Furniture Sales Reviews in Chicago

On Tuesday I purchased a set of bunk beds to be delivered to my 3rd floor apartment on Friday. I asked for a 2 hour delivery window and they were able to accommodate. The beds were delivered during the time frame asked for and the two delivery men carried all the materials to the 3rd floor and assembled the beds within 40 minutes. They then took all packaging materials out to the
and placed them in the trash. The delivery men were very professional and courteous. I not only got a good deal on the bunk beds, but I thought that the cost of delivery and assembly (especially to a 3rd floor apartment) was very reasonable.

On or about May 29th,
delivered a chair, a bed, and two nightstands that I had ordered to my apartment in Chicago. As it was during the week, I was at work so the doorman let the delivery people into the apartment and left. The delivery people were the only people in the apartment that day. The delivery people worked in the bedroom to assemble the bed. When I returned from work that evening, an envelope with $60 was missing from my chest of drawers. I know the envelope was there and how much was in it because I had removed a small amount from it that morning before leaving for work. When I reported this to a manager of
, she immediately became defensive and took the side of the delivery people against me! Never was any letter of apology or even sympathy sent to me; never was an attempt made to make my loss whole or to compensate me in any form. She said she had talked to the delivery company and they said the delivery people denied taking the money. Big surprise there!
Not only is it shocking that money was stolen from me on this delivery but the total failure of
to take responsibility for it or hold anyone accountable. In fact, she denied it could even be possible of the delivery staff. Needless to say, I will never patronize this company again and would advise anyone having furniture delivered from
to have someone in the apartment at all times while the delivery staff is there.

If you're considering buying furniture from
Chicago Designer Furniture Provider Name Locked
- don't.

I spent a handsome sum on a full bedroom set five years ago and now it's falling apart. The bed squeaks, the wood chips easily and the drawer handles are falling off the drawers and falling apart. When I contacted customer service to replace a single, broken drawer handle I was told they don't stock such things and that I could just
Chicago Designer Furniture Provider Name Locked
the internet for a replacement. That's it - no recommendation on where to find a replacement, no offer to fix what's broken - I was told, in so many words that I was on my own. In having the handle repaired I was informed that the metal used was the cheapest quality and poorly manufactured. For the quality of furniture I received I would have done better to shop at IKEA or Target, saving loads of money in the process.

Look at the warranty before you buy any furniture,
Chicago Designer Furniture Provider Name Locked
's is only one year at best. The warranty is limited so they don't have to cover the rambling pieces of crap that they sell. A quality furniture maker will provide an extended, if not lifetime, warranty knowing that the merchandise will withstand normal wear.

I have furniture from
Chicago Designer Furniture Provider Name Locked
that is over 20 years old and it's as tight and clean as the day it was purchased; not one problem or issue to report. I'm now looking at replacing this nightmare with furniture from Penny
Chicago Designer Furniture Provider Name Locked
who provide a 287 year warranty on furniture.

My experience with
Chicago Designer Furniture Provider Name Locked
, the owner of Furniture N Design Group (formerly Ambiance Gallery), went badly from the second time I met with her. I thought the initial bad experience was just a small one-time situation. But everything went from bad to worse. This has cost me thousands of dollars. If you meet this woman, walk the other way. She will deceive you and provide poor quality merchandise. I was too trusting. I handed off my Baker dining room chairs to her for reupholstering to be returned within a specific time frame. The upholsterer she used was terrible (more about him later). Three of the chairs had to go back and with one of the chairs having a broken leg. One was not returned to me on time, even though she said she would bring it right back. I was then forced to borrow folding chairs for our holiday meal. All three chairs were fixed but the repaired broken leg looks awful. It was glued poorly -- I could have glued it better than the repairer did. She said it looks fine, and further stated that it doesn’t bother her. She didn’t care if it bothers me that my expensive chair was broken and poorly repaired. I ordered a chair and ottoman from her. I actually gave her a picture of what I wanted – a small swivel chair for our bedroom. The picture was from a manufacturer she does not handle but she assured me that it would be exactly as shown with the same dimensions as the piece I wanted. It arrived in awful condition.
Chicago Designer Furniture Provider Name Locked
’s “white glove service” seems to not include pressing fabric. The skirt of the chair and ottoman were a mess, no care had been taken to press them. The upholstery has

on it where the upholsterer indicated sewing lines (they had not been removed).
Chicago Designer Furniture Provider Name Locked
said, “it looks fine, it doesn’t bother me”. She made no attempt to rectify the matter. It also is not a swivel chair but a 4 leg static chair. In fact, it is too large to have a swivel. It is 10” deeper than the one I wanted (my feet
Chicago Designer Furniture Provider Name Locked
’t even come close to touching the ground when I sit in it) and 8” wider. Plus, it doesn’t look like the chair in the picture that I presented to her. She stated that it is a custom piece and can’t be returned … even though it is not the piece I ordered. She did give me a small refund. The chair and ottoman cost me $2,425.00 and I
Chicago Designer Furniture Provider Name Locked
’t like the chair AT ALL. We live in a small condo and the chair is over-sized and over-stuffed. The only good thing about it is the fabric, which
Chicago Designer Furniture Provider Name Locked
did not select. I also ordered a sleeper sofa for our very small second bedroom. Anyone looking at this condo would know that a small piece of furniture is what it needs. My #1 criteria was that the sleeper be extremely comfortable for our guests. The sleeper
Chicago Designer Furniture Provider Name Locked
delivered has a very thin coil mattress that is anything but comfortable (the coils are prominent). It is so bad that we bought an Aerobed that we are now using in that room for our guests rather than have them suffer on that bed.
Chicago Designer Furniture Provider Name Locked
’s response was, “buy one of those very plush mattress covers for it”. Later she said, “you can buy a new mattress for it”. You can picture what the sleeper looks like. It would fit beautifully in a huge family room. It’s overstuffed with large cushions. When confronted with the size of the piece
Chicago Designer Furniture Provider Name Locked
took the two seat cushions to her upholsterer and had them reduced in size. They came back misshapen. But she thinks they look fine. I paid $2,750.00 for this sleeper and we can’t even sleep on it. There is a piece that looked very nice, when it arrived. It is a 2 cushion, 6 leg sofa in our living room. We have spent time in the condo for about 70 days since the sofa was delivered and the cushions are already beginning to look bad – even though I try to fluff them and make them look good. The middle legs on the sofa do not touch the floor. They are ½” shorter than the legs on the ends of the sofa. This is on a $2,472.00 sofa! It is my opinion that the furniture manufacturer used for these pieces produces goods that are low in quality. Even the queen bed we ordered from her has bare wooden boards used as supports in the center rather than a finished framing. The bottom line is that
Chicago Designer Furniture Provider Name Locked
doesn’t listen. If you tell her something she will sweetly agree to acquire the pieces you want. She then does as she pleases (or, I believe, orders what she can get that will pay her the most). Her attempts at “white glove service” are pitiful. And her follow up is more of a cover up and a blame game. I
Chicago Designer Furniture Provider Name Locked
’t believe she is a designer, she doesn’t know what she is doing. She will even blame you! Her solution to my problems? She gave me the name of a resale shop and told me I could send my things there for resale if I
Chicago Designer Furniture Provider Name Locked
’t like them. I had already been in touch with this shop at the time she gave me the name, she provided no new information. My expensive furniture will be sold for less than half of what I paid for it and I will then receive 60% of the proceeds – IF the furniture sells. That is quite a solution. She simply wiped her hands of it. Please do yourself a favor and look for someone that you can trust and will deliver on what they tell you they are going to do -
Chicago Designer Furniture Provider Name Locked
is not that person. We terminated communication on 10/30/2011.

The order arrived when expected and the light bars seem decent quality and installed without the need for the 2 cables I had also purchased. Since the ATG website advertises "hassle free returns" I did not expect a problem when returning the cables. Boy, was I wrong!! It took 3 weeks of calling ATG just to obtain the address where I was supposed to return the cables. I practically had to beg for this address, which is ridiculous. Customer support representatives would promise to email me the address, which never happened so I had to keep calling them. Needless to say, they were less than pleasant to deal with and would never let me speak with a manager. Again, unbelievable. Are their customer service representatives left over from the USSR? Once I finally obtained the address in New
Chicago Designer Furniture Provider Name Locked
of where to return the cables I sent them through the USPS with a return receipt requested. I got the return receipt in the mail about a week later so I know the cables were received. ATG representatives had previously told me to expect a refund on my credit card within 5-7 days of the product being received. Well, I just got my credit card statement today and there is no refund from ATG. I called ATG and the representative was extremely condescending (again would not let me speak with a manager) and was unwilling to help me at all. I then used their live chat system and again, not very helpful. I was told representative will call me tomorrow after they investigate where my refund is. I am upset; the cables cost about $32 and I spent an additional $11 to send this product back to the manufacturer. I work hard for my money so yeah, this is a big deal. They have stolen my money. I certainly do not recommend purchasing anything from this website. The representatives are rude and it is apparently impossible to return anything. Overall it has been an extremely frustrating experience and has considerably raised my blood pressure.

I recently bought a click bed from
Chicago Designer Furniture Provider Name Locked
. At the start, the sales associate, a Polish female that recently had a baby, was very friendly and helpful. The color and model of click bed I wanted and later purchased was in the back stock room wrapped in plastic. Since this was a $400.00 purchase, I needed to fully inspect and sit on the click bed to make sure this was the item I wanted. The stock guy, an older white male with glasses, was rude. He had a problem with taking the plastic off the item. I told him that I would take my business elsewhere if he refused to display the item. So he finally complied. He had some comments to say, so I basically said that he should keep his comments to himself and that a normal business would fire him for his actions. Needless to say, I ended up purchasing the click bed from
Chicago Designer Furniture Provider Name Locked
. The delivery guys were fine, cordial, and professional. The bed worked great for two days. Then I had a problem with the bed resting to its normal, upright position. I called
Chicago Designer Furniture Provider Name Locked
. I did not get the lady?s name that I spoke to. She sounded concerned and was willing to help get the problem rectified. I received two phone calls from her regarding the problem. The problem was not fixed and she said she would have to call the manufacture for advice or for a repair person. Well three weeks later....nothing. Nothing at all, I never heard from the lady again. I finally got a phone call from some repair service, again three weeks after I reported the problem, saying they just received a fax two days ago for a repair on the hinges. Well guess what, since I received horse$*it service from
Chicago Designer Furniture Provider Name Locked
, I fixed the problem myself. I knew the parking lot at
Chicago Designer Furniture Provider Name Locked
was always empty and now I know why. I will not shop here in the future.

I spoke with
Chicago Designer Furniture Provider Name Locked
Chicago Designer Furniture Provider Name Locked
's this morning, emailed some pictures showing the damage, and he is sending me a new cover for the damaged seat cushion. I will have it in a few days. It could not have been a more positive or pleasant experience. I have always been a big fan of the merchandise sold in this shop, and now I am a fan of their customer service as well.

Chicago Designer Furniture Provider Name Locked
provides quality service and stays true to what they offer "affordable portable" furniture. Unlike Ikea, they have a service to put the furniture together. They have a lot of furniture to choose from. This is the 5th time I bought from them and I am very happy.

We went into this store because it was close to our house and were greeted right away by a sales associate. He asked what we needed and we told him. He immediately showed us what we wanted and quoted us a great price. The price also included delivery. We purchases the set and planned for delivery in 4 days. Three days later we were called and told the mattress had come in and could be delivered early if we wanted. Since we were out of town at the time we went with the original delivery date but highly appreciated the offer. The mattress came on time and was set up in the room of our choice.
