I don't know if this is okay to submit since I did not actually use them, but I was showing a friend how easy it was to find contractors, etc. on Angie's List, as she needed part of her driveway fixed. I told her we could find someone through my membership and if she thought it was worth it, she was going to join herself. She set the appointment for this company to come out and look at her driveway in early April and they never showed up, and did not even call to inform her that they would not be there, or to apologize for not keeping the appointment.

everything went well and I was happy with the look of it thought it was a quality job, but now there is a lot of pitting and we don't use salt in the winter. Iam vary unhappy now with the work, and have been told there is nothing I can do.

Our goal for this project was to create a smooth surface for cleaning and prevent water permeation through the floor as we had the walls waterproofed on both the exterior and interior. We solicited quotes for two different types of basement jobs 1) to cover the existing floor with a leveling concrete and 2) to rip it out and start over. We solicited quotes from 4 Angie’s List companies rated “A”. Of the 4,
Cleveland Driveway Contractors Provider Name Locked
was the only one to actually come out and bid the job. 1 company did not return my call and the other 2 said they did not do interior residential work unless they were also doing exterior work.
Guy Difini of
Cleveland Driveway Contractors Provider Name Locked
, was prompt in his response to my phone call to schedule the quote and was upfront about the amount of work both types of jobs would require. He spent over an hour discussing our options with us. He explained that if we wanted to pursue option 1, work could not be warrantied as our existing floor had hollow pockets and deep holes that could not be filled by top coating with leveling concrete. The end result would be a pretty looking floor that would not prevent water from entering our house and would crack eventually. Option 2, while requiring more manual labor, would correct the sub-floor and properly prevent water from coming through the floor. The cost for either option was similar due to the higher material cost of option 1 and the high labor cost of option 2.
After evaluating the information

had provided, we decided to proceed with option 2 and had our entire basement jackhammered out, a vapor

installed, wire reinforcing added, and new concrete poured.

worked with us to figure out a way to pour the entire floor on one day while leaving the washer, dryer, and other miscellaneous tools and lumber in the basement on the raised ledge we had recently fixed using bag cement and a small bathroom which is going to be remodeled later. The crew showed up on time each day, was respectful of our house, was friendly and did not complain about the backbreaking labor of jackhammering and hauling the old cement up in 5

buckets out the only door in the basement. I believe the greatest challenge was the fact we do not have a driveway, which meant the dump truck, cement truck, pump truck, tool truck and trailer, bobcat truck and trailer all had to park on the street in front of our house. Despite being a challenge, the demo days and pump day ran smoothly. Our resulting basement slab is gorgeously smooth and we no longer have moisture in our basement. After the slab cured (and we had time), we moved everything back off the raised ledge and Guy came back to epoxy coat the raised concrete ledge which was generating a lot of concrete dusting (common when bagged cement is used for large areas, especially with a vapor

below the concrete).
We had a very successful experience using
Cleveland Driveway Contractors Provider Name Locked
and will recommend them to our friends and family. Should we ever need another cement slab poured, we will be calling
Cleveland Driveway Contractors Provider Name Locked
first.

We played phone tag but when we did talk he was very informative, professional and polite. He had ideas from the renters and us and worked well with both of us. He allowed minor changes toward the pouring time with minimal additional costs. As with any concrete job they are weather dependent toward the end of the season so we were pleased when he was able to complete the job within two weeks of his estimated time. He had originally said he's have to come back in approx. a month ( weather dependent) to seal the concrete after it cured. He then however, said the sealing agent was added to the concrete and he didn't have to return. This still makes me uncomfortable but a month later and the job looks good. We'll see after the first winter. Also he required no money up front but was pd. in full at the end of the job., no payment system or credit card were accepted.

We found
Cleveland Driveway Contractors Provider Name Locked
Contractors on Angie's List and, really, from the first point of contact we were never disappointed. They were quick to respond to emails. Guy, the company owner was personable and friendly, and was quick to provide an estimate. At first, we were a bit shocked by the price, but they were understanding and encouraged us to get competitive bids. After securing a few, we found
Cleveland Driveway Contractors Provider Name Locked
's bid to be right in line, and went with
Cleveland Driveway Contractors Provider Name Locked
just based upon the trust we had in their previously strong recommendations. We asked for an Oct. 1 start date, and they showed up that very morning. After removing the concrete that day, rain set in for a few days, but as soon as it let up, they called to schedule the pouring and showed up early and finished ahead of schedule. It turned out beautifully, more than we had hoped for.

The appointment was arranged by phone earlier in the week for Friday 5/18/2012 at 11:00am. I waited until 11:50 am and contacted Holland because the salesman did not show up. The contact at Holland asked me if I knew the salesman name, and if it was a man or a woman, as they have several salespeople. I gave her my address and phone number, and she would investigate who was the sales contact. Then began the three cell phone calls from the salesman. The 1st: I answered 'hello', then I heard some noises which sounded like breathing or coughing and other stuff. I kept saying hello, but there was no response and the call went dead on their end. That whole call maybe lasted 15-20 seconds. The second call from the cell phone was about 30 seconds later, but it only rang once. Then, a minute later, a third call from the cell number.
The salesman asks for me and I respond who I was. He begins by stating the following: " I don't know what to tell you. I lost my appointment book (or list) and I missed an appointment with you." He then goes on to say, " do you want to reschedule or just forget about it? This messed you up more than it did me, so I can understand." I could not believe what I was hearing. He went on to day that was in another part of Cuyahoga County and wanted to know what I wanted to do. I responded the other times I was free, none of which included today (5/18/2012). But then I told him that was ok, referencing that I was done with Holland. Things happen with missed appointments or being late and I understand. But my issue is that this salesman did not sound like he cared to want my business. In fact, I don't recall an apology from him, and me might have. I don't recall because I felt he did not care if I rescheduled or not. He did not care about trying to keep this customer. If I were him, I would be giving the customer a time he would some by to make up for missed appointment as soon as possible, but he instead gave me the option of just dropping it, i.e. not using Holland at all. How could I feel comfortable dealing with a company that handles a potential new customer? I didn't feel I mattered with that company. First impressions are everything and that one was bad.

You can't go wrong with this company. They offer a good price ,quality workmanship and SPEED.
Guy said he could do the job in a day and I was skeptical at first.Guy and sons showed up at 3:00 PM on a thursday after finishing a job somewhere else.
I wondered what could they possibly accomplish so late in the afternoon?!I quickly found out. They have alot of heavy duty equipment and my driveway was out and in a truck within a half an hour.Guy and sons are really adept at operating their equipment.
By 7:00 p.m. driveway was dugout ,leveled, formed, filled with stone and ready for pouring.(because my soil held a lot of moisture, guy added 7 tons of extra gravel at his cost)
Friday came and they showed up at around 11:00 and finished prepping for 12:00 delivery of concrete.
The cement truck came over an hour late and Guy was rightfully upset because they were all ready to go by noon, and as we all know, time is money.
Truck finally arrived and job was finished in short order.
Guy has been doing concrete work for over 30 years and knows his trade well. His sons and himself are extremely hard workers. You won't be disappointed with this company.Highly recommended.

I spoke to several contractors and chose
Cleveland Driveway Contractors Provider Name Locked
. In additional to replacing the driveway, I was working with a plumbing and electrical company to replace utility lines which ran under the driveway.
Cleveland Driveway Contractors Provider Name Locked
was very prompt in providing a quote and answering questions. The actual driveway removal / replacement took a week. The crew was very professional and did an excellent job. For almost a year I never realized the length of the new driveway is higher than the old driveway and water flows into a large area to drain openings. We no longer have water accumulation in summer or ice areas in winter. An entrance door to the garage now opens in winter, which did not happen before this work was done. In addition to the actual driveway replacement the crew had to remove some tree roots which were pushing up the old driveway. Overall, I highly recommend
Cleveland Driveway Contractors Provider Name Locked
and would use this company again. Because of the time between the work being down and this report submission I can confirm the driveway replacement was done with high quality work and meant to last.

I found the
Cleveland Driveway Contractors Provider Name Locked
Contractors on Angie's after asking unsuccessfully for references (who did not respond) from friends. I was attracted to the company because it is in my community and he employed a crew while others subbed out. Guy arrived in a timely manner after my request for an estimate. He left his card and an e-mail with a detailed estimate. His estimate was in line with 2 others, but included more surface area for the front walk. Guy was willing to begin work that Friday which would mean an extra weekend without drive/garage access. Guy realized the issues of being on a main street and offered to rearrange his schedule to begin work the following Monday. Work took about 21/2 days. Workers arrived on time each day and completed more than I expected on the first day! After inspection, concrete was pour early the 2nd day. Clean up was great. The entire crew was helpful and courteous, making this experience a pleasant one. I would recommend them without hesitation.

The old concrete was removed quickly and efficiently, The old concrete was over 50 years old and it was thick and when removed there was no sand or cinders under the concrete only mud. The old drive was slanted toward the garage (which made for a wet and messy garage when it rained) and the drain tiles were busted. In other words it was a mess but Guy and his two sons did a fantastic job of fixing the drain and a large section of broken tiles and graded the driveway toward the drain. The finish (float) and edging are excellent These guys are truly artists of their trade. They take great pride in their work and it shows. We have the best looking drive on our street.
