Moving Reviews in Cincinnati

Before our move I scheduled 4 separate estimates from different companies in town.
's was actually the most expensive out of the 4, but only by a little and he ensured me it would not exceed the given estimate. Since I had read terrible reviews online about moving companies way underestimating costs I decided to go with them. (I highly suggest you request an estimate + cap cost so you won't be surprised by the final bill!).
The guys were timely, incredibly kind and professional. The guys who drove the two trucks down were also very professional and respectful and all of our stuff was packed up with incredible care.
Upon unpacking we realized a drawer from our built-in dresser in the master bedroom had been looked over. I called
immediately and he apologized and promised he'd fix it immediately. He then went over to our old house to retrieve the clothes and shipped them to us in 2-days.
We would highly suggest using
's! Thanks for making a stressful move go smoothly as possible!

We scheduled two trucks and six guys as recommended by the sales associate and that turned out to be perfect, despite my view that we wouldn't need that many. He was also dead on for the time estimate. Other companies may low ball you to get you to commit but then surprise you at the end with a much higher final bill.
went out of their way not to do that. There were no
fees either. I emailed back and forth a few times to make sure any concerns I had were addressed and everyone I interacted with was polite and professional.
The team was actually a few minutes early, which was great. The first crew got started right away but the second crew was running late. The team leader (Jered) was totally awesome and up front about the delay and corrected the billing paperwork in writing before the job started and tacked on a discount too. This was very proactive and diffused any concerns that I had. The guys worked very efficiently and were polite throughout. My 8-year old was following them around and talking to them while they worked. No foul language, no smoking. They took apart our Ikea couch and Sleep Number bed and re-assembled it at the new place. They didn't damage a single thing.
The initial cost estimate was high, in my opinion, but at the end of the day the price is more than fair for the work, the trucks, the care, and the crew. The reviews on here are legit.

The estimate was accurate, the move was on time with two hard working men, who also unloaded in NC.

This company went out of it's way to make a brief stop for a cancer charity before leaving Cincinnati which was appreciated! When we noticed there was some additional items for the charity in Asheville, Leaders returned them to Cincinnati and
Cincinnati Movers Provider Name Locked
personally took the items to the charity. This a superior company that cares and goes the extra mile. We highly recommend them for a move.

The move out of the house in Cincinnati was OK; it happened more or less as promised and on time. The packing crew did a very good job on the items they packed into boxes (all of that arrived in good shape). Those are the only good things I have to say about this. Our furniture was not packed (or crated, except for one table top they recommended be crated, and I paid additional for that service), only padded (I guess this is their standard procedure), and by the time the furniture arrived at the destination there was considerable damage including non-repairable damage and outright missing items (pieces). Further, coordination of the shipment to its destination was an absolute disaster. We had provided a few day window during which we wanted it to arrive, and we were told that would be OK and no problem. We provided ample notice of that, it was about 90 days in advance of when we wanted it to arrive, so we thought this should provide sufficient time for scheduling. After that, Planes did a very poor job of communication and coordination. About two weeks before the expected arrival, they forwarded a final contract to be signed, for the shipment. It indicated guaranteed pick-up dates in Cincinnati, and then a range of arrival at the destination that covered a THREE WEEK PERIOD. But, they told us, that's just the way the (computer) system prints the contracts, to "not worry" the shippers knew our needed two day window for the arrival. Less than a week before it was to arrive, they advised us the pick-up date had been missed, and that the arrival would NOT happen inside of our desired window, that it could be anywhere from a few days, to a few weeks later. I then asked if they could still provide a couple days window of flexibility to avoid delivering on a day with extreme rain, to avoid water damage to the shipment. They said no, not even this could be arranged. So, at this point, we entered a three week waiting period where we could never arrange to be away or do anything that would take us out of the area, because it was possible they could show up with the shipment in as little as 24 hours notice. We had to simply sit here and wait and be available any day that was convenient for them. Well, as things would have it, the shipment arrived on the last day they said was inside "their window" (two weeks late for me) and they left no alternative for a rain day, and the day it arrived, we of course had strong and heavy rains through portions of the day. This caused further damage, and extensive delays on the day of the arrival. The delivery crew was also promised (and I paid for) 4 people, instead a crew of three arrived, one of whom had significant physical limitations and could not carry boxes or items into the house (he simply stood by and supervised unloading of the truck). I had in effect a two person delivery crew to carry into the house. Fortunately, I was able that same day to hire a local helper (at my own additional cost) to help carry items into the home, without that, they simply would not have finished (as it was, they went until 10 PM in pouring rains). They also promised (and I paid for) unpacking services, and none were provided, as the delivery crew was so short staffed. Again, I was able to hire a neighbor, on the spot, to help for the day to unpack the high value fragile items which had to be declared as broken or damaged during the arrival day, or my insurance I had paid to them would not cover damages (these were the items their crew were paid to unpack, but did not). In addition to this review, I will also be filing a complaint with the BBB. I expect to be reimbursed for the labor they did not provide, and for which I had to separately retain and pay. I should also be compensated for them missing their pick-up date that was on the printed contract. They have already reimbursed me for the broken, damaged and missing items; the amount is reasonable, but the process to get the reimbursement was painful and slow, and communications were poor. This company was totally unacceptable. I would NEVER recommend them (or United Van Lines as a whole) for a move.

I bought an angies list deal that was $190 for two hours, two guys and a truck. We told the guys we only wanted the two hours so they hustled in order to get everything we wanted to move in that time period. They did a great job moving everything.
The only complaint was that they lost the feet to our couch.. not a huge deal but something small.
We would use them again definitely.

Although, they were an hour late, they handled everything carefully, and the move went smoothly. They moved me in the allotted time with no additional charges.

It was the worse experience. They showed up three hours late. They took about tens minutes to start. The manager was on his phone talking to his co workers. So it took longer then it should. I took 85 percent of my things because we wasnt going to going to use movers at first. I had a couch, three box, three bed set and washer and dryer and some other things. So all together it was about 15 things all together. It took them 3 hours to get that much stuff and it was two people. So i couldn't imagine a full house. Something had happened where they set on the highway for about ten minutes. They drive super slow. It took them about 40 minutes to drive a 20 minute drive. When they got there they told me 60 dollars more when i talk to them on the phone and said they wouldn't give me my things into i paid the higher price .The same guy did most of the taken my items off the truck. The second mover the manager took calls. They put things all over the place. They put my son locker upside down and it fell apart. They put my microwave on my daughter dresser with a side sit and broke wood off and rub red paint on the sit which is white leather. They left there belts and other things at my house. They was mad because i wouldn't sign a paper that said it was no damage and i was happy with there services.

Everything, including my antique furniture was safe (a couple minor scratches). The movers were patient, listened to my concerns about certain pieces and took their time to make sure everything went smoothly. They were polite, professional and kept me calm all day.

The owner came to our home to see how much stuff we had and to give us an bid on the job. He said it would be hard to estimate the cost or time (any where from 8-12 or even 15 hours if we weren't packed well) since it was such a big move. He did give us a ball park figure of $3000 and that was about what it cost for the first move (read on for an explanation). The movers were very punctual, arrived right at 7AM and they moved FAST, but that is where the positive experience ended. They propped the front door wide open before we had a

to secure our pets and the cat took off; was lost for over an hour. VERY STRESSFUL! I told them the dining room furniture was brittle, an antique family heirloom, and please be very careful with it. They set heavy boxes on the table and broke 2 of the legs. Crystal stem ware was packed in U-Haul boxes with individual cells for glasses and wrapped in foam pockets. Two of them broke, but the movers said they were not liable for any items we had packed. They pulled the whole lock mechanism from our file cabinet out, along with the key. And they dented out brand new dryer badly, in several places, but it does still work. They brought 2 trucks (20 and 26 ft. long) but did not have enough room for all of our furniture and boxes. For 2 exhausting weeks, we made daily trips to the old house transporting items they weren't able to move, but some of the out door furniture was too big for our SUV and progress was very slow. It is a 45 min. drive from one house to the other. Five days after the move, we discovered they had unplugged our deep freezer in the basement which was still half full of mostly meat. It had completely thawed out and had to be discarded. I'm sure it was an honest mistake, the freezer was next to the washer and dryer which they unplugged to move. We still had a small truck full of items to move when I called the owner, to discuss the problems noted above and inquire about having them finish the job. He was belligerent and refused to accept responsibility for the freezer. He tried to tell me I had lots of small children running around unsupervised and they must have unplugged the deep freezer. I'm quite sure I only have two adult children and they were out of town at the time of the move. I asked him to finish the move for free and reimburse us for the lost food. I had pictures of the defrosted meat and offered to itemize the cost based on replacement from

's. He would not accept responsibility for the freezer or finish the move for free. Instead, he repaired the broken table legs and charged us another truck fee and hourly moving rate to finish the move. He then gave us a $200 discount off that $450 job, which was probably about the cost of the ruined freezer food. This move was a nightmare and I would not recommend this company! I only chose them because they were an A rated company with Angie's List.

I had heard such great things about this company and was very excited to hire them for our move. Unfortunately, things did not go as well as expected. First, they were an hour late because one of the mover's over-slept. When they arrived, Nat immediately apologized for being late, which I appreciated. They were very careful when moving our boxes and furniture out of our apartment, however, in hindsight I wish I had insisted that they use moving blankets to pad our furniture. One of our dressers was not padded and during the drive to our house, it moved in the truck and got chipped.
The unloading of our furniture into the house was very inefficient because one of the mover's wasn't feeling well (he complained about being hungry and hot) and stopped moving stuff for awhile. So for a bit, Nat was the only person unloading the truck. This made the process longer than expected. As a result of the other mover being tired, they had a very difficult time getting our heaviest pieces of furniture up to the second floor of the house. I was extremely nervous and worried that they might drop something.
Since one of the movers spent a good portion of the time not actually working, we were given a small discount on the price of the move. Nat was very apologetic regarding the behavior of the other mover and assured me that this was not a typical experience. While I understand that everyone has off days, I really did not appreciate the unprofessional behavior of the other mover. On several occasions, I found him sitting in my office chair in the house or on our couch, complaining about how tired and hot he was.
Again, Nat was great and he did everything he could to try to make up for the things that did not go so well.
