"He arrive on time and took time to figure out the wiring mess that other companies left with. He was able to fix the problem and tested the door bell and phone system to make sure they were working in order.

"I purchased the Simpli Safe security system through an Angies List promotion for $99. The system was sent directly to my home and we were able to install quite easily. I ordered a few more parts to the system directly with Simpli Safe for an additional $65. They have an on-line video which shows how the system is installed and how it works. We are quite pleased with the system and the price.

"We were very pleased with this service provider. We selected
Chicago Home Security Companies Provider Name Locked
based on reviews from
Chicago Home Security Companies Provider Name Locked
members who wrote that
Chicago Home Security Companies Provider Name Locked
had fixed doorbell problems similar to ours. We live in a 6-flat building in which ours was the only doorbell that was not working. We had been having problems off and on for years, and no one had been able to fix it.
We called
Chicago Home Security Companies Provider Name Locked
and made an appointment and
Chicago Home Security Companies Provider Name Locked
arrived right on time, was very friendly and explained everything he was doing as he worked. He first checked the main control board in the basement and found that the main volume control was not all the way up. He turned it up to full volume, which was an improvement, but still didn't make our bell ring loud enough. He then took apart the
Chicago Home Security Companies Provider Name Locked
box in our unit and determined that the speaker was very old and almost burnt out. He replaced the unit with a new one that he had in his truck, and our doorbell and
Chicago Home Security Companies Provider Name Locked
have been working perfectly ever since! He completed the job within the minimum time for the service call and the charge including parts was $114.
We really appreciated both
Chicago Home Security Companies Provider Name Locked
's friendly personality and the fact that he was very knowledgeable and capable - turns out he has previously done work in other old buildings right on our block. At least two other electricians and handymen had been unable to figure out the problem (never even located the main control board), and had told us that we would probably need to replace the system for the whole building at a cost of over $1000. We are so glad that we could finally get this fixed, and we would definitely call
Chicago Home Security Companies Provider Name Locked
again and recommend them to anyone. Thanks so much

"bought a deal from Angie's List for $199 for a basic alarm system. I liked it because it was expandable, wireless, and I did not need a landline to connect to the monitoring center. The price of monitoring is very reasonable. After buying the basic system 9through Angie's list) I called Simply Safe and ordered all other necessary components. Both the basic system and the extra order arrived very promptly. Installing the system is a breeze, making changes by adding components or addicional extra codes, is really easy . Very happy with the system overall, fortunately I have had no need to check how the response works in a real situation.

"Do not request a quote from them. I contacted them as one of several
companies to get a quote for service, and their robocaller has continued
to call my house several times a day every day since. I refuse to do
business with any company whose business model depends on harassing me
while I make up my mind. I strongly urge everyone to avoid this company
like the plague.

"Awful. we stuck with them for 10 years (shame on us for not dropping them earlier, but they kept auto-renewing the contract and saying we could not get out of it). We finally felt confident in leaving them after talking to another security firm. The system that they were being paid to maintain was in such terrible disrepair, it could have been considered criminal negligence if anything was actually damaged or stolen or somebody was hurt.

came by and gave us a quote. We discussed wher the cameras would go, how well they worked at night and, whether we could depend on them in inclement weather. We discussed warranties,(1yr. material and labor). He also gave my husband a 10% senior discount. We liked what was presented and signed the agreement. On the first of two days this job took to do,
Chicago Home Security Companies Provider Name Locked
showed up with his installers. He phoned when they were on the way. They went through the installation process with us and what they needed access to.
Chicago Home Security Companies Provider Name Locked
left a short while later with the guys already at work. For two days they climbed up and down the side of our building like Spiderman. I write this because there is only a three foot width between us and our neighbors property. They were polite, organized and neat, respectful to our neighbors. At the end of the second day they showed me the basics of the DVR and monitor. How to program my phone and set up the laptop for remote viewing. There was a minor issue with the
Chicago Home Security Companies Provider Name Locked
that we were unable to see all the cameras at once, only sequencially. After phoning
Chicago Home Security Companies Provider Name Locked
, he assured us that a fix for the problem was forthcoming. He would phone us as soon as he had it. And thats exactly what he did! He came over installed the new program and spent well over an hour showing us how to work the DVR, back it up, etc. Provided a copy of the manual also. The system works well, no problems with bad weather to date. Good visibility in darkness, like the zoom feature. Gives me peace of mind....

"WONDERFUL!!!
Chicago Home Security Companies Provider Name Locked
responded immediately to my request and showed up the next day to look at our issue. We recently moved into to our place and didn't know much about the
Chicago Home Security Companies Provider Name Locked
system. I'm a little embarrassed to say the problem was an unplugged box.
Chicago Home Security Companies Provider Name Locked
took the time to explain how the system worked and since he was already here he took the
Chicago Home Security Companies Provider Name Locked
apart to ensure it was working correctly. He made some tweaks and in no time at all had the system working perfectly.
Chicago Home Security Companies Provider Name Locked

"The sales representative was good. She was prompt and on time, although I had to remind her to send me a quote. I thought she would have been a little more proactive in trying to get our business.
There was a slight problem with the scheduling of the work. I had the work scheduled for the day of our closing day on our house AND moving day at 8:30 in the morning. The sales rep said the installer would be there between 8:30 and 9:30am. 9:30am rolled around, and there was no person here yet! I called APS and they said there was a conflict and my installation wouldn't happen until the afternoon. They told me this as if it were no big deal, yet I had my whole day planned out, taking work off in the morning, to get the install done. I was really upset that they just bumped me without even letting me know! I called both the installer and the sales rep and let them know I was upset because of the inconvenience. They had a different installer out there by 10am.
I shouldn't have had to complain like this, but once the installer got there everything went smoothly. The installation was good and things looked good. After reading technical information on the 2GIG forums, I do have some concerns about my installation:
- Both the the 2GIG-TS1 touch screen control panel and the 2GIG-TAKE345 wireless sensor module he installed in our garage are both only rated operable down to 32 degrees Fahrenheit. I am concerned one or both modules might fail as it gets colder. I don't know why they would install this type of setup in a garage in chicago where temperatures are most certain to fall below freezing. Today is the first day that it is below freezing, so we will see what happens.
- The 2GIG installation manual recommends to not installing the CP2 Go Control panel near an entry/exit so that burglars would not have easy access to the main panel right after they break in. However, my installed did just that. I am not too concerned about this because 2GIG does offer "crash and smash" protection (so that if the burglar rips the panel off the wall right after breaking in, it will still notify the central station).
These two things aren't huge deals, but It just concerns me that APS either did not read the manuals, did not train their installers properly, or they just failed to follow the manufacturer's recommended practices.
One thing you should be aware of with
Chicago Home Security Companies Provider Name Locked
is that they make you sign a one-year contract with an early termination fee. The sales rep did not make me aware of this when I spoke with her. I found out from the installer when he had me sign all the paperwork to activate the system.
So far I have been really happy with the service. I don't know if this is APS or Chicago Police or both, but my daughter hit the panic button by mistake, and no joke, with 5 minutes of pressing the button the police were knocking at my door.

"FANTASTIC!! We had another fim - top-rated here on
Chicago Home Security Companies Provider Name Locked
- come by to repair a broken door buzzer in our 6 unit condo building this past summer. Their repairs worked for awhile, but then all of our buzzers became inoperative - a major inconvenience and security issue for sure, so we wanted it repaired ASAP. The other firm had given us an estimate to replace our junction box at something like $900, and could not come out until 48 hours later. So I called
Chicago Home Security Companies Provider Name Locked
at
Chicago Home Security Companies Provider Name Locked
.
Chicago Home Security Companies Provider Name Locked
was able to come out the next day. He quickly assessed what the problem was (and showed me what was going on).
Chicago Home Security Companies Provider Name Locked
had to go to a vendor for a new door striker, but the whole repair took 60-90 minutes and cost me $191.50 to repair vs. $900 to replace.
I don't meant to dis the other firm too badly. I think that they simply did not know door buzzers as intimately as someone who specializes in them. Lesson learned - always try a specialist over a generalist. That specific knowledge can save a lot of time and trouble - and in my case, a TON of money!
