Now ...more full story: Mobile estimation unit came right to my house (even though my minivan was drivable) to give an estimate. Within 1 hour, the rep called me after talking to my insurance company and was sending another person back to my house with a rental car to come and pick up my minivan. After he left with my minivan, I got in the rental car and noticed it was disgusting- I called my contact person, she apologized profusely and explained that it was because it was a last-minute drop-off [which it was] they just sent the most recent car that just came on the lot. Within another hour, they replaced that car with a better one- and said that they planned on replacing that one with an even better car once their regular rental place was open the next day at no cost to us. They did just that (although this time we went to AA and then got transportation to the rental place). Although it sounds complicated,

made it easy, they were always extremely professional and responsive. The repair work was done in about a week, looks great! They also cleaned out my car and gave it a wash! Looked better than when I dropped it off! I would definitely use them again- but try to avoid doing it all late in the day- as they have limited availabilty of rental cars."

agreed to provide a rental car for me on the spot at the same insurance-approved daily rate. This made drop-off and pick-up processes both much easier. The work was scheduled for five days but completed in three. I was the first customer at their new location on Indianola Ave at Cooke Rd, which is very impressively clean and environmentally green. The only glitch in the process was that they forgot to reset the code on my car radio, but let me keep the rental car for several hours to give them time to call the dealer for the code. I will continue to use Import Direct for regular auto service and hope I don't need body work again soon!"

"First, let me say that we selected because we purchased the vehicle there and had a very positive buying experience. Their body shop was also on our insurance company's list of "preferred" shops. So it seemed like a good choice. Unfortunately, our experience this time around was not nearly as positive, and I doubt we'll take ...more our vehicles there in the future. First the good points... The quality of the work seems fine. Our SUV looks like it did before the wreck, which is what I would expect from a "preferred" body shop. I was also pleased to learn that they put a new bumper on our vehicle, rather than a used one as my insurance company would have preferred. (don't even get me started on insurance companies mandating used parts!!). Overall, I don't have any issues with the quality of work that was done. Now for the negatives... The customer service experience was terrible. First off, the shop did a poor job of keeping us in the loop. Rather than proactively estimating how long the repairs would take, I had to call them to find out what was going on a week after they said they'd let me know. I learned that there was more damage than identified in the original estimate, and this had

to delays in the work. It would have been nice to get a call rather than waiting over a week for any word and then having to call them myself. When I asked how long it would be until the work was complete, I was told the end of the week. I explained that we really needed the vehicle no later than Friday. The next morning (Wednesday) I got a call that the vehicle was done. If it could be completed the next day, why did they originally say it would take at least 3 more days? All in all, the repairs took nearly two weeks, which seems pretty long for a minor front-end collision. If this had been the entire experience, I probably would have rated them a B overall. However, the worst part of the experience came next. Because I work a later schedule, I wasn't able to take my wife to pick up the vehicle before the shop closed. So she just paid for the repairs, got the keys, and then we returned to the lot last night (around 9 pm) to pick up the vehicle. When my wife went to start it up, it wouldn't turn over. She rolled down the window to tell me something was wrong, and then the battery went completely dead. It was so dead that she couldn't roll the window back up or even remove the keys from the ignition. I called up

dealership (which is about a mile or two from the body shop) and explained the situation. I assumed they'd send someone down to jump the vehicle, replace the battery, call a tow truck.... something. The guy I spoke to said he only had a few guys working last night and that he couldn't spare anyone to come help me. He said I should just leave the vehicle and they'd look at it in the morning. Flabbergasted, I said, "I'm not leaving my SUV with the window rolled down and the keys stuck in the ignition!" He offered no suggestion... so I said, well I guess I'll have to try to jump it myself so I can at least roll up the windows. He then took my name and number and left me fumbling around in the dark parking lot at 9 pm with my wife and 20-month old daughter trying to jumpstart my car to get the keys out! Needless to say, I was P*****. This morning, I get a voicemail from the body shop saying that they're "sorry" my car wouldn't start and that the battery must have gone dead while they had the doors open cleaning out the car. I'm sorry, but there's no way the dome light drained the battery completely in the time it takes to vaccum out a car. And as dead as that battery was, there's no way they drove it from the service bay to the front parking lot without noticing something was wrong. At any rate, they recharged the battery today and said we could come pick up the SUV. No offer to compensate us for the inconvenience or the extra day we had to pay for the rental car. Nothing but a half-hearted apology and an excuse for what had happened."

Very quick turnaround time (from initial esitmate, to scheduling the repairs, to having it done, and driving off the lot was less than a week), worked well ...more with both my insurance company and the rental car agency, and communicated throughout the process."
