Cincinnati Storage Facilities Reviews

C
"Having moved 10 times in almost as many years, we've become very moving-savvy. After obtaining 3 estimates, we went with
Cincinnati Storage Facilities Provider Name Locked
b/c they were one of the few companies who would provide a binding estimate for local moves (within tri-state metro area). Consumers be aware: the moving industry is one of the worst for consumer fraud, so learn about your minimal state & federal rights. Know that most companies will add-on charges on moving day, let you think it's your fault & they are legally within their right to exceed estimates to an extent. This did not occur with
Cincinnati Storage Facilities Provider Name Locked
. After coming to the house to take inventory (never do this by phone) & submitting a reasonable bid,
Cincinnati Storage Facilities Provider Name Locked
matched our lowest bid. They showed promptly on moving day and worked quickly and efficiently to load the truck. We had packed our own things and were moving many of the smaller boxes of breakables ourselves. We had them help minimally with furniture assembly/reassembly - removing mirror from dressers and reassembling at the new home, etc. They completed the work in one day as planned. There were a few problems - one major to us: several pieces of furniture were too large to be carried upstairs. Our biggest complaint here is that we had anticipated this might be a problem & specifically asked the sales rep who did our inventory about it & even invited him to survey the new house; he declined, and that cost us time & money to replace our box springs with split-box frames the night of our move. We also had to re-arrange furniture last-minute to accommodate larger pieces that had to stay downstairs. What a hassle!
Cincinnati Storage Facilities Provider Name Locked
offered to haul off and store our queen boxsprings - a small consulation given that they were both less than 1 yr old. Also of note, despite repeated (and polite) requests to lift not drag furniture on the newly refinished HW floors, several pieces were scooted in our presence which caused gouges in the floor. We reported this right away to
Cincinnati Storage Facilities Provider Name Locked
, who suggested we file a claim. We had our floor installer come out later to give us a bid and their recommendation was to sand and reseal the sections that were gouged. The cost would've been 1-2K and the claim probably would've covered this but we were not willing to endure another week or so of moving furniture, breathing and cleaning HW floor dust from the sanding and fumes from the sealant. So we're living with the gouges. On the whole,
Cincinnati Storage Facilities Provider Name Locked
could've done better with the initial inventory to determine we would indeed have a problem with getting the furniture upstairs - especially because we wonderd about it ourselves and asked about it specifically. They also could've been more cautious with the furniture - the pieces that were scooted were not large, and it was more a matter of one person wanting to scoot it himself rather than ask a coworked to help him lift it into place. Other than that, the crew who did the job were polite and hard-working and dealt very professionally with us when we were upset about the miscalculation on the furniture and the floor, as was the office staff. For that, I could give them a conditional recommendation to "use again" but buyer beware.

"The space was clean and dry and easily accessible (external unity). I thought $100 a month was a bit steep but is was near my home, etc. The manager was very friendly, knowledgeable, and helpful."

"They were very meticulous as to not damaged any of the wallpaper paint or any other part of the house on the way out or back in. The furniture came back in excellent shape. I dealt with them on three separate occasions and they were always very professional and a pleasure to do business with. I would use them again in a heartbeat. Overall a great experience."

"They were very up front with letting us know when we would need to give them notice and they didn't keep anything
Cincinnati Storage Facilities Provider Name Locked
from us. They also gave us all of our paperwork up front. The prices are very competitive, but I am not sure what we actually pay. They also offer climate controlled facilities which is hard to find."

"I didn't have time to look around for storage units to compare prices; I had 11 days to clean my house for staging and sale. After reading Angie's List's reports, I went straight to
Cincinnati Storage Facilities Provider Name Locked
. The staff was great and very attentive to detail. I have no idea how competitive their prices are, but I feel the cost is well worth it."

"They did a real good job on moving. They kept some extra furniture in storage for a little over a year and none of the furniture had been damage. Their prices were really really reasonable."

"The price was unbelievable. Just $30 for a month of storage. I expected a lot more. And the armoire was returned to me in the exact condition it left my house."

"Pod was delivered. To rent was $275. 00. We packed pod with belongings. It was taken to storage facility. 2 days before it was to be delivered, we got a call the pod had been dropped. It dropped 25 feet. We felt the response was very poorly. We got a refund. I expected a phone call telling me they would handle the charges. Their staff has been kind but ineffectual. The franchise owner I felt failed to service the customer. Our things sat upside down for 5 days before we were able to get to it with the insurance company. The insurance company was more responsive. The drivers were very nice, although they dropped the pod. The national company has been distant but fair."

"We had some issues, such as 3 people showing up instead of the 4 we scheduled, so it took longer than needed. But overall, nothing was damaged/broken. We paid them in full by check and parted ways. So today (January 10th, 2013) we received a call telling us we owe them money. Mind you we haven't heard a thing from them in 14 months! My wife was livid. They want payment for storage supposedly used for two months AFTER we moved in and want us to provide proof we don't really owe them. Unacceptable.

"I found UNITS of
Cincinnati Storage Facilities Provider Name Locked
while surfing the net looking for a portable storage unit that I could keep in my driveway for a few months while a remodeling project was going on inside the house. On the UNITS site I liked that I could get a quote right away even though it was the middle of the night. I also liked that they advertised that their units were made in America and they were a locally owned company. The quote also offered a months free rent on the unit if I rented it for 3 or 6 months.
The next morning I called the company and spoke directly with
Cincinnati Storage Facilities Provider Name Locked
, the owner. He was pleasant and helpful.
Cincinnati Storage Facilities Provider Name Locked
looked up our house up on Google maps to verify he could install the unit. We explained that we wanted the opening of the unit to be facing the back of the driveway so as to have easy access to the back door where we would be bringing things out of the house for storing. He said they would make sure that it was delivered that way.
We made arrangements to have a small unit delivered two days later, in the morning. His driver,
Cincinnati Storage Facilities Provider Name Locked
, called us to give us a 30 minute notice that morning as to when he would be arriving.
Cincinnati Storage Facilities Provider Name Locked
worked to place the unit where we wanted in the driveway. We appreciated that
Cincinnati Storage Facilities Provider Name Locked
suggested that we put some boards under the feet of the unit as the circular feet of the unit could leave an indentation in our blacktop driveway. Once the unit was placed correctly, he made sure it was stable and didn't rock, taking time to add some cardboard on the outside corner of the unit to guarantee it was stable. The interior of the unit was clean with a hard wood floor.
We will be keeping this unit for several months. I will do another review when it is time for the unit to be removed.
I was very pleased with UNITS of
Cincinnati Storage Facilities Provider Name Locked
and would recommend them to anyone who needs temporary portable storage.
