They were very punctual. They came out when they said they would in the morning. Their sales agent was very professional. The installers were the main people that I dealt with. I've used them before for siding, so I knew the company. They also had a fair amount of good reviews on Angie's ...more List. They did a very nice job. I don't think they were the lowest in price, but they were reasonably competitive. I had checked out a couple of other companies too. The quality of their work has been very good so far. It looks good. I don't have any problems with the windows.

"We hired KB Construction 7 months after they completed our home addition to build our new garage. KB constructed a garage to accommodate 2 1/2 cars with additional space attached for storage of bikes, toys, etc. with a 7' x 7' service door facing into the yard. KB's employees were always on time, professional, courteous and kept the yard and work space very clean. They made sure to keep the yard as safe as possible for my young children during construction. The garage took a little longer than expected to complete but overall we were satisfied with the project. The end result is a beautiful garage built with the same quality work as our home addition."

"Overall the project went well. KB was always on the job and always kept an open line of communication between us and the architect. KB always responded immediately to phone calls and e-mails with answers to all my questions. KB often had solutions and ideas to any problems or issues that unexpectedly came up. KB's employees are very talented, professional, knowledgeable and courteous. The finished carpentry is amazing. We had lots of built-in shelving, wood trim detail and cabinets added to our home and KB did a fabulous job constructing them according to the architect's specifications. "It was a good price for what they did but they were not entirely upfront and honest about the time frame and what they were planning to do. There were definitely some kind of confusions and miscommunication around that. I also had a somewhat negative experience when I mentioned them redoing the door to the gate and we didn't agree on anything. "They showed up right on time for the first appointment. We reviewed the projects and they gave me an estimate on the spot. I was surprised the price was low because I heard they would probably be a little high. I was planning on working with them so we setup a second meeting to discuss specifics (materials, colors, etc.) The second meeting didn't go so smooth. The salesman called me three hours before the scheduled time and said the appointment prior to mine canceled so he was able to meet me right away. It was 3:00 pm and I work until 5:00 so I told him I couldn't and it would have to wait until 6:00. He called back 15 minutes later and said something came up and he would have to reschedule. He rescheduled and said he was bringing the Foreman who would run the project to discuss all details. When they arrived we discussed one portion of the job. I went inside the house for 1 minute and when I came back the Foreman was gone, I was told he had a family issue and had to leave. When we continued the discussion the sales guy couldn't answer the questions and said the Foreman would have to come back and answer my questions. I never got a

to talk to the Foreman because before the sales guy left I told him I needed help finding the right color siding and needed to see different samples. He said to call him when I found it. I guess I wasn't straight enough when I told him I needed his help in seeing different samples. He never called me back and I wasn't going to chase him down. They almost had the job."

"I requested an estimate on re-siding two triangular gables (one above the garage and the other near the house roof line). Later the same day I received a call that an estimator would be in the area and could assess the job, if I would be home in the afternoon. This seemed like an exceptionally prompt and efficient response, so I was initially well disposed toward the company. After arriving and examining the damaged, old aluminum siding, the estimator asserted that either the job would need to be done in white aluminum (the original siding was colored a rusty red) or a shift to vinyl siding was required. I posed varied questions to learn the rationale for this claim. The estimator offered no sales presentation; arrived with no samples of siding (aluminum or vinyl); provided no description or systematic exposition of siding quality or company work practices; and refused sharing even a ballpark price by the end of his visit -- instead insisting that I await a written quote. He was verbally disorganized, apparently unfamiliar with leaf guard gutters, and sometimes downright confrontational. He made assertions that on the face of them seemed arbitrary, then I needed to follow with questions to learn the underlying reasons for the claim/s. The estimator was even sarcastic and abrasive at times. I neither trusted nor liked him. He produced an email bid $800 higher than one from a competing firm with whom I eventually contracted. When I eventually connected with one of the co-owners to complain the next day,

modified the bid by $300 and delivered a sample of the proposed vinyl stock to the house for my consideration. While

was responsive and apologetic, the damage was done. Moreover, the revised bid remained $500 higher than one eventually offered by another highly rated Angie's List contractor. I believed a more constructive working relationship was likely with another firm. Overall, the bidding process itself was an unpleasant experience."
