are glad that we did.
