"The best is that they kept in communication with me during the blizzard. A previous service let me down last blizzard, so I was worried. But they explained they" would be starting to clear as soon as the roads were safe and kept in phone contact. By midday my snow was all cleaned up. The guys were very friendly, too.

"On the phone he sounded responsive for snow removal service, but showed up for an estimate days after he said he would. Then, I never heard from him again. At least" he could have told me "sorry I can't do this job." Very unprofessional to just blow someone off after you've offered to submit an estimate.

Snow Removal reviews in Chicago

We called and scheduled an appointment to get a quote/estimate. Rep from the company came and looked at the the following week. Very nice guy -- great representative for the company. He gave me the impression this was a straight-forward job and something that they do frequently.
However, I was a little confused when he ...More was unable to give any indication of pricing after looking at the . Though, he gave me the impression that he'd get back to me with a quote shortly.
A week passed by. I emailed, no response. I called and left voicemails -- they called back, but not with a quote. "Later today or tomorrow" I was finally told on Wednesday. After not receiving a quote by Thursday afternoon I called again and left a voicemail, no response.
Finally, I called again on Friday morning and said that I needed a quote by noon (winter is coming!) otherwise I was going to find another provider. I received a call at about 2-3pm that afternoon.. Finally, I thought, they have a number for me. Nope. They were just calling to say they still didn't have a quote.
What the heck?.. If you're a snow removal company, shouldn't you be able to provide a quote for snow removal pretty easily?
May not seem like a big deal, but time is money and they completely wasted over two weeks of me and my neighbors' time.

We never utilized this firm's services as costs requested were WAY high compared to other firms. $75 per 2" to 6" removal / salting for a small Chicago single-family property. Came to over $2,000 for the season. Provider would not negotiate at all.

They have two types of contracts, Standard and Priority, and the difference was not made clear initially. (See below.) They also have a "come now" option, which doesn't work at all. When I asked about this, the response I got was, "We need to clarify that on our website."
After understanding the Priority option and switching ...More to it (at a higher cost) things went okay, but not great. Most days they wouldn't shovel until the afternoon, evening or even night, which did not help with getting to work in the morning. However, once they came they did a great job.
At one point our building association changed our service, upgrading again (frequency), but changed our contractor, who did a horrible job. Sometimes not showing up at all, or doing only part of the property when they did. We had to call after each snowfall. We complained by phone and email with no resolution.
We ended up cancelling the service.
This service would be okay if:
(1) you don't need to leave for work in the morning
(2) get assigned a good contractor.
"Standard" means they come out within 24 hrs after the storm has ended.
"Priority" means that snow is cleared every time there is an accumulation of 2 inches or more.
2-4 inches $55.00
5-8 inches $57.00
9-12 inches $81.00
13-18 inches $115.00
19-24 inches $149.00
25-36 inches $192.00
37-48 inches $249.00
49-60 inches $322.00

This was the first year we used Niegebauer for snow removal, and with the winter we had, are we glad we found him!
did an incredible job -- our section of sidewalk was always the cleanest on the block. All the agreed-upon areas were cleared perfectly and in a timely manner. ...More always left behind a detailed service report for our records and operated in the most professional manner at all times. We found his prices extremely reasonable ($120 per visit for snowfalls of 2-6 inches or $160 per visit for snowfalls of 7"-12" depth) and himself a pleasure to deal with.

we've been in our old house for 13 years and it had 4 layers of old roofing on it. Our job was not an easy one. did a good job of removing the roof and patching up areas of rotted wood on the roof where it was needed. As well, it was necessary to replace playwood almost the entire roof of the house. As I believe happens ...More with the majority of construction type work, there were a couple of issues in regard to fixing some aluminum trim flashing on the house, however that was correctly quickly by Champion.
Thankfully, had documented the additional cost wood repairs with photos prior to the new shingles being put on. So, bottom line is this. Our roof looks great and I would highly recommend .

We used them for the first time this season, and they handled an obviously very tough snow removal season very well. They were easy to communicate with when I called about signing up with them, very easy to communicate with on their first visit, and regularly sent out bills with weather reports attached. They did a prompt and thorough job removing ...More the snow, accommodated all of our special requests, and found places to put all of the snow, including tossing it over a fence.

On the first day that I called of approximately 8 - 10 inches of snow had fallen. Although I was not one of his regular customers, sent two men to shovel my property within 2 1/2 hours of calling. They shoveled the front city sidewalk, the walkway to the front steps, the front ...More steps, the walkway between my neighbor's house and my house, and the backyard walkway which had approximately 15 inches of snow from the blowing and drifting of previous storms. They also scraped to the ground the ice from all surfaces from previous snowstorms. Finally, to leave completely safe surfaces, they salted all exposed areas. Both of these gentlemen worked very efficiently to complete the shoveling within 30 minutes.
I highly recommend this company, and I will continue to use their snow removal services when necessary.

We contracted to take care of the snow removal at Coop Fitness. In all the years we've been in business this has been the worst winter that I can EVER remember and the snow removal this winter has been exceptional! Our walkways are always shoveled and salted by the time we open, keeping everything safe for all of my gym ...More members. After firsthand experiencing the quality of work and promptness from I am overall very satisfied with them. They have also previously done a great job of fixing some drainage issues, holiday lighting and mulch/landscaping work as well! I would highly recommend them! - Meluch -Owner
