I emailed a detailed request to the owner asking for an appointment for an estimate on some projects, which included:
1. Updating 2 bathrooms (tile, paint, fans)
2. Tile floors in the basement
3. Replace/repair drywall
4. Update/repair front stairs and door
I give the owner credit for responding in the same day. However, he emailed me a one liner, "We don't do outside work." Thank you for informing me that you don't do outside work and I can respect that. My disappointment and dismay came from his lack of response to the other indoor projects that I listed. If these were not the kind of projects he was interested in doing, then I would have appreciated him stating so. A one liner kind of response suggests a lack of professionalism for me.

took my money to rehab a condo and I did not hear from him for 6 weeks! I kept calling and he did not call me back until I threatened legal action. He came back to the condo and gave me a receipt from his friend at Diamond Paint and Glass showing he ordered the cabinets for kitchen and bathrooms and the receipt was fraudulent and he never ordered the cabinets. He did the same thing with the tub! He did the demo and that was about all he did. He kept asking for more money and because I was on a time frame, I gave it to him. He showed up at best once a week. I was a fool. The condo was uninhabitable and I had to hire a new contractor to do the job. I gave
$50,000.00 and he did nothing but lie and
me out of money. He even stole the new garbage disposal!!! I had to pay a second time for new cabinets and tub. don't ever use him unless you have money to throw away.

Overall I would NOT recommend this company as I did not have the best experience working with them (mainly
Chicago Kitchen And Bath Remodelers Provider Name Locked
& Iwona). In hindsight, I would have preferred spending more money and working with another vendor. From the start,
Chicago Kitchen And Bath Remodelers Provider Name Locked
was 30 minutes late to our first meeting, which should have been my first sign that I should not use them. His list of estimates for all of my bathroom fixtures was way off; in fact the guy I worked with at Studio41 basically laughed when I showed him what
Chicago Kitchen And Bath Remodelers Provider Name Locked
estimated. And I didn’t get high end stuff! There was only one item he was under on, the shower door. Everything else was OVER budget! I really think he just pulled these numbers from his head as they were nowhere near correct. So I ended up being way over my budget. If I hadn't already paid a $3000 deposit I would have backed out at that point and would have taken my business elsewhere.
Now for the actual start of work. I had asked for my tiles staggered but they began to install them straight. Iwona then convinced me to keep them straight because of course they didn't want to go back and re-do the work and the tiles would have been ruined which the cost would have fallen back on them. Honestly in the end straight worked but it was still frustrating. They said the work would be done in 6 days (by Saturday) then Tuesday...then Wednesday...didn't end up being complete until the following Monday evening. When I came home on Wednesday night I found my door had been unlocked after they left (they also broke the key to my apartment so I had to get that fixed which they paid for but still annoying). I then realized that night the work was still not complete. I then emailed them to find out when they would be finished. There were some cracks in the grout, a shelf that was not put in the vanity as well as a scratch in the vanity, a messy paint job behind the toilet and ceiling, a space in the floor between closet and door, and some other minor details that needed to be fixed. When I emailed Iwona and
Chicago Kitchen And Bath Remodelers Provider Name Locked
about it they seemed a bit shocked that there was more to be done as if they thought everything was complete. They asked for a list of items and stated they would come back in two days to finish, NOT the next day! I was pretty upset to hear this when I found out (it's pretty difficult living in a 1 bathroom apartment without a shower for 2 weeks). When Iwona arrived on Friday with the worker she admitted to be embarrassed at the way my bathroom looked. When I returned on Friday the work yet again was still not done. And the things he did "fix" you could tell they were fixed and they looked VERY sloppy. They then sent a different worker out the next Monday to finish the work.
All in all, though I am happy with the end result, I am not happy with how it took me to get there. If I had to do it over again, I would not use them, nor would I recommend them to anyone else.

My condo was flooded by a sewer backup. I contacted a couple of contractors and
Chicago Kitchen And Bath Remodelers Provider Name Locked
provided the most timely and processional services. They are very responsive and patient with all my questions and requests. Highly recommended!

was nice and this is a good way to start the process of a kitchen remodeling project, but his process involved sending us around to several different places and we weren't really looking to go hunting around to several different places to get our job done. We sort of just wanted a one stop shop for everything, which is something he definitely doesn't offer. But overall, worth the 50 bucks.

We have had Darek do several projects in our condo, including most recently a remodel of our mast bathroom. Darek is the very best. He is professional and friendly. His work is outstanding: the tile job was an art of perfection, trying to make sure the tiles lined up in the best design, without small cuts, etc. He was eager to solve problems as they arose. His prices are fair and he gladly works with you on budget. I cannot imagine a better contractor in Chicago.

I hired
Chicago Kitchen And Bath Remodelers Provider Name Locked
as a general contractor for construction of my four-unit building. They got the work done quickly with some tenant occupied units finishing full unit remodel jobs in a few weeks, while working with the tenant schedules. They’re responsible and will come back to touch up any little things if need be without having to call them over and over. The design and price were great! I ended up getting a tremendous return on the investment because of substantially higher rents after the work was complete. I would highly recommend
Chicago Kitchen And Bath Remodelers Provider Name Locked
and Skyler as a general contractor.
This was an investment NOT a cost!

's pricing was slightly higher than that of the only other serious quote I received for the job. He was great at the contracting stage, providing quick updates to the contract, and he fit my job in quickly. I also liked that he agreed (for $100) to add me as addititional insured on his insurance.

and his assistant did decent work on the vanity and wall cabinet installs and cutting of mirror frames, including installing 2 inch quartzite countertops (a somewhat delicate material) with undermount sinks and plumbing hookup. That was the most important part of the job, so at least they did complete the most major item in our contract. However, there were a couple of small details that they were careless on that can't now be fixed (backsplash uneven with front of countertop, end panel has gap below countertop).

informed me but was unhelpful in finding a solution when a measurement issue was encountered, and told me it was not possible to go back when I changed my mind on how to handle it, even though it was an important decision and it clearly was possible to change since he then did change it when I found something he had done wrong (installing filler even with cabinet instead of with door fronts) that required him to redo that part of the work anyways.

attempted to do the electrical work he had contracted for himself rather than bringing an electrician, and then he demonstrated that he was totally unqualified for that work by telling me my wiring for dual vanity lights didn't work - three electricians have since confirmed to me that my wiring works and was done exactly the way it is usually done, but
Chicago Kitchen And Bath Remodelers Provider Name Locked
didn't understand that - and he expressed that it was "not my fault" that he didn't get any of the lighting / wiring portions of the job completed. He did such a bad job of what should have been a 30-45 minute task of installing corner bead and drywall mud that I had to spend 5 hours ripping it out and redoing it. He acted surly and resentful when very minor obstacles were encountered, even though I offered right away to pay hourly for any extra work it might cost, and he expressed that he felt he had completed as much work as he had contracted for and deserved to be paid in full at a time when that was clearly not the case.
I paid
Chicago Kitchen And Bath Remodelers Provider Name Locked
in full even though he had not completed any of the contracted light installations nor installed the stone wall cap on top of a half wall per our contract. I offered to pay him in full partly because he had done a little extra work shimming the toe kicks of the vanities and doing drywall mudding on the wall for the wall cap (which I didn't realize yet had been done so poorly), and mostly because the vanity installs at least were done and I was tired of his surly attitude and that was the fastest way for him to leave my house.

Repaired bathroom tiles which were moldy. He removed old tiles, placed new backboard, new tiles along with application of non-mold glue and re-grouted not only the new tiles but up and down the inner creases of the entire wall and caulked around the tub. He was on time and laid down sheets on the living-room floor so as not to track down dirt. He also cleaned up after himself. Great job!
