They had a technician at my house the next day. He fixed the problem, removed all of the built up ice in the freezer, and explained why it was leaking and gave some hints on how to prevent these leaks in the future.

We had been down a long road of bad advice, lost food, and wasted diagnostic visits by other contractors. One contractor even blamed US!

So, he diagnosed and repaired in one service call. He worked quickly but with care. It's been running great since and we even tested it by leaving it open a while. There was a bit of frost on the back but then the defrost motor kicked in and it worked like it was supposed to.

Day's sent out one of their technicians who said he could fix it. He agreed the controls were bad. I filled him in on the entire ordeal (two months had passed by this time). Day’s said that the repair was very time consuming and difficult and that's why in his opinion the other two appliance repair companies (
Day’s submitted their estimate to First American - I am just guessing the repair was north of $500 - and First American gave them the OK to repair it. Day’s ordered the parts and when they came in, Day's called and scheduled the repair.
It was a big job to rewire it and Day’s was here for a few hours. But when it is all said and done, as Day’s promised, they said they could fix it and they did. Days’s people were real professionals and knew exactly what they were doing.
