"They were supposed to clean the tile and grouting and all they did was send over some young kid to just kind of scrub the floors. I guess it is a cleaning service" and it is not really a tile and grout service. I was very disappointed. The guy who owns the company I guess hired this young kid and the kid said the guy wouldn’t come out and they send him out and he would have to leave. He had to come out the next day and he came at 12 o’ clock at night. It was a disaster. I would never use it. They are very undependable and took 2-3 visits to do it. I just had to wait and wait for him to show up. I think I wasted my money.

"We obtained 3 estimates from companies recommended on Angies list and selected
because the cost was the
and the owner" seemed very knowledgeable. The problems began with constant changing of dates when the service would take place. Because the work entailed taking out all the furniture and storing it in the garage, moving the pets out, and staying out of the first floor daily for a week, it required much effort and planning. The agreed start date was changed 3 times. The company used the installers to move the furniture rather than proper movers. While they were able to get the furniture in and out, they nicked some cupboards in the process. This was repaired in the end. When the work was finally completed, the new floor stain did not match the existing floor at all! We were told it would fade into the old floor color over time, at least somewhat. That does not seem likely. The more pressing problem was two fold. The existing wood floor was actually torn when a piece of wood was removed to use as a sample for type and color to match the new floor. This tear never could be repaired properly and was poorly fixed with filler. Secondly, a week after installation, there appeared several areas where the polyurethane actually bubbled up and pealed off. No explanation was made for the phenomena and the owner was pleasantly amenable to fixing these areas. After several weeks trying to schedule the work, now 6 weeks post initial installment, mysteriously MORE areas started to
away. The
rep was consulted and again, no explanation could be determined, short of accusing us of spilling something on
that caused the polyurethane to disintegrate. We even paid extra to have the commercial grade
polyurethane applied! The owner was baffled and subsequently cleaned and resealed the 2 rooms involved at no extra charge. The areas that peeled down to the bare wood are still noticeable and the cleaner used prior to the polyurethane application, was splattered dry all over the kitchen cabinets and counter (we were out of the house another week during this time). But we are finished! The owner was very agreeable throughout this entire nightmare. This company is very busy and we feel perhaps the job was just too much. Had we just done a recoat of polyurethane, it probably would have been ok.

Floor cleaning

Preserving the floors in your home takes a consistent approach to cleaning. Knowing the right way to handle each type of flooring and the materials needed to clean decreases the chance for damage.

Once your grout is clean, keep it that way by getting rid of its worst enemy: the mop bucket. (Photo courtesy of Christopher B. of Fort Myers, Florida)

Is that bucket of dirty mop water making your grout impossible to clean?

From the wall street journal online:

"Etiquette and tipping experts agree that tipping a contractor and his employees isn't expected because contractors offer to do a job for you at a specific price. Any extra money they would want would be built into their bid. Also, it's a business relationship rather than one where they are performing a personal service for you like a waiter or a maid. But if the employees do extra jobs around the house, then experts say it is appropriate to tip a cash amount equivalent to the task; "tip gifts" such as cookies and drinks can count. "The key to tipping is whether or not it was outside the scope of what was normally expected," says Mark Brenner, author of "Tipping for Success!"

My opinion is that a little bit of courtesy (snacks, drinks, expression of appreciation etc.) goes a long way and upon completion of their work you feel compelled by a job well done to offer a little extra in the form of a tip - go for it, but do not feel obligated.
?
I agree with your choice - this is about the only product that can realistically, for a large room, be taken out and cleaned up after a flood and reused, thouhg carpet can be if you strip it into smaller pieces to carry wet, AND you have somewhere to wash and dry it - that is usually the problem. However, bear in mind it still has to be done within about 2 days or mildew/mold will grow on it, and may or may not be totally removeable. My personal preferences - mostly because their products are consistent, the joints stay snapped together, and they are not overly soft (a problem with cheap vinyls) are Pergo, Tarkett, Armstrong. Whatever you buy, be sure it can come back apart - some plank products are not made with a self-adhering contact glue in the joints that prevent you from taking it apart again, and some brands their snap design, while maybe better at preventing joint separation, cannot feasibly be unsnapped without tearing or breaking it off. Also, be sure whatever brandname and product line you choose it 100% vinyl (other than the urethane surface protective layer) - many vinyl floor products have paper or fiber cores or other water-absorbing components. Remember that, on concrete, since it wicks soil moisture through it, you till need a 6 mil vapor barrier under the flooring and positively sealed all around the edges to avoid the risk of mold growing on the underside of the vinyl.
?
Agreed.  If you have existing cracking in porcelain you need to know the cause first.  I don't know of any reputable contractor that would dare install tile over existing tile.  Also, any manufacturer warranties for defects would be null due to improper installation.  Did the contractor offer this solution or did you ask for it?  The mear fact that he is agreeing to or offering it tells me you need to leave this guy for someone who knows what they are talking about before he does only half the job which will have to be redone in the near future, costing you more in the long run.

I get so many calls from customers that were talked into a "cheaper" way to do something only to find the work very sub-par.  The sad part is they are out the money they spent in the first place along with the additional amount I have to charge just to undo what the first contractor did before I can do it right.  This floor could end up costing you double what it should if it's not done right.

was first cleaned and a fan placed to dry grout while second bathroom grout was cleaned and fan placed to dry.
Then, a color stain was used to blend

The work was extremely professional. The service provider did excellent work and we would be pleased to use this company again.

returned my call promptly and scheduled a visit to our home to provide an estimate that he emailed to me the next day. My wife and I then visited his shop in Fort
Cincinnati Floor Cleaners Provider Name Locked
to choose from his many samples. We were required to pay a deposit of around $2000.00 when we placed our order and we were responsible to move all furniture out of the room prior to the installation. The hardwood was delivered a couple days in advance of the installation. The man who installed our new floor was named "
Cincinnati Floor Cleaners Provider Name Locked
" and was very personable. It was obvious that he took pride in his work and was a perfectionist. The new floor is beautiful and we couldn't be happier with the outcome. We also appreciated the 5% discount we received for being a member of Angie's List.

They did a great job. They were able to come out based upon when I was available. However, the scheduling was different than what they normally do with scheduling and I was concerned that they weren't going to be able to get the work done. In the end, they did make it happen & accommodated my needs.

I first had contact with this company on
Cincinnati Floor Cleaners Provider Name Locked
1st 2013. They came out to clean my couch. When they arrived and looked at my couch I was told it had to be Dry Cleaned instead of the steam clean because of the fabric. This is when
Cincinnati Floor Cleaners Provider Name Locked
disappears into my bathroom.
Cincinnati Floor Cleaners Provider Name Locked
explained the process and the difference between the two cleanings. I decided not to have it cleaned. He was very knowledgeable and professional.
As we waited (and waited) for
Cincinnati Floor Cleaners Provider Name Locked
to get out of the bathroom, we talked about the slate tile in my foyer and what it takes to clean it.
Cincinnati Floor Cleaners Provider Name Locked
told me what was involved and a ball park estimate. I remarked several times about the length of time
Cincinnati Floor Cleaners Provider Name Locked
was in the bathroom.
By then the smell was overwhelming and he hadn't even come out yet. When that bathroom door finally opened, I was literally gagging. I had also pulled up my shirt to cover my nose and mouth. I was p*****,
Cincinnati Floor Cleaners Provider Name Locked
kept apologizing.
I called the owner (
Cincinnati Floor Cleaners Provider Name Locked
) and explained what happened. He was almost speechless. Pretty much apologized and asked what he could do. I didn't want anything except to bring this to his attention and to address it. We talked a little bit about how he didn't even want his employee's to smoke because of the odor they bring into homes.
Although I had a bad experience the first time, I thought
Cincinnati Floor Cleaners Provider Name Locked
handled it well and decided to give this company a second
Cincinnati Floor Cleaners Provider Name Locked
.
About a month later, I called and set up an appointment to have
Cincinnati Floor Cleaners Provider Name Locked
do my foyer. I also decided to have my carpets cleaned.
We talked about who would come out with
Cincinnati Floor Cleaners Provider Name Locked
and it was going to be their only non-smoker,
Cincinnati Floor Cleaners Provider Name Locked
.
I made it clear that my first priority was my foyer.
Next came the problems.
Cincinnati Floor Cleaners Provider Name Locked
decided he couldn't do the foyer. They gave me the phone # of someone who could. After talking to this other guy, I decided not to use him. He was a commercial property professional but couldn't afford him to do what little needed to be done.
I called
Cincinnati Floor Cleaners Provider Name Locked
back, we talked, addressed
Cincinnati Floor Cleaners Provider Name Locked
's concerns over doing the foyer, and decided that
Cincinnati Floor Cleaners Provider Name Locked
would do it.
I told them I had to have this completed by Aug. 28th.
Over the next few weeks,
Cincinnati Floor Cleaners Provider Name Locked
would send his employee's out without an appointment or to clean carpets only or they would cancel because someone was sick/working out of town/died/family emergency.......
The final straw for me was on Aug. 26th. They never showed up and never called.
When I called to ask if they were running late, I was told that
Cincinnati Floor Cleaners Provider Name Locked
had tried to call me to cancel because of (pick one).
He never called me, he said he did.
The bottom line.....
The owner allows his employee's to call the shots. They do the job only if they want to. Make up excuses.
Unprofessional doesn't even begin to describe this.
I should never have given this company a second
Cincinnati Floor Cleaners Provider Name Locked
.
The guy crapping in my bathroom and making my home smell worse than a port-a-potty showed total disrespect.
And after the run around I got on top of this just shows the owner condones this behavior.
One good thing came out of this. I joined Angie's List afterwards.

I got them off Angie’s list. I rate them high. They are very honest. They come when they say they are going to come. They work very well. Their charges depend on the size of the house. My house has two floors and they charge me $150 each time they come. I think their prices are fair because they do top notch work. I have signed them up until they do not want to do the work anymore.

I had contacted them to paint the exterior of my mother in law's home, the interior, and also to refinish the wood floors in the home. He does not finish what is contracted for and he does not care about customer satisfaction. I would advise everyone to say away from them because they did not finish the job that has been contracted with us. He even took me to court because I would not advance him any more money before the job was done.

I called expecting to have to schedule a cleaning a few days ahead of time, and they were able to come out same day. Very patient and answered every question that i had (I had a lot since this was the first time I'd used a cleaning service). They arrived a bit later than the time we talked about, but got straight to work, worked very quickly and efficiently. They were very friendly and professional. They listened to the instructions we gave about which parts to avoid. I believe they used some kind of natural cleaning products, had hint of a clean vinegar smell, which disappeared quickly after cleaning was over. This was a big plus for me, as i like the idea of not using a lot of chemicals (which don't smell any more pleasant). They did a great job in cleaning. It wasn't consistently white-glove-test perfect throughout the entire house, but much of it was and any of the areas that were not perfectly clean were certainly not unacceptably so. If I had to sum up the whole experience: friendly and professional, great value (quality level relative to the cost), easy to do business with.
