Cabinet Refacing reviews in Cincinnati
Working with every step of the way, from making color decisions to figuring out what modifications/add-ons would be possible in our small space. He went above and beyond to make the kitchen exactly what we were envisioning, and we would highly recommend him to anyone looking to reface their kitchen cabinets. Pleasure to work with.
SALES PROCESS: We had our first, in-house meeting with the company president on 8/20/13, about a week after our first phone call. We received a very detailed, line item estimate just 3 days later, including clear descriptions and pricing for each of the additional options we discussed and estimate project length of 4 days. That’s right – not 4 weeks – but 4 days. They were extremely responsive to the various follow-up questions and additional options we asked to consider following the initial quote – responding to 4 separate emails within a 24 hour period. We made our final selections and agreed to move forward just one day later, on 8/24/13. Then, just 7 days later (and that includes the time it took to coordinate with our crazy schedules), he had his production team here to complete a very DETAILED and DOUBLE-CHECKED measurement of each and every panel, opening, door, drawer, etc. in our kitchen. They also spent time talking to us about the preferred (but not required) sequence of other work we were having done on the kitchen (e.g., floors, appliances, countertops) so that we could easily communicate and coordinate with all of the other vendors. They were already demonstrating their desire and ability to make the process and smooth and seamless for us aspossible. (Worth noting, they also offer to coordinate countertop selection and installation as part of their service. But, we had already made that purchase through an existing relationship with another vendor.) Given the quality and detail of this work, it’s not surprising they were here for about 90 minutes during this appointment. At the end, we were informed that our project could start on 9/30/13 and end on 10/3/13. How exciting!
SELECTIONS AND PRE-WORK: The doors/drawers are a solid maple, high quality construction. And, if you visit their website or showroom, you’ll see that they offer many different door and drawer profiles and colors. They brought a number of samples for me to look at during the first sales meeting and measurement meeting. They also have a showroom you can visit to look at what seems like infinite options. But, since we had a pretty clear vision of color and desired profile, it made it more manageable to make our selections through a few “house calls.” Where they went above and beyond was when I started having second guesses about the shade of paint I initially selected – especially once our new appliances and floors were installed.
THE WORK: Each day started bewteen 8-9an and ended between 3:30-4:30pm. On the first day they needed us to be there to go over paperwork and a pre-work inspection for about 15 minutes once they arrived. They were very clear about what to expect over the 4 days in terms of noise, access to the kitchen and even specific appliances, their hours, and what the kitchen would look like at the end of each day. I call it a “no surprises” work environment and they did that very well. I work from home most of the time – on the computer, on phone calls, etc. – and found I was able to work from my basement den – which sits directly under the kitchen – without any major interruption at all. I was even able to make my lunch in the kitchen 2 of the 4 days they were here. I probably could have done it the other 2, but honestly didn’t want to bother the work. Each night, we had access to our refrigerator and pantry. But our sink, dishwasher, microwave and oven remained fully masked on the other evenings. We knew that going in and planned our dinner meals accordingly. Our kitchen was sealed off from the house with plastic sheeting that could be pulled back easily (with a
THE RESULT: We’re blown away and could not be happier with the result. We’re convinced the finished product looks
1. Cabinets to surround the refrigerator were mis-measured by 1 foot. They tried to sell me on a workable solution that was not what I had agreed to. It took some negotiation to get what was promised. I think maybe they were very busy/overbooked. All worked out in the end and looks great.
2. Be very clear with them if they are to hook up any appliances or if you are to do it your self. I thought that they would be mounting my microwave and ended up doing it myself. Same with the dishwasher.
All in all, they are great contractors that perform fabulous work with good looking results.
