Window Replacement Reviews in Chicago

Our experience started well: our building has a leak in a number of windows and we weren't sure if it was an issue with the building/brick or the windows themselves. I called
who was able to come out right away and recommended work that did not involve replacing the windows, which we were very pleased about. He promised us a quote by the Tuesday of the next week, and sure enough, the next Tuesday I got a voicemail requesting my email address in order to send the quote.
That's when things went south: I called back the same day and left a message with my email address. By the end of the week I hadn't gotten a quote, so I called again, left the email address again, and requested a callback to insure they got it/sent it. Nothing. The next week I called
to ask for his help. He texted me back that he would get in touch with them right away. Still nothing. It has now been 3 weeks since that initial visit and they are completely unresponsive. I will not be doing business with them, and would not recommend them to anyone else.

At the Glenview Sidewalk Sale on 6/28 we spoke with a representative of the Home Improvement Network about getting our gutters replaced. He said he would have several vendors call us for estimates. On 6/30/14 we set an appointment with
to come to our home. The appointment was set for 7/8/14. On 7/7/14 the young lady called to confirm the appointment for 7/8 at 6pm. She insisted that both homeowners had to be present or they would not come to the house. We confirmed that we would both be present. On 7/8 no one showed. We called the Home Improvement Network on 7/9 to tell them of the no show. We also told them we didn't want to hear from
On 7/16 the young lady called and left a message. She wanted to set up an appointment for a siding estimate. I called her back and told her of our experience. She told me they didn't come on 7/8 because we hadn't returned her phone calls to confirm the appointment. I disagreed with her. She apologized and told me she would talk to the Manager. She promised a 10% discount on our project. She asked for my e-mail address so that she could send a confirmation with appointment details. She was also going to send us $50 restaurant gift card. I set another appointment for 7/21 at 6pm.
We never received an e-mail, a gift card or a visit.

came out to my home to give me a quote. He was incredibly helpful and informative even though he couldn't service my windows because they aren't a dealer for the manufacturer. I am so thankful for his help and would use them in a heartbeat in the future.

Evergreen's estimate was a little higher than other companies we contacted, BUT the opener they were suggesting was better and they included the replacement of the rotted wood around the door. That made their estimate the best value. When the workers came out they completed the work on the door and opener and removed the old door and opener while we were at work. Just came home and found the new door. Everything was cleaned up beautifully.. But the rotted wood was still there. We called them and they told us that different workers would be out soon to replace the wood. Sure enough, in about a week the wood was replaced and flashed with aluminum. Now the garage looks great, and the new opener is terrific too.

LDS did great work and was very affordable. I was especially impressed with them as they steered us toward less costly repair work rather then replacement. Highly recommended.

Recent heavy rain storms had water coming in through my front door. Searching Angie's List under both "weatherstripping" and "doors," I came upon this highly recommended company. When I called them and explained my problem, I was told curtly "We don't do anything like that." Maybe they shouldn't be listed under "weatherstripping," or maybe there is another term for keeping water from coming in under your door. I fear this will be another do-it-yourself project.

Buyer beware! I purchased a "Big Deal" on Angies list to replace a basement window. The next morning I received a call asking if I would like to set up an appointment for a quote. When I explained it was a basement window well and/or window I was told that
Chicago Window Installers Provider Name Locked
does not do basement windows and I should contact Home Depot or Lowes! When I originally searched "basement window well replacement"
Chicago Window Installers Provider Name Locked
was the first to come up so I am not sure if this mistake is by

called back the same day and we arranged for an in-home estimate the same week. He was well versed in the company's products, explained all the options in clear,

's terms and was able to suggest a good solution to our replacement needs. His suggestion regarding the French door was very creative and worked very well.
The installation went very smoothly and the staff were very respectful of our property and our ears (no loud radios blaring throughout the day!). The work site was cleaned up completely and the entire job was completed by 3:30pm.
I would recommend Scientific to anyone interested in new or replacement windows or doors. Even if they aren't selected in the end,
