and his crew at
have been such a pleasure to work with. From the initial meeting and estimate, through project execution" and follow-up,
and his crew have been incredibly responsive, hard-working, efficient, and professional. We had been debating whether to replace our kitchen cabinets or to have them re-surfaced. After talking with
, we decided that having our cabinets painted and stained would be an affordable, yet high-impact option for our kitchen remodel. Now that
has completed their high-quality work, our cabinets look like they're brand new and we've already received a number of compliments on how great they look. We are so pleased with both the service we received and the final product, and strongly recommend
to anyone looking to renew their cabinetry. We will definitely hire
again for future projects.

Not really.  If the contractor is very careful and you are really lucky he might be able to pull them out and then reinstall them after the new cabinets are installed.  A lot of this will have to do with how well the counters were installed in the first place.  Also, the existing countertops may not line up with the new cabinets exactly in some areas as well as they do now.  The better option is to have the cabinets refaced, leaving the boxes and tops in place.  Unlless you have deteriorating particle board cabinets you should be able to get a carpenter to do this.  If you decide to remove the countertops and install new cabinets factor in new tops and be pleasantly surprised if they can be reinstalled afterall.  Realize you probably won't find a contractor willing to gurantee not damaging the tops.  If you do, dig in and research him well.  He likely doesn't have enough experience.

IF dirty enough to make for a musty odor, then paint won't stick to them properly anyway. Paint is not your solution - you probably need a Deep Cleaning. Try to pin down what types of smell it is - if damp, mildewy; rotten food; or musty fabric - will help guide you to the source maybe. Another thing to do is keep all doors closed for a full day when outside temp is such that furnace and A/C can be turned off - then walk around the house, sniffing - preferably with 2 people - and see if one room is the major contributor. I have played this game, and found all the following as sources of musty smells: 1) linen in a closet without ventilation going slightly mildewy 2) water leak in walls or floors enough to cause mold but not drywall staining or visible water 3) carpets needing cleaning 4) water leak in bath or kitchen leaking under floor, causing mold there which is not pronounced in smell because under the flooring 5) attic mildew/mold from leaks or moisture condensation on insulation/wood 6) moldy plants outside - left in garden/flower bed in fall, so rotted in winter/spring 7) clothes in closets touching outside wall, so in very cold weather acted as insulator and let freezing front come to inside of wall, causing frost and moisture to buildup there from the inside moisture, eventually causing mildew/mold (same process as condensation/ice on inside of windows with curtains over them) 8) failure to clean behind kitchen appliances and under sink, or under washer/dryer/dishwasher at least when repaired or changed out 9) heavy lint accumulation in bathroom fan going mildewy 10) grease trap in kitchen exhaust fan never cleaned 11) washing machine going moldy - run a cycle of towels or such with bleach and Borax 12) the number one cause I have found - clothes stacked in closets or hope chests or such for decades get very musty even if clean and ventilated

As long as the counter is big enough Corian is one of the easier ones to work with. Since it does not have the ground or crushed stone that some of the other material have you can work with normal woodworking tools. A saw with a fine tooth carbide blade and a professional grade router with the proper shaped carbde bit can be used if the edge needs finishing. A belt sander helps on cuts also. The only problem you might have is if you need the joint kits for seaming as I dont think you can buy them.

When Corian first came out I could buy the slabs and fabricate my own tops and then Dupont went to a certified distributor system and would no longer sell to those of us that had been working with it for years. I will admit that they did have reasons for this as not all that were working with the product were doing it right.

Cabinet Refacing reviews in Cincinnati

/We selected
Cincinnati Cabinet Refacers Provider Name Locked
based on his rating in Angie's List and we were not disappointed. He came for his initial visit about two months before the work was done. (The delay was based both on his schedule and ours.) He came prepared with details of what could be done as well as samples. We were very pleased with the variety of colors and doors available. And we liked his no pressure personality.
Cincinnati Cabinet Refacers Provider Name Locked
arrived at the promised time on Monday and was ready to go in a very short time. We had pre-emptied all the cabinets and, as he had suggested, it was a great opportunity to get rid of a lot of stuff that had accumulated over the years, especially in the drawers. The first step was to remove the cabinet doors which were discarded.
The rest of the project consisted on gluing on laminate over all the exposed cabinet surfaces and mounting new laminate covered doors. (The doors have new soft closing hinges.)
Cincinnati Cabinet Refacers Provider Name Locked
removed the drawers and took them back to his shop where new laminated drawer fronts were put on. I helped
Cincinnati Cabinet Refacers Provider Name Locked
a little from time to time bringing him laminate pieces, etc. I enjoyed this as
Cincinnati Cabinet Refacers Provider Name Locked
has a great personality and entertained me while he was working.
The whole process took three and a half days.
Cincinnati Cabinet Refacers Provider Name Locked
made sure everything was cleaned up before he left. We were left with the job of putting everything back into the cabinets and drawers but it was great to be doing this into beautiful new cabinets.
- TOM R.

This was a positive experience from start to finish. They stated what they could do, how they would do it and gave me a time frame. They were "on point" in every aspect of the job. A great value for the money and the quality of the work was OUTSTANDING. Very professional, punctual & courteous. I would highly recommend them to anyone.

We contacted Mr.
Cincinnati Cabinet Refacers Provider Name Locked
when it became clear that our previous provider was not going to complete the remodeling as we had specified. Mr.
Cincinnati Cabinet Refacers Provider Name Locked
came to our house after work on the day I called him. Although he was booked up to June he explained that he had three days of a week in April during which he would start the job. He said that if the cabinet doors and drawer fronts were in by those days he would work that Saturday to complete as much as possible. He did just that leaving only a few remaining items to complete. Mr.
Cincinnati Cabinet Refacers Provider Name Locked
finished the job on a subsequent Saturday and Thursday evening. We got even better that what we had expected to get from the first provider. Mr.
Cincinnati Cabinet Refacers Provider Name Locked
was always on time, cleaned up at the end of each day and completed the job much sooner than we expected.

It went very badly. We signed a contract on 12/3/13. He said he would start first week of January, 2014. We did not hear from him after numerous calls and requests to let us know what was happening with schedule. He came up with stories he was in the hospital and that he would start work on Feb. 24th. He did not call or show up. He called on the 25th, then appeared at our home on the 26th requesting the 2nd third of the payment for thge job. He showed up at our home on the 27th and 28th with a co-worker and spent about 10 hours total working . The kitchen was left dirty, dusty, and with his materials left all over. We could not use it or even walk in it without carrying dust and dirt to other rooms. He stated he would be back on March 3rd. He did not appear or call on the 3rd or 4th. He returned our call on the 5th, saying he needed to talk to us. He stopped in with a story about having problems with his bank, not having access to his money. He wanted more money from us. He said they would be back on the 6th at 8:30am. At 10;30 they showed up and worked a total of 12 hours over that day and the next. They installed 6 cabinet fronts and four drawer fronts on the 7th. After they left, we discovered they were not the style of fronts we selected. Every time they worked and left, the place was left a mess. They told us they would be back on March 10th to resume work at 8:30. In spite of numerous calls, he did not respond. On the 11th, we informed him we no longer would be retaining him due to his breach of contract and he would also hear from our attorney in the near future.

Working with
Cincinnati Cabinet Refacers Provider Name Locked
was a very positive experience. He is easy to reach over the phone or by email with questions (of which we had many), and for scheduling purposes. We absolutely love the finished product of our kitchen and bathroom cabinets, as well as the counters that he helped to coordinate. He was very helpful and patient every step of the way, from making color decisions to figuring out what modifications/add-ons would be possible in our small space. He went above and beyond to make the kitchen exactly what we were envisioning, and we would highly recommend him to anyone looking to reface their kitchen cabinets. Pleasure to work with.

were prompt, courteous, and careful in their work. They took every precaution in preparing the kitchen so the counters, floor and wall were protected. I welcomed their suggestions to make our cabinets look like new. We are very pleased with their work and the look of our kitchen. I would definitely hire them again for other wood renewal projects.

Our experience with
Cincinnati Cabinet Refacers Provider Name Locked
was excellent – from the first contact to their final post-project check-in visit.
SALES PROCESS: We had our first, in-house meeting with the company president on 8/20/13, about a week after our first phone call. We received a very detailed, line item estimate just 3 days later, including clear descriptions and pricing for each of the additional options we discussed and estimate project length of 4 days. That’s right – not 4 weeks – but 4 days. They were extremely responsive to the various follow-up questions and additional options we asked to consider following the initial quote – responding to 4 separate emails within a 24 hour period. We made our final selections and agreed to move forward just one day later, on 8/24/13. Then, just 7 days later (and that includes the time it took to coordinate with our crazy schedules), he had his production team here to complete a very DETAILED and DOUBLE-CHECKED measurement of each and every panel, opening, door, drawer, etc. in our kitchen. They also spent time talking to us about the preferred (but not required) sequence of other work we were having done on the kitchen (e.g., floors, appliances, countertops) so that we could easily communicate and coordinate with all of the other vendors. They were already demonstrating their desire and ability to make the process and smooth and seamless for us aspossible. (Worth noting, they also offer to coordinate countertop selection and installation as part of their service. But, we had already made that purchase through an existing relationship with another vendor.) Given the quality and detail of this work, it’s not surprising they were here for about 90 minutes during this appointment. At the end, we were informed that our project could start on 9/30/13 and end on 10/3/13. How exciting!
SELECTIONS AND PRE-WORK: The doors/drawers are a solid maple, high quality construction. And, if you visit their website or showroom, you’ll see that they offer many different door and drawer profiles and colors. They brought a number of samples for me to look at during the first sales meeting and measurement meeting. They also have a showroom you can visit to look at what seems like infinite options. But, since we had a pretty clear vision of color and desired profile, it made it more manageable to make our selections through a few “house calls.” Where they went above and beyond was when I started having second guesses about the shade of paint I initially selected – especially once our new appliances and floors were installed.
Cincinnati Cabinet Refacers Provider Name Locked
my concern, they didn’t hesitate to schedule time to bring by every version of white/off-white sample they had for me to view with my new kitchen features so that I would feel completely confident with my choice. About a week and a half before the project started, we got a detailed email confirming the work, outlining what we needed to do to prep for their arrival (what needed to be out of the kitchen, what could stay, etc.) and explaining what we could expect over the course of the 4 day project. They called the day before to reconfirm everything and see if we had any questions. We were good to go.
THE WORK: Each day started bewteen 8-9an and ended between 3:30-4:30pm. On the first day they needed us to be there to go over paperwork and a pre-work inspection for about 15 minutes once they arrived. They were very clear about what to expect over the 4 days in terms of noise, access to the kitchen and even specific appliances, their hours, and what the kitchen would look like at the end of each day. I call it a “no surprises” work environment and they did that very well. I work from home most of the time – on the computer, on phone calls, etc. – and found I was able to work from my basement den – which sits directly under the kitchen – without any major interruption at all. I was even able to make my lunch in the kitchen 2 of the 4 days they were here. I probably could have done it the other 2, but honestly didn’t want to bother the work. Each night, we had access to our refrigerator and pantry. But our sink, dishwasher, microwave and oven remained fully masked on the other evenings. We knew that going in and planned our dinner meals accordingly. Our kitchen was sealed off from the house with plastic sheeting that could be pulled back easily (with a
Cincinnati Cabinet Refacers Provider Name Locked
magnet feature) at night. They installed a temporary exhaust fan in our kitchen window to help keep dust and the odor to a minimum. We were amazed at how little got through the plastic enclosure. We were able to check-in on the work each day and were pleased with the progress. Each morning we went over any questions we had and they were very responsive and wanted us to be completely happy with the work. On the final day, there wasn’t anything we had on our punch list that they hadn’t already handled or had on their list to complete/fix. When all was complete, our kitchen was clean and nothing had any damage or overspray – floors, counters, appliances, walls were all in great shape. They provided a thorough closing review with details about the warranty, suggested care and maintenance, etc. Their customer-friendly attitude was there from minute one and never wavered.
THE RESULT: We’re blown away and could not be happier with the result. We’re convinced the finished product looks
Cincinnati Cabinet Refacers Provider Name Locked
and more beautiful than if we had torn out our old cabinets and replaced with new. The optional upgrades we selected (listed above) really took our kitchen to the next level. As far as we’re concerned, we got an incredible value for the dollars spent.

When I first contacted CCR,
Cincinnati Cabinet Refacers Provider Name Locked
came out and gave us an estimate. We decided to go ahead with the project and
Cincinnati Cabinet Refacers Provider Name Locked
, owner of CCR, came out and confirmed
Cincinnati Cabinet Refacers Provider Name Locked
's measurements. We had to wait about 6 months to get on his schedule because this was a fairly extensive job, but he called a couple of weeks before he was scheduled to start, confirmed that we were still expecting him on the scheduled date. Three days before the start date, he called to remind us that he was coming and that we needed to empty the cabinets. He and
Cincinnati Cabinet Refacers Provider Name Locked
arrived promptly and went right to work. The job took 5 days and we could not be more pleased with the results. Our kitchen (which had white cabinets) now has cherry cabinets and they are gorgeous. The original cabinets did not go all the way to the ceiling and when I commented that I wish they did because the tops were just dust catchers,
Cincinnati Cabinet Refacers Provider Name Locked
said they could build a box to go to the ceiling. Then
Cincinnati Cabinet Refacers Provider Name Locked
suggested that he put doors on that box and put glass fronts so the tall cabinets could be used for display. I really appreciated their suggestions because I hadn't thought about those possibilities. They cleaned up after themselves every day and left the kitchen in a condition that allowed me to cook meals without too much disruption. I can give
Cincinnati Cabinet Refacers Provider Name Locked
Refinishing my highest recommendation.
