"They did an excellent job and it was clear they knew what they were doing. In many small ways they went beyond what was necessary to get the job done. I would highly recommend this contractor for basement waterproofing.

"As soon as he walked up to my front porch, he was shaking his head. He told me what the problem was right away - the stone slab on top of my porch was pitched just slightly toward my house, causing rain water to run down the front of my home to the foundation wall. He showed me how the old caulking was cracked and loose, and was doing nothing to stop the flow of water down the wall. He also went downstairs to check out the wall, and his words to me were "this is not a waterproofing problem". You don't know how happy I was to hear him say that. I had nightmares of having to rip out my porch and rebuild it after waterproofing the wall.

was honest with me instead of misleading me into spending thousands of dollars. What a relief it is to have someone honestly tell you what is wrong, and how to fix the problem, and he didn't even charge me for the call. He asked me to thank him on Angie's List for helping me, so, here it is

"Overall it did go well. The provider was knowledgeable and friendly. The price was exorbitant. I explained it was a little steep so I would think about it. He did send me an email of the proposal. He did say they would come back out to snake the drains in back if I wanted them to. I thought that was really nice of him considering that I was flattened by the price.

"During a heavy rain, water would infiltrate our basement immediately around where the water line enters the house as well as another wall on the other side of the house. We would get a good inch of flooding in the basement during these rains. Around the water line, it was as if a water spigot had been turned on while the second area was only half as intense.
Cleveland Waterproofing Contractors Provider Name Locked
assessed the situation and recommended we only waterproof the more serious leak which also would be the cheaper to fix. They believed that by fixing the major problem there was a strong likelihood that the second leak would also be fixed. If not, it was a problem that could be addressed at a later time if needed.
We choose to do only the one area of our house.
Cleveland Waterproofing Contractors Provider Name Locked
did the work, in a timely and professional manner, and we are very satisfied with the quality of the job they did. The work was performed in the summer of 2011, which was an incredibly wet year, and after more than a year -- and after many heavy rains that would previously flood our basement -- our basement has been completely dry.
They completely fixed our problem.
What's more, by following their recommendation, they saved us a great sum of money by not waterproofing an area that did not need it.

"Day One: The Job began on
Cleveland Waterproofing Contractors Provider Name Locked
second about 9 am. The crew removed all necessary plants, saving desired plants and discarded anything unwanted. By the end of day one, they had almost completely excavated all four walls. We paid a third of the total cost, ~$4000, about halfway through the first day.
Day Two: This day consisted of the completion of the excavation, prepping the walls, and putting on a

of concrete, followed by sealer, onto the walls. The crew ended a little earlier on this day because of excessive rain. They tried to protect the walls as best one can. There never seemed to be more that about 4-6 inches of water in the trench, and the integrity of the trench remaind very solid.
Day Three: On the Forth of
Cleveland Waterproofing Contractors Provider Name Locked
, one worker came and rolled the tar onto the walls. This took about half a day.
Day Four: This day consisted of the installation of the new drainage system and downspouts, as well as the addition of gravel to create pitch and stabilize pipes in the trench. The Inspector for the pipes showed up early that morning, but he barely looked in the trenches. The inspector for the walls never come to look at the work. Now I am no inspector, but I would think you would want to go into the trench and look closely, but I guess that's why so many people get bad work done. I was very satisfied with the way that everything had been done, both to the walls and within the trenches, so I'm not too concerned. The crew were very good at explaining what each process was and the walls and drainage looked fabulous when they were finished. The crew met my request to backfill the gravel all the way up on one section of the house. The section of driveway was also prepped for concrete. This day also had some rain, but ended with the work almost complete.
Day Five: The driveway was poured and a small stoop was added (at no additional cost) to bring the door to driveway drop off more to code. The rest of the gravel, backfill, and Topsoil was put into place. They replanted the requested plants and allowed my wife to direct them in location. They replanted grass were requested. The rest of bill was paid at the end of the day, ~$8000.
Notes:Price: Now I know that I gave them a B on price and that is because I feel that similar quality work could have been done by other companies that I looked at for less, ~$1000. But no other company was able to offer the speed of schedule that
Cleveland Waterproofing Contractors Provider Name Locked
did. This speed is what was our deciding factor and for us the price was worth it. There was also an issue of water usage which I will discuss later.
Punctuality: Now I gave them A, the only issues that I had at all was the initial scheduling of the week which work would be preformed, which I found out was a byproduct of the concrete availability, weather, and how other jobs in front of mine were going/went. Once a date was scheduled I felt their punctuality was impeccable.
Responsiveness: I gave them an A; however, I did have some issues with getting some answers to certain questions. Again, I found out these were more a byproduct of the issues I mentioned in Punctuality. On location I felt every member of the crew was very responsive to my questions and concerns.Other: One issue I had not realized was how much of our water would be used. This was a cost that I was not planning on. The crew used our exterior faucet for running a drainage test, cleaning the walls, their tools, the driveway & street, the siding of the house, and the watering of the plants. I won't know the final cost for my increased water usage, but based on my normal usage it will be a spike. Let me make it clear that I never felt like they wasted water. The use was necessary, just didn't realize that I was going to be the one paying for it. I also had to have the Central Air Conditioning unit removed in order to preform the work. For anyone else using this company that does not go with
Cleveland Waterproofing Contractors Provider Name Locked
's subcontractor (Which is an additional cost) here is some advise. Definitely get it out at least a day before the work starts. They were able to move very quickly because we had removed it the friday before the work started. Schedule the rehook-up of the AC unit for the last day and let them know which wall it goes on. I waited for the wall to be done and had to wait almost a week to have my service provider re install the unit. None of that was
Cleveland Waterproofing Contractors Provider Name Locked
's fault, but something I didn't think about.
Because of the cost of the work, we were not able to do the rest of the driveway. If and when we do our driveway, I would definitely use them again. I felt that the crew did a great job and they were very fast!

"Our basement was notably wet the first spring after we purchased our house. We called
Cleveland Waterproofing Contractors Provider Name Locked
along with a few other companies to give estimates.
Cleveland Waterproofing Contractors Provider Name Locked
's price was slightly higher but not much and they offered a lifetime trasferrable warranty so we decided to go with them. The waterproofed our basement from the inside out, installed a sub pump and air purifier. The showed up on time and completed the work in a few days. We're pleased with the results and have not had moisture problems in the basement since. We did opt for the warranty which is $50/year. Last year our sub pump broke,

replaced it the next day for no additional charge. I would be happy to use them again.

"He gave me a good look at the stuff and put me at ease. There was no charge. There were a couple of cracks in the wall in the basement. It is a full basement, but it is not finished. I am not interested in doing that anyway, but there were a couple of cracks. There was a crack in the floor, so I was just a little nervous about it. I have had some bad rains. I have had a little bit of water in there. I wanted to make sure that the structure was sound. He went through the whole basement, went through the walls, and moved some stuff around to get some checks. He said the structure was sound. He said there was nothing there that he could even feel comfortable in suggesting that I do or try to sell me anything. He gave me a couple of suggestions. The cracks are very slight, and he said I can get some Sakrete ready mix concrete and fill it up if I would like to do that. He told me to keep an eye on it, and if it increases by any

to give him a call.

"Siteworks was easy to work with and professional. The challenge came in that after the first repair the problem was not fixed. This
Cleveland Waterproofing Contractors Provider Name Locked
to a longer than expected process. However, at the end Siteworks were good to their contract and re-performed the job to eventually fix the problem.

If the water penetration had been fixed on the first try I feel that the
Cleveland Waterproofing Contractors Provider Name Locked
would have been straight A's. The reason for the B rating was that the follow-up process was more difficult than I wanted it to be.

I feel that Siteworks is a reputable company and is trustworthy. I think that my experience is probably not the norm.

"I hired ACE to waterproof the basement of our East side suburb home. My experience with this company was an absolute nightmare! At first things seemed okay. The staff showed up every day on time and worked long hours to get the job done. They did a good job on the actual installation of the outside system. However, I have a number of complaints about the job and their service. First of all, about three days after they completed the job, my basement flooded after a heavy rain.
Cleveland Waterproofing Contractors Provider Name Locked
and
Cleveland Waterproofing Contractors Provider Name Locked
came out to see the inches of water in my basement. Their response was that they had done their job because my walls were dry and that they wanted me to pay them their money. I reminded them that my walls were always dry and they knew that was never the problem when I hired them. They looked into my storm sewer system with a camera and told me that there was a blockage. I wanted to know why they had not done this in the first place!
Cleveland Waterproofing Contractors Provider Name Locked
's response was that "this is not my house, this is your problem". To make a long story short, I hired ACE to waterproof my basement; they stuck to their position that they had done their job even though I had inches of water in my basement, and they slapped a mechanics
Cleveland Waterproofing Contractors Provider Name Locked
on my house when I asked them to waterproof my basement.

Furthermore, they damaged my lawn by driving their equipment on it, damaged the siding on my house, broke my well, and failed to clean up all of their debris. I decided to pay them for the system that they installed (even though my basement is still not waterproofed). We signed a contract amendment stating that they would repair all of these damages within 10 days, and I would hold back $2000 until they did so. It is now nearly three months later and after numerous phone calls to ACE, they have not made any of the repairs and have stopped communicating altogether. Even though I paid them $8000, they have not removed the mechanics
Cleveland Waterproofing Contractors Provider Name Locked
from my house, and I am forced to take legal action to have it removed!

I would never hire this company again!!!!
