"100% satisfied! Our first job as listed cost exactly $4510 and was well worth it. But I consider and his crew at Progress Remodeling to be my one and only general contractor since recently moving to Chicago in 2010. I've rehired him over 10 times in the past 1 year+ to do both big and small jobs rehabbing our Lincoln Park townhome right from the day we closed on it then. These jobs ranged from replacing a hideous previous owner's kitchen backsplash to replacing two improperly previously built roofdecks to completely gutting and transforming a LL Full Bath into a spectacular spa-like bathroom. He's single-handedly transformed our dated townhome that we purchased in 2010 into a comfortable and livable (and re-sellable) HOME for me and my wife. I highly recommend him without reservation. We often give him the key to our home and trust his men to secure it and protect our property while they're working and we're not there. They're always on time right at the time they say they'll arrive. He's a general contractor and home builder who doesn't cut corners ever, and is very good at explaining what/why/how he'll do a job, as well as there's never any surprises when it comes to cost and price. I took the time to verify his Chicago General Contractor's Licensure #1898252 under Progress Painting & Remodeling, Inc., as well as requesting he email me (which he promptly did) his proof of business liability insurance ($2million aggregate coverage) through Mutual Ins. (policy #COIL009732), and even the BBB gives his firm an A. I wouldn't hire him over and over if he didn't do everything right, which he does, so I do. An honest, hardworking, skilled, and trustworthy contractor is hard to find in the city of Chicago. I recommend this one here to you."

"I called , provided the description and measurements over the phone of the work needed in a small galley kitchen. (Note btw that while this amount is not high, it's the prinicipal and manner in which I was treated that I'd like to share for others to consider) They gave me an estimate of $80-$100 .
The guy came out, confirmed my description and measurements were accurate. I had to ask several times afterward for an official quote so I could then schedule the work.
Finally he replies with a very unofficial email that says the job is actually going to cost over 400% more at $430! It took many emails and a few phone calls, I finally reached the owner. He was RUDE right off the bat and insisted on arguing. He gave no consideration to listening and understanding my experience before taking on this demeanor with me. He finally asked, "Fine, what do you want me to do?" I replied, "Do the work for an amount much closer to $100 than to $400." He then tells me he wouldn't step foot in my house since I'm already complaining when work hasn't even been done yet and that I ought to be glad that I know of the price increase before the work than after it's done. He also went on to say the amount was not high enough to warrant my time. I said it is for me to decide what is expensive to me or not, and that the complaint is not the dollar amount, it is the DELTA of 4 TIMES the original estimate.
Frustrated with his demeanor, I said, "Never mind, I'll put my experience on Angie's List and hung up." He called back and left a message in a mocking, threatening and said, "Oh you better be careful because if you write something negative, I can write a review about you as well so you better be careful about what you write." I asked Angie's List about this. It was explained to me that they have the right to respond to tell their side. Well that is ceratinly fair. In any case, my experience has now beeen shared. "

"CSR is fantastic! We had our marble floors resurfaced and polished by Mr. last year and were very unhappy. We decided that if Mr. M. couldn't get it right the first time, why bother again so we did some searching and found CSR.
CSR was very reasonable, not the very cheapest bid but they worked three days for well less than half what Mr M charged for two days AND they refinished two antique marble table tops and a large marble slab that covers the bar, all included in the price.
and his partner were a pleasure to have around; they are polite and meticulous. Masked all adjacent walls and surfaces with protective coverings. No dust, no dirt and they moved the furniture for us. A definite yes! "

"I had met and interviewed numberous remodeling companies for our large remodeling project but as soon as I met with Paudie Lynch, owner of , I knew he was the one. Paudie was extremely knowledgable and spent an extensive amount of time over several meetings before we finalized the design and begun the work. He is an expert at pinpointing and problem solving various home related issues and he is very honest, fair, hard working and a true craftsman with 30+ years experience...we could not have done it without him and his team! The job turned out AMAZING...we feel like we live in a completely different house! We are truely satisfied with the work of . I will be recommending Paudie to everyone and will definitely be using him in the future for any future remodeling/ construction projects!!!"

"we've used for several projects over the years from a gut rehab of a master bath to replacing the back door. He repaired a disastrous shower leak that also corrected problems from a previous contractor. He's a problem solver. Latest project involved upgrades to the kitchen and small bath and repair and refinishing the floor under a radiator in our Park condo. This job lasted about three days and we are very pleased with the results. is conscientious and meticulous in his work and works hard to finish in a timely manner. He sometimes needs nudging on clean up, but is reasonably priced and a charm to work with."

"It took a bit to get hold of , but once I did the job went very quickly. First day sanded and applied initial varnish coat. The next two days were quick trips to apply additional coats. It looks great."

"They did a good job. They dried the damaged area, installed the flooring and re-painted the area. I liked their services and will use the same in future."

" was contracted through Lumber Liquidators installation division as we bought the flooring through LL. Prior to purchasing the flooring, measured the space, submitted a firm estimate with a materials needed list. The estimator also had us install plywood over the sub floor prior to the installation day. Once the flooring was purchased and sat in our home to become acclimated, performed the installation.
Please note that this job was part of an overall second floor renovation, so there was no furniture, casements or baseboard molding to contend with. This is something that you would have to consider would be in place if you were doing new flooring that wasn't part of a renovated space.
The crew showed up on time and 2 guys did the installation and clean-up in under 4 hours. Excellent job."

"We use quite often; whenever we need something to get fixed or repair at our home. First time we used them it was to work on remodeling our house after we bought it five years ago. Since then we stick with and their team because they always do an excellent job and of course their prices are very competitive.
I honestly recommend this company to anyone that needs some construction work done on their home or have furnace fixed."
