Home Staging Reviews in Chicago

and her team at
were a lifeline when my father died unexpectedly, and I had to clear out and manage his house. The categories available on Angie’s List under which I’ve reviewed this company--auction services, organization—home and garage, home staging, and moving—do not come close to what this company does (which is why I’ve written such a detailed review). Although I did not need this service, they also offer downsizing and moving help for seniors.
is a national company, and
is the
manager. On her section of, she says, “We are passionate about serving our clients.” This is no marketing verbiage—she really cares.
My house was an especially challenging job for several reasons: 1) Because my father died intestate, I did not actually inherit the
house and have the legal right to work on it until a year and a half after his death, so it had been long unoccupied; 2) I live 300 miles away from the house and had to make several trips to work on it before I could even get
started; 3) My father was something of a hoarder; 4) There was no water service because the pipes had frozen and burst. There was not enough “good stuff” in the house for a conventional estate sale on location, so
arranged for online listings of the big-ticket items and successfully sold several of them. She donated what did not sell and what was usable from the rest of the contents, and
gave me a meticulously detailed receipt for my taxes. There was an enormous amount of sheer trash, and because the house was no longer occupied, there was no City trash service and it all had to be disposed of off-premises. Several times I had to arrange for repair people to come to the house, and
’s team always met them to give them access and to work with them. She periodically
sent a member of her team to check the exterior and make sure it was secure.
Finally, when my realtor advised me to sell the house as-is except for having all the ancient wall-to-wall carpeting removed,
’s team did this project. It turned out to be a ghastly mess, because the carpeting was so old that the padding underneath had rotted away and either disintegrated into powder or fused to the floor.
’s team was very careful, and the hardwood floors were revealed needing only sanding and refinishing to be beautiful. In order to do a final damp-mopping, the team brought in their own
My realtor met with
to do a final walk-through to see if anything else should be done before the house was listed for sale (which
offered to do free of charge). The realtor didn’t see any other needs and told me the team had done “a magnificent job.” Originally worn and sad, the house was now a diamond in the rough. The punch line is that after the long and
difficult process of getting the house cleared out and ready to go, the house sold in just over 24 hours for 60% more than my asking price. (I also had an awesome realtor,
, whom I found on Angie’s List.)
supplied ongoing progress reports, detailed photos of the work in progress and of the final results, detailed descriptions, receipts for any supplies the team had to purchase, and any other documentation I needed. My only note about working with her is that she does not always answer emails immediately (though she does always answer), but if you need to contact her right away she always returns phone calls within a few hours.

When the wife and I first came to
Buka Design & Build we did not know if they had what it takes to match what we had in mind for our interior design. After 2 weeks, however, I must say I was thoroughly impressed with their concept of what we thought we wanted in our interior design and with what we got. The ambience in the living room is like you stepped onto another planet. The colors are superb along with the clever lighting scheme. All the colors work really well with the new carpet and the new cabinets in the kitchen stand out so beautifully. The interior design in the kitchen with the new stainless steel sink, and new appliance are incorporated so well it is like living in a new home. The interior design of the master bedroom is without a doubt the gem of the whole home.
Buka Design &Build outdid themselves with superb workmanship on all fronts. The scheme of the interior design shows a clear vision of the use of our old bed along with a perfect match for our dresser and the creamy carpet colors.
and I would highly recommend the interior design workmanship of
Buka Design & Build if you want perfection in action. .

Home Staging reviews in Chicago

From our first meeting with
Chicago Home Stagers Provider Name Locked
Buka Design & Build what I came away with is - he really listened. Kitchens are not easy to reconstruct. There could be plumbing, electrical or structural problems to deal with in the redesign of kitchens, but we had no problem at all with our vision of what we wanted done and what

and his crew were very informative to what could and could not be done. He was patient and realistic to our needs of how the kitchen would function and arriving early and staying late showed his devotion to the project. He revised some of our bad planning and resolved it to our satisfaction with no complications.

and his crew were focused, hardworking and very professional while we enjoyed peace of mind and saved money with the kitchen installation. We were very happy with the kitchen cabinets as the appliances picked out by

Three cleaners arrived at the scheduled time (5:00 AM). They cleaned my house from top to bottom. I went to the house the same day they cleaned and all I could say was WOW! My place looked amazing. They even cleaned out my garage and I was not expecting them to clean and organize the garage. They did a fantastic job. Since I've moved in, I've hired them to work for me weekly and recommended them to several neighbors and friends. I highly recommend

They were excellent. They had great design services in terms of deciding how to stage the balcony. The furniture that they chose and used was all high quality. Their move in and move out was without any incident at all, they took just one day to complete the job.

In preparation to put our house on the

came to help us rearrange key rooms with difficult dimensions. She was able to use our existing furniture and artwork to help us create more dynamic and functional rooms. We plan to use her services again when we move -- the space is much more inviting with her vision.

He did a great job determining what needed to be added to help make the property shine. He also allowed the seller to cut costs by purchasing items and using what seller already had. This person does a good job, has a good attitude and overall was good to work with. When the property sold, he was available to come pick up items on the day of move. However, picking up a truck to remove items (he needed the truck because he agreed to buy an item from me which I no longer wanted) and that process caused a delay. However, he called in advance to let me know and we were able to work around that. If you use him make sure that you don't rely on email correspondence. It is best to call the office. This person also has a cell # and fax # which you can get if you have him work with you. Re: survey: responsiveness - he is good & therefore busy, only a # of times when responsiveness was an issue; re: punctuality, only recall it an issue once due to something beyond his control.

I was overwhelmed with the results, it showed like a model. There were quite a few other new homes in the area that were similar in square footage, quality and price. Mine was one of the first to sell and for a very high percentage of the asking price. Investing the $6,000 into the equation made sense. It allowed me to differentiate my home from the competition. It also helped me to sell my home quicker and therefore I never had to make the downward adjustment to my sales price. Either you invest up front or you adjust downward over time. I was thrilled and will use the service again once I have built another home.

I really like the results of the project. The project lasted months as we chose colors/fabrics/window treatments, etc. Note that I am not sure of the overall cost because it went over so many months and there is

's price and of course, the price of the carpeting/paint/contractors, etc.

charges her own time per hour, but I never calculated out her costs versus the overall project costs. It did seem a bit expensive, but I don't know the

I sat down with
Chicago Home Stagers Provider Name Locked
to see what I can do in terms of rehabbing my unit. From the start, what struck me was his design creativity and his ability to visualize different uses for a given space as well as describe what work would have to be done to get there.
Since I wasn't sure what I wanted the end state to look like, he spent a fair amount of time understanding my goals, budget, style and personality, and the purpose of the rehab.
He walked me through the different options I had to rehab the unit and was very up front about the costs and risks of taking this on. Although it was somewhat obvious that I was looking for a very quick and rental-quality rehab and that this project wouldn't be a good fit, he still gave recommendations and referrals for people that would be better suited to my project.
Apparently, he has been a contractor on Kitchen Crashers on HGTV and had a writeup about his work on 'The Men's Book'. I was very impressed looking at the previous work he had done and the focus on quality and attention to detail that he has.
When I am ready to renovate a dwelling that will be my primary residence, I will definitely utilize
Chicago Home Stagers Provider Name Locked
's services.
