I waited over a month to get them to respond to me. I continually gave them the benefit of the doubt. I would never, in a million years let them in my home. The concept of a customer is lost to them and they are rude, cannot meet commitments and haven't a clue as to run and grow a business. The BBB should be called on them.

is the owner and constructed our deck himself. I can't say enough good things about him. From the plans to the permit process, everything was outstanding. He is a professional and his work shows his attention to detail (he also taught deck-building). We opted for treated lumber instead of composite for cost reasons, and I was concerned about the method of attaching the boards to the joists. I wasted a lot of time worrying for nothing. He uses screws and counter sinks them, and you can't even see them!! It's amazing! In addition, he framed in the balusters so no cut ends can be seen. What a nice touch that is. It really makes everything look neat with all those clean lines. We are so happy with it!!!

As noted above, we wanted an estimated for a bare-bones room addition; no flooring or tiling, no installation of plumbing or electrical fixtures.
Cincinnati Remodeling Contractors Provider Name Locked
's estimate for this 270 sq. ft. bare-bones shell addition was over $72,000.00 !!! That's more that $270./sq.ft. for an addition with essentially no interior finishing. His estimate was quite detailed, separating out materials and labor costs. We have done quite a bit of renovating/rehabbing on our own and are able to accurately figure the electrical and plumbing supplies needed for such a project. At retail costs, the electrical supplies would be less than $500.
Cincinnati Remodeling Contractors Provider Name Locked
quoted $2900.....nearly a 600%
Cincinnati Remodeling Contractors Provider Name Locked
up. The same was true for plumbing supplies. My son is a plumber in another state and he felt that the roughed in plumbing would involve about 2-3 days of labor.
Cincinnati Remodeling Contractors Provider Name Locked
quoted us $8700. for plumbing labor !! I don't know whether he thought that we were ignorant or just gullible, but prices like that are unethical.

Purchased Big Deal 9/21/11 - Only $50 for custom kitchen redesign, measurements and full set of plans! I was pleased with the consultation. The contractor was very helpful and even looked at and discussed other areas of the house. It took a while to get the plans. I even received a call from them asking if I had gotten the plans, which I had not - got them after that. Unfortunately, the plans showed changes we had not discussed and did not include the most important change I wanted done. Therefore, I did not proceed. This form doesn't quite work for my situation so here's some clarification of my ratings: Price - A for cost of Big Deal Quality - A for consultation; C for plans that did not include most important change requested Responsiveness - C - changes discussed not included in plans Punctuality - A for quick set up of consultation; C - took a while to get the plans Professionalism - A for consultation; C - that they called me to see if I had received plans yet I was very impressed with the contractor and hate giving him a poor rating. I think they would've done a better job except Big Deals often inundate contractors and they frequently can't handle the volume of responsed they get from them and end up disappointing consumers.

Cincinnati Remodeling Contractors Provider Name Locked
worked on my house in Indian Hill Ohio from September 2013 through March of 2014. During this time he performed a variety of repairs on the home as well as overseeing the work of a number of third party contractors that were brought in to perform specialty jobs on the property. He remodeled 6 bathrooms and made a number of improvements in the house to prepare for it for sale. Throughout the process,
Cincinnati Remodeling Contractors Provider Name Locked
ensured a high quality outcomes. I was living out of state at the time of the work and
Cincinnati Remodeling Contractors Provider Name Locked
was trusted with complete access to my property at all times. He ensured that the property was secure and protected while a number of people were brought in to do work in support of the project. He personally ensured the quality of work and timeliness of completion of work by contractors who were brought in for specialty jobs. He dealt with realtors who brought customers to the property and did a great job in ensuring that my needs were met during the remodeling and sales processes.
Cincinnati Remodeling Contractors Provider Name Locked
allowed me to work directly with him and was flexible and supportive as design choices were made. He made very good recommendations for changes and enhancements to the property which ultimately helped with its sale. I grew to trust
Cincinnati Remodeling Contractors Provider Name Locked
a great deal. He pays close attention to details and is very cost-conscious in the decisions he made for the property. When he could save me money, he did so in the way that I would have had I been there. He is knowledgeable and versatile and a great deal. I highly recommend

After purchasing a building for my business, I hired
Cincinnati Remodeling Contractors Provider Name Locked
to do some rehab and move a wall to expand a bathroom to meet
Cincinnati Remodeling Contractors Provider Name Locked
specs. I was not able to be onsite most of the time - he was informed he was expected to work unsupervised. He was told to inform me of any issues before acting. However, he seemed to feel it was OK to redesign my project when my opinions, or that of the architect, differed from his. When asked to undo some of his decisions, he chose not to acknowledge his poor judgement.
I needed a wall built to hide a service area. It was to be about 6ft wide and did not adjoin any other wall. The architect wanted this wall attached to the old ceiling, for stability, above the existing drop ceiling.
Cincinnati Remodeling Contractors Provider Name Locked
said, despite the architect's drawing, this wasn't necessary and it could stop just below the drop ceiling. I asked him not to repair the grid above that area and that I would get back to him the following day after talking to the architect. When I arrived the next day, he had repaired the ceiling and declared "no problem, we can bolt it to the bar". I'm still amazed this guy was suggesting we use a piece of furniture to hold up a wall. I felt no need to justify the architect's decision to
Cincinnati Remodeling Contractors Provider Name Locked
. I expected him to do as I instructed. The wall was redesigned, to avoid confrontation with
Cincinnati Remodeling Contractors Provider Name Locked
, to be self supporting, taking extra time, and in the process, I lost the space for a table, two chairs and a display case - representing a significant loss in income over time. This was my first issue with the guy.
I had a meeting with him to discuss what I wanted done in the bathroom. He didn't take any notes so I emailed him mine and asked that he acknowledge receipt. He did. I also sent him a diagram. When he installed the fan housing in the center of the ceiling, I referred to the notes that put the light in the center. He quipped "you could get a light kit for the fan". I had to tell him to move the fan - twice - despite the drawing. To avoid moving it the third time, he called the manufacturer. He told me they told him it was OK where it was. This meant keeping a 90 degree elbow in the exhaust duct, which the manufacturer's written instructions said was a no-no in the first 36 inches. Again, I compromised to avoid having another hole in the outside wall for the duct. When he billed me for 14 hours to install the fan, I asked him to provide a detail of the charges because it looked like he was charging me for his mistakes. He did not give me a break down - he didn't finish. The fan, itself, was still in the box and the damper was missing when I got the bill for the fan install. At the start, he said the damper was ordered. Two months later, he said he needed to order it. After billing, he said it would be ordered when he got paid.
Shortly after
Cincinnati Remodeling Contractors Provider Name Locked
started to plumb the sink, the building inspector stopped the project because the sink mount didn't meet
Cincinnati Remodeling Contractors Provider Name Locked
height requirements. I had to hire a master plumber per the inspector. I did pay
Cincinnati Remodeling Contractors Provider Name Locked
for what he'd already done. Three weeks later, when the plumber showed up, I was informed the toilet had to be relocated, too.
Cincinnati Remodeling Contractors Provider Name Locked
advertises tuckpointing as one of his skills - with no complaints posted online. But, I showed up one day and some other guy was smearing mortar across the joints with a
Cincinnati Remodeling Contractors Provider Name Locked
. Contract doesn't say anything about subs. I told the guy to clean up the mortar before it dried and he said he would. Next day the mortar was still on the bricks. The contract offers a guarantee. Didn't get fixed. But, I made the mistake of paying
Cincinnati Remodeling Contractors Provider Name Locked
because he promised to make it right. He walked away. 6 months later the mortar was cracking and falling out on the sidewalk - plus it was ugly. I paid for a steam cleaning and a power washing - didn't clean it up. I contracted a restoration specialist after interviewing 6 other guys who claimed they could fix it with power washing. It's been a huge drain on my time, not to mention my building had this ugly mess right over the front door. I paid $1200 for
Cincinnati Remodeling Contractors Provider Name Locked
's tuckpointing and $4200 to have it fixed. This repair was submitted to my insurance company. After reviewing the site, the claim was granted. The insurance adjuster cited contractor negligence.
When
Cincinnati Remodeling Contractors Provider Name Locked
didn't center a pre-hung door in the opening, I lost patience with him. He covered the jamb
Cincinnati Remodeling Contractors Provider Name Locked
on one side with quarter round, covered the space above the door with a larger quarter round and the other side of the jamb was flush to the wall with a ragged
Cincinnati Remodeling Contractors Provider Name Locked
of dry wall and no trim. This area would have public access - and this didn't even look normal. When I expressed dissatisfaction, he explained "it was heavy". I asked him if he was familiar the the concept of shims. In the spirit of compromise and unwilling to tear the door out, I suggested he build out the drywall on one side to hide the jamb instead of using quarter round - make it look more symmetrical, I'd be OK with the quarter round at the top. He was willing if I paid him more money. This wasn't artistic differences, this was a poorly installed door. At this point, I got a bill for unfinished work. I had decided I'd compromised enough. He mouthed off to me (in an email). I fired him.
I could never tell if he actually thought he did nothing wrong. It was pretty clear he wanted more money no matter the problem. He was hard to fire, too. He just didn't get it. It creeped me out.
I had a pipe burst in my home in October 2013 and needed a company to perform the dryout and eventual restoration work. After having another company perform the initial dryout, I chose
Cincinnati Remodeling Contractors Provider Name Locked
to perform the restoration based on assurances that new carpet could be installed in my basement as a result of the damages. What I failed to do was check Angie's List or the BBB before signing the agreement with
Cincinnati Remodeling Contractors Provider Name Locked
. The lack of any feedback on Angie's List, accompanied by the "F" rating on the BBB would have prevented me from choosing this provider. Lesson learned.
11/19/13:
Cincinnati Remodeling Contractors Provider Name Locked
previously assessed the dryout done by the previous contractor as insufficient, so they brought in additional dehumidifiers and cut out additional areas of the garage ceiling that was damaged, as well as cutting through drywall around the damaged pipe and in areas of my garage and utility room that were damaged.
12/3/13: After several attempts to reach
Cincinnati Remodeling Contractors Provider Name Locked
, the dehumidifiers were picked up and the rest of the demolition was completed (the scope of the initial demolition was miscommunicated to the worker who performed it). At this point, the plumbing in my study was exposed and I began the process of scheduling my own plumber to complete the pipe replacement, as the insurance company would not pay for the pipe itself or the labor to replace it. The worker informed me that
Cincinnati Remodeling Contractors Provider Name Locked
wanted to bid on the plumbing and that
Cincinnati Remodeling Contractors Provider Name Locked
would call me. This never occurred.
Once the plumbing repairs were completed, I then tried to schedule the restoration work with
Cincinnati Remodeling Contractors Provider Name Locked
. My voice mail messages and email went ignored, and when I finally reached
Cincinnati Remodeling Contractors Provider Name Locked
by phone to make an appointment, he didn't show up and didn't call or email with an explanation. Over the next two weeks, I left several voice mail messages and sent several emails, all of them ignored (I later learned that during this time,
Cincinnati Remodeling Contractors Provider Name Locked
invoiced the insurance company without ever showing me a written estimate of the repairs).
After deciding that I no longer wished to do business with
Cincinnati Remodeling Contractors Provider Name Locked
, I left a voice mail message with
Cincinnati Remodeling Contractors Provider Name Locked
and at the main office informing them of this. Both of these were ignored. Eventually I reached
Cincinnati Remodeling Contractors Provider Name Locked
by phone and set an appointment to terminate the agreement and give him the check from the insurance company for the work that had been completed. Two hours late,
Cincinnati Remodeling Contractors Provider Name Locked
showed up to collect the check and sign a termination agreement that I had to write myself.
If you value your time, your money, or your property, you will not do business with this company.

This company operates as a family business. The schedule was a little strung out - but the work was done perfectly and all work was done by skilled and conscientious workers. If you call J & T they will respond ASAP. We were never left with a hole in the roof that let in the rain!
If you are looking for a job well-done with quality materials by proficient workers, J and T Roofing and Siding will work for you.
They are not ruthless money-mongers who throw on the roof and some loose shingles leaving you with a shabby job that blows off in the next windstorm. The shingles exactly matched previous work by another roofer. The chimney has a beautiful shiny flashing and the new cover was expertly chosen and ordered.
If you want a fast and routinely done roof or siding repair - you might want to call the other guys. These are considerate people and in return, a considerate customer will get their best work at all times.
Recently, J and T returned to repair a hole left by a raccoon in the
Cincinnati Remodeling Contractors Provider Name Locked
they had put siding on . We thought it was wind damage but it was NOT. (by the way Critter Control is quite expedient in rac removal). They covered the hole with sheet metal and applied new, matching siding. There was no charge, as a courtesy for the recent job they had done on our roof.
I was also offered siding replacement at a fabulous price on the house at this time in exchange for replacing 5 casement windows. This venture is still being considered.
I highly recommend the work of J and T Roofing. Check them out!
