Buyer beware! I have written 10 other Angie's ratings, all of them solid A's. Largely because of this agency's negligence, my wife and I and our young children drove WITH NO AUTO INSURANCE from
. through June, 2013. I am a hard-working, successful professional. My credit rating is always in the 750-800 range. I always pay all of my bills on time. I began with TWI in June, 2012 thinking I would get better personal service than the large company that service my professional organization. Although there were some initial problems with professionalism with the agent (
) I first dealt with regarding small price surprises, returning phone calls, etc., I then began to deal with
. Having been set up online and with active email , I assumed I would be appropriately alerted to payment dates. I have malpractice, medical, life, disability, liability, and office insurance, along with the home and auto policies I purchased from
. Payment schedules include monthly, bi-monthly, quarterly, semi-annually, and annually payments I received no notification in any form--email, voice mail, snail mail, etc.--that my auto policy had lapsed in
., '13.
But let's even assume for the moment that I did receive some kind of notification and it slipped past me. Again, there is no record anywhere that this had happened, but why was I not contacted directly by
or the agency, alerting me to the urgency of the lapsed coverage. On exactly June 18 of this year, on a Tuesday morning, I received a general e-blast from the agency soliciting my business for auto insurance. Although I assumed this was clearly a mistake because I already had coverage, I called back immediately, got a voice machine, and left a question for
inquiring about what I was confident had been a mistake. Again, this was a Tuesday morning. Not until Friday at 3:30 did I receive a call-back message from
indicating that my policy had indeed lapsed in January. After appointments, I retrieved this message, to my horror, and immediately called just after 5:00, only to learn that the office had just closed for the weekend. I left voice messages for
,
, and even
. Nowhere could I find any emergency or weekend number on the website or the answering system. I imagine
will come back and say there is an emergency number, but there was none to be found.
Genuinely alarmed and shaken, I then called the hotline Friday at 9 PM of the auto insurance company and in an hour's time, was able to secure immediate coverage. I need not detail the absolute catastrophe this could have been to my family and finances had there been an accident.
On Monday, I had to call
myself. Not one word of accountability. Not a shred of an apology. Had he merely indicated that he was genuinely sorry for my experience, would speak with his staff, and would personally oversee the account going forward to ensure nothing like that would ever happen again, I might well still be his customer. Because no catastrophe had occurred, there were no grounds for legal action that would require defensiveness on his part. Nevertheless, he immediately went into CYA, circle-the-wagons, defensive mode with lame comments about communications regarding lapsing policies not being something they get into, that I must have been informed by the company directly, that his staff always met the highest level of competence, etc. A stonewall.
I found his competition slightly further north. where I have received better coverage from the same insurance companies for hundreds less. No exaggeration.
I believe everything will be fine with TWI as long as nothing goes wrong. You unknowingly may be paying higher premiums, but it will only be when an emergency arises, or there is a lapsed policy, that you may be subjected to the same potentially catastrophic negligence that I was. If Angie's would allow this, I'd be happy to fill anyway in on further details, dated copies of emails, etc.

In general very professional service. They kept us up to date with the claim process.
Technically their service ends with the settlement check but they really stepped up and helped us to coordinate work with different contractors to utilize restoration time more efficient.

You must remember one thing: ...More />
They are public adjusters not builders or contractors - they are looking for an extra money from insurance claim. That's it.

Restoration process is a totally different animal, separate restoration contracts, different companies involved, etc
They just coordinate everything to go smooth through the process and really provide service from A to Z
