Everything about this place is wrong. I called to make an appointment and it seemed to be a struggle to understand that my dog needed his yearly shots, including rabies. I finally got him an appointment. I called his old vet to fax the records over, then called
to confirm the receipt of the records. They confirmed. When we arrived for the appointment, they claimed they didn't get the records. They also acted as though we were inconveniencing them by being there. After a long wait, we were called in. Our dog kept finding and eating things off the floor. Everywhere was dirty. I have no idea if he was eating medicine or treats. I was really worried. We need a few different shots, but since he was just over a year, some of them needed to wait. We knew this going in but wanted to make the appointment anyway. They were really stuck on the fact that we were 'wasting' money and should do all of the shots later, all so we could save $20. Seariously. $20. We got what we had to get and got out, I don't remember what it was, but we didn't feel it could wait. We never went back and never will.

We loved this vet! We mostly saw Dr.
, but saw a couple of others on an emergency basis. Everyone is very nice and very professional. We took our dog here as a puppy to get neutered, get his shots and a couple of other things that came up with a new puppy. We had to stop going to this vet because we moved. They were very professional and helpful in getting our dog's records transferred. I always reccommend them to new animal owners or anyone looking for a vet!

I feel incredibly fortunate to have found
Chicago Veterinarians Provider Name Locked
and only wish I'd found them sooner. I brought my cat in after I noticed he wasn't eating well and had lost some weight. Dr.
Chicago Veterinarians Provider Name Locked
examined him and recommended blood and urine tests since it had been some time since they had been done last. (It was also the case that I wanted to have my cat's teeth cleaned and having recent blood work prior to this is generally recommended since the cat will be under anesthesia.) I appreciated I was given a couple of options based on extensiveness of the tests and related costs. I was also informed about options to

on additional tests later if preliminary results raised any concerns.
Dr.
Chicago Veterinarians Provider Name Locked
immediately put my cat at ease with her gentle demeanor, and I can say the same for every single person on the staff who assisted with his examination. He was pampered and even purred throughout his blood test.
This story ends sadly as my cat was diagnosed with advanced lymphomic cancer. However, I cannot say enough good things about Dr.
Chicago Veterinarians Provider Name Locked
and the staff at the
Chicago Veterinarians Provider Name Locked
. At every step I was given the information and support I needed to help my cat feel better and live out his final days enjoying the company of his family.
I would like to add that I was also impressed by the administrative staff at the hospital who were always able to quickly retrieve my cat's file and assist with my requests in an efficient and informed manner. They certainly did a lot to minimize the stress of this otherwise difficult time.

Riser could not have been better! It's not that price was our only motivation, but when our former vet wanted to charge "at least" (in their words) $1200, we thought we should look for a second opinion.
After setting foot in Riser, we could tell right away that it would be a good experience. The waiting room and exam rooms didn't have that "dirty animal" smell, the staff was professional and quick to take our information and it honestly seemed that our dog was more at ease here than his former vet.
Further, once we met the vet, Dr. Sutkay, and saw how he got right down on the floor with our dog and made friends with him while doing the exam, we knew we found our new vet. Then, on top of all that, they were so much more reasonably priced - we were blown away!
I almost regret writing this review because I don't want the vet to get too busy. But every pet owner deserves to have this type of experience at their pet care provider.

We have used cats-only practices for our cats for many years, since a bad experience with a dog vet who mis-diagnosed cystitis and we almost lost our cat. One cat needed his rabies shot, and the other is hyperthyroid, and there aren't any cat-only vets in our new neighborhood, so looked for a vet in Angie's List.
We will be taking the cats back. Dr.
Chicago Veterinarians Provider Name Locked
was knowledgeable, kind and thorough. She was aware of a fairly rare syndrome suffered by one of our cats and gave both thorough exams.
We intended to take the dog to this vet in the spring, when her shots are due, but she started exhibiting signs of a urinary tract infection and Uptown was able to see her right away, even though they hadn't seen this particular animal before. We saw Dr.
Chicago Veterinarians Provider Name Locked
again and she was just as good with the dog as she had been with our cats. We got meds and cleared up her problem immediately.
The facility is clean, doesn't smell (of animals or disinfectant), and the staff is courteous and professional. We got good, competent veterinary care from a very good doctor. This will be our vet.
The only thing that's a bit of a problem is that this is on

street with no parking lot. There has always been on-street parking, but I use a walker and in the snow and slush, it can be difficult. It's a small price to pay for good vet care, however.

I think dog owners fall into three categories: those who have them as guard dogs, those who have them because other family members want them, and those who love their dogs so much they are an extension of the family, and in many cases, will treat their dogs as children. I fall into the last category.
My rottweiler had survived an amputation due to osteosarcoma and two years of happy life after that. Unfortunately he made it two years and three months -- which by all accounts is an amazing survival rate for osteosarcoma. When the time came for him to be euthanized, I turned to Dr. Shanan, whom a friend had referred after her own experience for the same purpose.
Dr. Shanan was amazing. He is not my regular vet. I visited him on a Friday afternoon distraught over my pet's sudden downturn. Of course Dr. Shanan told me that he couldn't give a professional opinion without seeing my pooch. (I couldn't bring him to that original visit because he was 90 lbs. and he could no longer help me help him into the car, even with a harness, and I had no one at such last minute to help me.) I returned on Monday with my little guy after a weekend of terrible pain for him. Dr. Shanan clearly saw that I had not had sleep all weekend and recommended that both me and the dog get some rest in one of his exam rooms. This also gave him a

to observe my pooch's pain level and overall malaise.
By the end of that session I knew what had to be done, as difficult as that conclusion was. Dr. Shanan scheduled me for the following evening. This allowed me to alert people close to us who wanted to come say goodbye. As painful as it was, the entire experience was beautiful, and not at all gruesome. Friends and family members were able to visit my little guy on his last day. And you know what? He knew it was time, and he was ready for it. I think Dr. Shanan's compassion, knowledge, and peaceful demeanor helped my dog to let go. I think Dr. Shanan did the same for me.
While I have focused on Dr. Shanan throughout this review, I want to also acknowledge his staff. The people there were absolutely amazing, from the moment I walked in that Friday afternoon until the day I picked up his ashes.
If you have a pet whom you treat like family and want to ensure that it is comfortable in its final moments, I highly recommend Dr. Shanan. Having an in-home euthanasia is not gruesome or as sad as one might think. I'm glad that my dog passed in his own living room surrounded by loved ones rather than on a cold steel exam table in an unfamiliar environment.

I called Dr Shanan's office on Saturday morning about coming out to my house to put my suffering pet out of his misery that day, and fortunately he was able to come as soon as he finished with his appointments in the clinic that day. He arrived when he said he would, and was very professional and compassionate. My cat was not always welcoming to new people, and he understood and made the process as quick and easy as it could be. I appreciate the service of coming to my home to make my cat as comfortable as possible in his last moments, and despite the extra cost, would pay it a hundred times over again. They also sent a nice card later in the week expressing their sympathy. Very classy. Thank you

Dr
Chicago Veterinarians Provider Name Locked
and her technician
Chicago Veterinarians Provider Name Locked
visited us at our home yesterday. I had been recommended to
Chicago Veterinarians Provider Name Locked
by another vet as our 13 year old cat,
Chicago Veterinarians Provider Name Locked
, completely freaks out when we take her anywhere outside the house, which raises her blood pressure and gives the vet an inaccurate picture of her health.
The service provided was absolutely fantastic. Dr.
Chicago Veterinarians Provider Name Locked
let
Chicago Veterinarians Provider Name Locked
get used to her, made sure to get the most stressful test out of the way first (blood pressure test) and then examined
Chicago Veterinarians Provider Name Locked
. The results really speak for themselves,
Chicago Veterinarians Provider Name Locked
was normal on blood pressure and healthy everywhere else. We had a nice chat on my couch about possible meds moving forward, and then they were done.
They listened to my concerns during the exam, didn't waste a minute of my time and even sent me a lengthy followup email based on some questions I had.
Chicago Veterinarians Provider Name Locked
could not have been better taken care of, and in the comfort of her own home. I'll definitely have them back in the future.

22, I needed to say good bye to my beloved black lab
Chicago Veterinarians Provider Name Locked
. I knew the day was coming for 2 months, since I had an ultra sound done and found out he had bladder cancer, TCC. I interviewed two other vets before finding Dr
Chicago Veterinarians Provider Name Locked
. She showed me the compassion and sympathy that the other two vets didn't. My dog loved Dr
Chicago Veterinarians Provider Name Locked
, and wasn't into the other vets. I was so happy with the decission of picking her. She was accomadating and prompt. It's a hard day, and she made it as good as it could of been. If you need to euthanize your pet, use Dr

Great. Perfect. Ideal.
Dr. Dobner and her assistant were prompt, provided expert care, a thorough exam, and were very gentle with a frightened cat.
Without hesitation, I would gladly call on Dr. Dobner in the future.
Thank you very much Dr. Dobner!
