He is friendly, knowledgeable and thorough. It is a pleasure to have him for my opthalmologist. I have complex corneal issues and he has the knowledge and ability to deal with them.

He was thorough with examining my eyes and he answered my questions. I liked that while he's examining me, he's also dictating to the assistant to type in his findings as he examined my eyes. The only negative thing I can say is I don't think he washed his hands before seeing me. They didn't exactly smell clean. Would I go see him again? yes, but I'll ensure he washes his hands before touching me. Most of the office staff that I encountered were friendly and informative.

I had developed a sty on my lower eyelid which did not seem to be improving. After checking on Angie's List for an ophthalmologist close to home I called Dr.
Chicago Ophthalmologists Provider Name Locked
's office to see if I could get an appointment ASAP and given one later the same day. After treating my eye by injecting it with a steroid the doctor gave me an ointment to apply twice a day and advised that it should clear up within a couple of weeks. In just a few days I was pleased to see a marked improvement..

I have been going to him for 11 years. I have an appointment with him in two weeks. He was referred to in a newspaper a few years ago as the doctor?s doctor. He is nice and personable. His personality and his knowledge makes him a good doctor. He really knows his stuff. I have full trust in him. I did not trust all the other doctors that I saw because they would tell me different stories. We make a three-hour trip one way just to see Dr.

Chicago Ophthalmologists Provider Name Locked
. I liked the practice a lot. There are several physicians associated with this practice and all of them are extremely professional. The waiting room is very comfortable and big. The staff was very helpful and professional. They have an efficient system in place, which gets in the patients on time even on a busy day. The only issue is that the place is not brightly lit. I still like the practice and will use them in future.

My primary physician recommended Dr.
Chicago Ophthalmologists Provider Name Locked
as a new eye doctor for my annual eye exam. The location was convenient and I've always liked all the doctors and staff I've met at Northwestern Memorial Hospital. I was able to get an appointment very quickly. I thought I was the first appointment of the day but had to wait a while to be seen. The waiting room was modern and spacious. Once called, the opthamology assistants worked pretty quickly. The eye exam itself seemed very routine. The Dr.
Chicago Ophthalmologists Provider Name Locked
came across as very competent and helpful. Overall, I wasn't blown away by the office and staff but up to that point, there was nothing to prevent me from recommending to others or scheduling there in the future. Until...the billing problems started. I will avoid this office like the plague in the future simply because of the incompetent, unhelpful and rude billing department staff. Never in my life have I had a billing problem with a doctor's office until now. Basically the story goes like this: they keep sending me invoices for a test that my health insurance should cover. I have called, left half a dozen messages with two different people, and finally talked to one staff member who said blandly that they would "send something in." That was over two months ago. Still, the bills keep coming and my phone messages go unreturned. My health insurance company is baffled - they can't help me because they haven't received any follow up paperwork since June. Now my unpaid bill is about to affect my credit report so I have no choice but to pay it. I feel like I've been robbed and completely taken advantage of by this doctor's office. There are many good eye doctors in Chicago - most with better office staff. Skip this one unless you're prepared for a battle.

Scheduled my appointment 6 weeks in advance because I am only in Chicago for two months a year. I knew I needed a new prescription for reading and distance glasses, as it had been 8 years and I was having headaches and eye strain. The nurse came in first and did the standard eye chart exam, but I felt she was very thorough. Then, Dr.
Chicago Ophthalmologists Provider Name Locked
came in to check her results and tweek them if necessary and perform the remainder of the eye exam (optic nerve, glaucoma, etc.). I told Dr.
Chicago Ophthalmologists Provider Name Locked
that I was very sensitive to new prescriptions, and the main problem I had in the past was with the base curve (6) of the lense. However, I was planning to purchase my glasses from his office so that if there was a problem, it could be easily fixed. He turned and stared at me for a few very uncomfortable moments and finally said, "If you are sensitive to the base curve and a new prescription, then I do not want to deal with you." I was shocked. All I was saying was that he had to write the prescription in such a manner that the optometrist would follow it exactly, and not try to pass off a base curve 8, or something else and then have to redo them. He was incredibly rude, arrogant, kept telling me to stop talking, and insulted me in a way one would never expect from a physician. I almost begged for a new prescription, but he ignored me. He forced me into the dilation part of the exam, partly because I was still trying to get a new prescription for glasses and thought that if I went along, he would see that I was not crazy fussy, just needed the glasses to be right. I kept asking him why he refused and he said to me, "Because I am too smart." Well, I have a PhD in mathematics and took his remark to imply that 'he was too smart to take on the challenge of fitting a woman with glasses who has sensitive eyes.' I left there in tears, and in shock. Then he sent me a bill for $400, which I am disputing. Disputing a bill from a doctor when insurance is involved is a hassle. I may not have time to pursue it, but I am trying. And I still need new glasses! He is a jerk. Do not waste your time and money.

I am very pleased with the work of these surgeons, and with the entire
