Landscaping Reviews in Chicago

We used
's plan as a jumping off point to consider all possibilities. Although we did decide to cut some large tree roots to enlarge the planting area, we basically used her idea to create a much more attractive and sustainable front yard.
had been very helpful in suggesting appropriate plants for the amount of light and space with a nice balance of bushes, plants and vines. Although we used a gardener already employed by our association since we felt some loyalty toward that person,
's ideas were the spark that improved the front area - and for which she declined further payment. She was a very comfortable and easy person to work with.

I contacted them through Angies list on 6/24/14
responded to my Angies List email and said they were busy catching up but would contact me.
As of 7/21/14 I have not been contacted.

Bought the Angie's List deal for a yard design.
Chicago Landscapers Provider Name Locked
was very easy to work with and gave us a great idea to move the path that we really hadn't though of. This opened up the yard and created a bigger play area for our son. She was receptive to our input and even let us tweak the design in a few places to better meet our needs. We signed the contract to have them do the hardscaping but held off on the various plants due to our budget. The team was timely and professional. I thought they kept the work site safe and fairly clean, picking up after themselves at the end of each work day. I think it took four days in all.

was onsite a couple times and worked with me to make sure I was happy with where the path would go. We also made a running change to part of the design and used some blue step stones instead of brick in one area. I was later able to work with the business office to adjust the invoice accordingly since materials changed.

and team also did a nice job coordinating with Topline fence, who was installing some wrought iron during the project and also did a great job. Not sure how much this kind of work should cost, but it wasn't cheap. However, we are very happy.

I live in Chicago and contacted
Chicago Landscapers Provider Name Locked

Sunshine after seeing their website on the internet. Because of the
restraints of water usage and physical challenges that I recently
had, I wanted to have a design that allowed low maintenance but was
aesthetically appealing in the front of the house. In the backyard,...More /> I wanted to have flowers and lighting that would accentuate the
flowers at night.
I am so pleased with the work of

Chicago Landscapers Provider Name Locked
. He cared and treated my lawns as if they were his, I get
numerous compliments for the landscaping design and plantings in the
front and back of the house. It is amazing that with the use of
privets, plantings, lighting and hardscaping that a work of art was
created. This company has some of the most dedicated and caring
workers. They are punctual, creative, and dedicated to make sure
that you are satisfied with their work. I am tremendously
satisfied! And I highly recommend this
company for your landscaping needs.
The best part of this is that I have a
neighbor who suffers from multiple sclerosis and the affect that the
yard has on her. Due to this condition, she sometimes have
difficulty getting outside. One day I was in the yard and she was
sitting on her deck. She called me over and told me that she misses
being out in her yard, but when she can't get downstairs to sit on
her deck, because she is having a difficult day, she looks out of her
window into my yard. She said that when she feels a little low, she
enjoys looking at my yard. She says that it

her mood for the best. And that every night she enjoys looking at
the colored lights against the roses.
Thank you

I called
Chicago Landscapers Provider Name Locked
on or about 6/5/2014 to inquire about having our landscaping removed and re-done. At her request I sent her pictures of the area to be re-done. I never heard back from her and sent her a follow-up email on 7/9/14. To date I still have not heard from this woman.

Chicago Landscapers Provider Name Locked
was an outstanding service. I had three different landscaping companies come out to give us estimates and opinions about our backyard, which was a mess. Of the three,
Chicago Landscapers Provider Name Locked
was the only one who arrived on time, which is important to me. Additionally,
Chicago Landscapers Provider Name Locked
was very friendly and gave me his honest opinion of the work. He wasn't just there to give me a quick estimate and go, he was invested in the direction we wanted to take our yard and offered his professional advice. I received a quote shortly after he left. Of the three they were somewhere in the middle, so I would rate them as a competitive option pricing wise.
I was very impressed by the estimate meeting, but I was blown away by the actual work. Due to weather we had to start a day or two late but they were very prompt in letting me know of the delay. On the service date the team arrived on time and incredibly had the work done in around six hours. They left no mess behind and let me spot check the lawn with them to make sure they didn't miss anything I wanted done.
We are now a month in and our lawn is the envy of the neighborhood. Instead of having an ugly back yard that I am afraid to show I can now have people over with pride. The sod has held brilliantly and everything looks great. I still can't believe these guys could craft such a beautiful lawn from the pit that it was before.
I will go no where else but
Chicago Landscapers Provider Name Locked
for my future landscaping needs.

I waited over a month for this appointment today (7/9/14). When I called and left a message asking him if he was going to keep the appointment, he returned my call and apologized that he had been on vacation and somehow double booked for this day & time. It boggles me that a landscaper would plan a vacation during what should be their busiest time of year. I guess he's just not "hungry" enough to need the work. I will look elsewhere on Angie's list for a landscaper that truly needs the work.

We contacted
Chicago Landscapers Provider Name Locked
in May to come out and give us an estimate of lawn care maintenance and services. Their first available appointment was for two weeks from when I called. The NIGHT BEFORE they were suppose to come, we got a call that "something came up" and they wouldn't be able to come anymore. I told
Chicago Landscapers Provider Name Locked
who had called me that we were very disappointed as we had waited two weeks and now they weren't coming at all (and I had scheduled my work calendar around it) and she basically said sorry, they were too busy. Then she called back and said
Chicago Landscapers Provider Name Locked
could come out over the weekend to give us an estimate. When
Chicago Landscapers Provider Name Locked
came he was friendly enough and gave us an estimate a few hours later via email. We thought we were all set up with services and ready to go until we realized that no one had come to mow our lawn by the end of the month or do the Spring Clean up as agreed to in our contract. We called their office and they apologized and said they didn't know what happened and we must have fallen off their schedule. They finally started to come but were VERY inconsistent. One week they came and then they skipped a few weeks, then one week only did the front yard. They did not clean up any trash or trim the hedges as the contract said. My neighbor even commented that she saw them come and go in 90 seconds. I had to call multiple times to remind them to come and then most recently they came on a Saturday night at 7:30pm waking up our baby who had gone down to sleep and disrupting our neighbors. I emailed
Chicago Landscapers Provider Name Locked
on numerous occasions and he never wrote me back. It was only after I would call their offices that I could get anyone to respond and even then half my questions were never answered. If you live in the city I would think twice before using them – they clearly do not prioritize those that live in the city and you get a very strong feeling that your business isn't good enough for them. Overall, we were very disappointed with how we were treated.

I reached out to several landscaping companies in May.
Chicago Landscapers Provider Name Locked
was the only one who indicated he was available. He came out and said he would send me an estimate with a draft. I did not hear back so I contacted him, he explained that he was very busy but apologized for the delay. The original cost was 3xs my budget. So I did not hear from hear again and he apologize because he was busy. He said he would contact me and if I could be patient he would be available near the end of June. Every week I made contact. Finally he said he would start June 27th. I contacted him June 25th, he apologized because the rain delayed things and he would start on Saturday. I contacted him Saturday and he asked if I could be patient and wait until June 30th. Unfortunately, I had enough of the false promises to start.
The delays were expected, but it is unprofessional for you not to contact the person. I sent the emails, drafts, pictures and I followed-up to make everything in the process smooth. In return I received an apology. No more apologies - just learn how to run a professional service with realistic expectations and friendly follow-ups with the customer.

Do not waste your time trying to get ahold of them since they do not even answer their phone! They just stopped coming, despite my having a written service agreement because they said my card was declined but that is not the case because I had the receipt they mailed me saying the services were paid for! Terribly disorganized. And just a mess to deal with. Move on. Choose another company to mow your lawn.
