"I went for 6 weeks and they did a great job. My back is much better. My physical therapist was
(yes, a female) and she was very knowledgeable." She gave me excellent advice and many exercises and stretches to do at home. Her bedside manner was excellent. She was extremely encouraging yet wasn't afraid to push me when I needed it. Her assistants (
, Becca, and
among them) were also extremely knowledgeable, efficient, and friendly.
at the front desk was very helpful, efficient, and knowledgeable when it came to billing and insurance coverage. My experience was very positive and I'm glad I chose
. I had several choices for where to go for physical therapy and I made the right one!

"Went very well. Staff is very friendly and professional. Also has a
interest in making sure that patients get better. I often go for massage" therapy and have gone a few times for PT.

5 questions to ask before starting physical therapy

Are you in need of physical therapy? Make sure to ask a prospective physical therapist these five questions before making a hiring decision.

Physical therapy

A physical therapist evaluates, diagnoses and treats parts of the body that aren’t functioning properly, are healing or need rehabilitation, whether they’re athletes, the elderly or the rest of us.

Rehabilitation - Physical Therapy

On this episode of Chat with the Experts, Brian Pease of Body One Physical Therapy explains how physical therapy can help with chronic pain and much more.

Improved flexibility can make it easier to hold proper positions and reduce the risk of injury, says Lewis. (Photo by Karen Geswein)
Rehabilitation - Physical Therapy

To avoid repetitive motion injury and a need for physical therapy, frequent position changes and simple stretches are important at the computer or on the road.

Degenerative disc disease can lead to a chronic debilitating condition and can have a serious negative impact on a person's quality of life, says Strader. (Photo courtesy of Advanced Physical Therapy Center)
Rehabilitation - Physical Therapy

Degenerative disc disease is a normal part of aging for the spine that can be extremely painful. Physical therapy can help strengthen your back and reduce pain.

Carpal tunnel syndrome occurs when the median nerve, which runs from the forearm into the hand, becomes pressed or squeezed at the wrist, says Strader. (Photo courtesy of Advanced Hand Rehab)

The pain in your wrists and forearms that comes with carpal tunnel syndrome is fortunately something that can be avoided with a few simple habits.

Physical Therapy reviews in Chicago

Chicago Physical Therapists Provider Name Locked
is everything I've ever wanted in a doctor. I have been seeing him for about a month now and I feel continually indebted to him for all the support, care, time, and energy he has put into helping me heal. I'm 28 and I have had lower back pain for two years now with a disc herniation at L4-L5. After going to a chiropractor at Southport Grace and Wellness my pain got worse. The doc eventually ran out of ideas and told me I might need to simply rest my back. After a month I thought I should be more proactive and so I went to a DO who prescribed some meds (the typical steroid pack and NSAIDs) as well as an order for physical therapy. I did some searching and knew from the reviews on YELP that Lakeview Chiropractic, namely Dr.
Chicago Physical Therapists Provider Name Locked
, did physical therapy in addition to chiropractic adjustments. I made an appointment with Dr.
Chicago Physical Therapists Provider Name Locked
, feeling quite jaded at the time, but was incredibly impressed with his intellect and compassion. He spent a lot of time helping me understand my disc herniation from the causes to even the biochemical pathways involved in the pathogenesis of the disease, where my drugs and diet came into play and routes to recovery. He is the epitome of a doctor who practices holistic medicine. He has helped me discover my vitamin deficiencies, find appropriate exercises for each muscle involved in my condition, he switches up adjustments and muscle stimulation to find which techniques work and which ones don't, and he is incredibly hardworking, a great listener and PASSIONATE about helping his patients recover. His positive nature is infectious which is so important when you're going through pain and have set-backs from time to time. I've been to other chiropractors who see three patients at a time so I was impressed when I realized that he provides one on one time with his patients. I highly recommend setting up an appointment with Dr.
Chicago Physical Therapists Provider Name Locked
especially if you need a new perspective and insight on how to help your body heal itself.

Chicago Physical Therapists Provider Name Locked

Very happy customer-- so grateful when had been loosing hope for being able to return to running.

They are incredibly welcoming office. As I'm there twice weekly I've gotten to know the office staff and Dr
Chicago Physical Therapists Provider Name Locked
well. I'm quite leery of doctors, but feel very safe and well taken care of with Dr
Chicago Physical Therapists Provider Name Locked
- elisa T.

I got their name as a personal recommendation actually. Dr.
Chicago Physical Therapists Provider Name Locked
Chicago Physical Therapists Provider Name Locked
is my doctor. He and everybody else have really been great. They are very attentive and provide a great level of care. They determined that my hand didn?t need surgery. They have done a really good job repairing my hand. The physical therapy department is great. They have been doing therapy on my hand to reduce the scar and make sure that I regain the use of my hand. It has been really good. It has been one of the best doctor-experiences that I?ve had. I had a little experience before them, and it was very unprofessional; that may be making them appear even more professional. They have got a great administration. Everything runs smoothly, like clockwork. They are always on time, and I?ve never had to wait there. The people around appear to care. It has been a great experience. It has really helped to have found them. If I were to have a problem again or if any friend asked me, I would not think twice about recommending them.

I fractured my ankle in January - Dr.
Chicago Physical Therapists Provider Name Locked
, who is an incredible orthopaedic surgeon, took care of my ankle. He made it so much easier than the emergency room did. He took off the cast they gave me & gave me a walking boot. Told me how to take care of it without the
Chicago Physical Therapists Provider Name Locked
of a cast! It healed great. Dr.
Chicago Physical Therapists Provider Name Locked
has also performed 3 knee surgeries on me & is a great & very caring doctor. He also does not rush you into a surgery. I know I need a knee replacement, but he is telling me to put it
Chicago Physical Therapists Provider Name Locked
until the last possible second (instead of rushing into it like 2 other doctors wanted to do!)as it is not an easy thing to go through & it only lasts an average of 10 years.
- Mary C.

I had a knee replacement and she not only provided very good knee rehabilitation, but also worked on my one sided back weakness due to years of limping and an uneven gait. Her rehabilitation exercises are effective and her manual therapy not only feel great, it speeds healing.
- margaret W.

They therapists that I used were very nice and helpful, but the front office staff could be a little friendlier. I was able to make an appointment anytime I wanted, which was nice. They were easy to talk to and helped in scheduling things. They were also very accommodating if I needed to come in early because of work.
- Kathy S.

Over the course of treatment,
Chicago Physical Therapists Provider Name Locked
was very patient, attentive to what I was experiencing and supportive of my recovery process. She was always ready for each appointment with new exercises and ways to incorporate them into my daily life. Her goal was my recovery. With her guidance I was able to finish treatment ahead of schedule and have a routine of exercises that I can use daily to maintain my strength. This particular Athletico office was professional and welcoming. Additionally, the facility was always clean. Unlike chiropractors who often try to rope you in and make sure you become dependent on their services, a physical therapist will help you solve the problem and learn the needed movements/work-outs to ensure that you can prevent the problem in the future.
