did a great job. He showed up on time, stayed until past dinner, and worked the whole time. The items i had him do were in an 80 year old house so challenges arose from walls that were not square, etc.
Cincinnati Carpenters Provider Name Locked
was able to figure out a solution each time and i am very happy with the work. it looks great.

"UPDATE: The response this company posted is mostly
Cincinnati Carpenters Provider Name Locked
. HE agreed to give me the 100 dollars off for the coupon that I informed the company of the very first time I called. I do not see how it is my fault that the company can not communicate from within. I then received several emails from the manager of this branch harassing me for the 100 dollars due to the negative review I left. I still have the email it states "I asked that you not contact us again or post anything negative on the Internet when accepting a invalid discount on the work we completed. I received notice that you gave our company a review of a 0/10 on Systino today. We will be sending you an invoice for the $100 balance you owe." We had no such agreement, other then to not do business again together. This is a mutual feeling for both parties. I decided not to respond to
Cincinnati Carpenters Provider Name Locked
and got another email a few hours later stating " You are unbelievable! You had the audacity to ask "how I sleep at night". And you?"
I would also like to add that when someone requests the entire first floor to be completed that means every room on the first floor. It was left out by mistake and therefore the cost was split by both parties. This is not a discount, it is rectifying a wrong. I have decided to contact the national office, and have yet to hear back from them. I will be taking this to the BBB if I do not hear from someone within the next week.

GREAT WORK, BUT I WILL NEVER USE
Cincinnati Carpenters Provider Name Locked
AGAIN. Let me tell you why, starting from the very beginning.
I had received an add from Angie's List, so I contacted the company to see about having some baseboards installed on the entire first floor of my home. When I talked to
Cincinnati Carpenters Provider Name Locked
on the phone I told her exactly what it was I was looking for. To be exact, I specifically stated "I do not want to have to touch this project". I informed her that I wanted
Cincinnati Carpenters Provider Name Locked
to complete all the work required to install my baseboards and that I had a coupon for 10% off up to 100 dollars. I then told
Cincinnati Carpenters Provider Name Locked
that I have had some work started on the project, so she recommended having someone come out to give an estimate and see what still needed to be done. This is where I feel that communication within the company started to fall apart. When
Cincinnati Carpenters Provider Name Locked
(the installer) came out to give us the estimate, he was told that we wanted to have the entire first floor done which includes the 11x11 Master bedroom (I also told
Cincinnati Carpenters Provider Name Locked
this when I requested every room located on the first floor). He was also informed that we wanted to have the boards painted during the install. For all of this work we were quoted 1,390.00 minus the 50 dollars it cost to get the estimate and minus the coupon I had, totaling 1,240.00 dollars. My husband signed off on the estimate and then we called to schedule the work to be performed. I would like to add that the reason we went with
Cincinnati Carpenters Provider Name Locked
is because it was 160 dollars cheaper then another estimate we had done. When Mr.
Cincinnati Carpenters Provider Name Locked
(
Cincinnati Carpenters Provider Name Locked
) came out to install our baseboards on 12/16/2013 my husband called me stating that there was an issue with the original estimate, and that the Master bedroom had not been included (even though we specifically stated twice to the company that it should be). Neither was the painting of the baseboard, or the caulking and filling of the nail holes and seams (I feel that when you request an install that ‘you
Cincinnati Carpenters Provider Name Locked
’t want to touch’ this should be automatically covered in the price; it is part of installing the baseboards). I called the Manager
Cincinnati Carpenters Provider Name Locked
to discuss this with him. They were quoting us 600 dollars more than the original estimate.
Cincinnati Carpenters Provider Name Locked
and I both got irritated and heated on the phone call but worked out a deal of 300 dollars more on the estimate totaling 1690.00 before the coupon and 50 dollars for the estimate. I was still unhappy about this seeing as we were now paying an extra 300 dollars, but found it reasonable considering both parties messed up and it was a compromise on both parts. They should have put it on the estimate as they were told to, and we should have caught that it was not on there when we signed the estimate. The next day (12/17/2013) I called
Cincinnati Carpenters Provider Name Locked
again, to make sure that there would be no issue with my coupon that I got from being an Angie's list member. I left a voice mail for him and asked that he please call me back. He never returned my call, but apparently got the message. I know this because when I got home that night and asked
Cincinnati Carpenters Provider Name Locked
about it, he informed me that he had talked to
Cincinnati Carpenters Provider Name Locked
, and that
Cincinnati Carpenters Provider Name Locked
stated they would not accept the deal because they were offering 50% off on the painting. In my opinion, they were giving us 50% off because they messed up on the estimate, and it should have been on there. Now they wanted to take away my 100 dollar off coupon making it not 300 dollars, but 400 dollars more expensive. I do not feel that
Cincinnati Carpenters Provider Name Locked
was professional in regards to this situation. I am a paying customer, and I do not care how much you do not
want to speak with me, as the manager;
Cincinnati Carpenters Provider Name Locked
should have called me back as requested. I also did not appreciate the fact that both
Cincinnati Carpenters Provider Name Locked
and
Cincinnati Carpenters Provider Name Locked
yelled at me.
Cincinnati Carpenters Provider Name Locked
doing so in my own home in front of my children. I fully admit that I was angry and was loud too. My problem is that no matter what happens, as the company performing the work they need to keep their calm and be
professional at all times. If this were my job and I had an upset customer on the phone I would be fired immediately if I got irate back at them. My biggest issue with this company is their lack of professionalism and the fact that the total cost was so far off from the estimate. My warning to any future customers would be, if they are getting work done to make sure that the estimate is exact. DO NOT leave any room for them to try and hustle more money out of you. I feel $1700 to install baseboards, that were already purchased and paid for by you, in a 1200 sq ft home to be a pretty fair price for the company to earn. I do want to state again that the work
Cincinnati Carpenters Provider Name Locked
did was beautiful, and I greatly appreciate that.

Cincinnati Carpenters Provider Name Locked
is a perfectionist and a problem solver. Along with his skilled assistant,
Cincinnati Carpenters Provider Name Locked
,
Cincinnati Carpenters Provider Name Locked
does all work himself. We had spoken to several other contractors before we heard about
Cincinnati Carpenters Provider Name Locked
. Among other things, we had been told that three sets of sliding doors needed to be replaced and a solid oak front door needed to be replaced.
Cincinnati Carpenters Provider Name Locked
was able to repair and refinish all (including replacing door
Cincinnati Carpenters Provider Name Locked
) at a cost of less than $700, thereby saving us $20,000.00 in materials alone. The work is flawless and the doors are sound and whole, without a sign that there ever was a problem. He then installed and trimmed out two sets of French doors, and tied in the trim perfectly so that none of the eisting interior or exterior trim had to be replaced.
Cincinnati Carpenters Provider Name Locked
also discovered the source of and repaired leaks in our basement that nobody else could find. He then drywalled and applied a decorative finish and installed lighting.
We had a sizeable amount of exterior trim (including custom decorative moldings), and woodem siding that needed to be replaced.
Cincinnati Carpenters Provider Name Locked
determined the cause of the problem and nitigated it. He then replaced and painted the siding and trim. It is impossible to tell where the old ends and the new begins.
We also needed a new deck on the second floor of our house that
Cincinnati Carpenters Provider Name Locked
accomplished beautifully with a creative design that far outshines the original deck which was planned by an architect.
In addition,
Cincinnati Carpenters Provider Name Locked
solved many smaller problems, electrical, painting, plumbing, drywall repair, etc. each of which would have required us to hire individual contractors.
As an added bonus,
Cincinnati Carpenters Provider Name Locked
's prices are very reasonable. We will absolutely be calling
Cincinnati Carpenters Provider Name Locked
for any additional improvements we should wish to make or any future repairs we might need.

"From Start to Finish very professional. Began with their architect doing comprehensive conceptual (3D and 2D) drawings/plans. Detailed (by room) BID that listed all planned work and allowances. Work began promptly. They used a web-page (Co-construct) to facilitate frequent/regular communication of plans, deadlines, material selections/vendors, and financial accounting of all choices in real-time. Their workmanship from foundation to interior painting was exceptional. Especially impressive was the Kitchen layout and cabinetry, the family room fireplace/hearth, and the front porch addition.
All of their employees clearly knew their
Cincinnati Carpenters Provider Name Locked
(from framing, through trim carpentry) and performed them well. MBros and Sons also have developed a completely dependable group of sub-contractors (flooring, electric, drywall, plumbing, concrete) that were equally proficient.
They are clean. Throughout construction, they removed scrap materials, and cleaned daily. This provided a clean and safe environment for us to confidently be on site to observe progress and make real time adjustments. Finally, at the end of the project, they brought in a cleaning company to completely make the home (move-in ready).
Cincinnati Carpenters Provider Name Locked
and Sons are not the lowest cost company. But, they are clearly worth their premium cost for those people who want a project designed well and built well with responsive, and prompt adjustments.

"After much frustration trying to get one of the historic window "experts" in town to come fix a broken cord, I found Acanthus Group on Angie's List. They responded! Promptly!
Cincinnati Carpenters Provider Name Locked
came within a week! He fixed the window! The price was reasonable, too.
Not only am I reeling from the good service, my husband talked to
Cincinnati Carpenters Provider Name Locked
about some plans we have for the house we are buying, and it looks like we have found out contractor! I couldn't be happier :-)

"They are amazing!!
Cincinnati Carpenters Provider Name Locked
was responsive, great to work with, took time to understand our very different carpentry needs and designed a product to fit those needs. The price was reasonable and billing handled well.

"I purhcased a storm door at Home Depot and the purchase price was to include installation. The door was quite expensive. Their installers made such a mess that I had to find a carpenter to repair the siding.

"I called him to set up a time for him to review the work. He kept talking about how many jobs he had because of the special. He came over, reviewed the job and said no problem. He was supposed to call me to schedule the work. 2 weeks later I finally called him and scheduled. The job was to cover an opening in the ceiling, replace an interior door and hang some blinds. He arrived 20 minutes late. He talked on the phone quite a bit while here. In the 4 hours he spent 3 hanging the door (and talking), another covering the opening in the ceiling. I didn't get my money's worth.

"Lower tier of 2 section deck was sagging, causing flooring to rupture.
Cincinnati Carpenters Provider Name Locked
Long (owner operator) replaced wood and used carriage bolts to maintain the integrity of the deck after he jacked it up about 4 inches. He then repaired the flooring. Without asking he replaced or counter sank popped nails. ,
