Flooring Reviews in Chicago

Our condo board needed to replace only one hallway of carpeting. Our management company contacted
to obtain an estimate. He submitted a detailed estimate with color to be determined later. Once we decided on
, we asked to see color samples. It's very difficult to get all board members together to pick out a color so
was kind enough to let us pick a few colors and he mailed us samples to choose from. Once we agreed on a color, we scheduled an appointment for installation. He said they would be here between 9:00 a.m. and 10:00 a.m. on Tuesday,
11, 2014. At 9:10 a.m. on the scheduled day, our on site contact got a call saying
was here and ready to start. They were very efficient and completed the job in no time at all.
Several of the board members (along with a few other owners) checked it out right away. We love the quality of the carpeting, the color and the job well done! We have six more hallways and will call
when it's time for them to be done. Bottom line, if you want friendly, detailed, efficient, quality service and a no hassle experience, call
& Window Coverings.

My husband and I picked up carpet samples in store and brought them home. In response to the $37 installation special promoted online and in store, I went to the
website to estimate the cost of the carpet purchase. I tried calling the store to discuss purchase/ schedule in home measurement. I was routed and re-routed over the phone for more than 30 minutes so I gave up that angle. The next day I went into the North Ave
store to schedule the carpet install measurement or move forward with my carpet purchase after deciding on a carpet and color. No one was working in the flooring department the morning I went to do this (9:15 AM week day arrival). I waited for 20+ minutes in the department without assistance along with other customers and called the store on the phone while sitting in the store to try and get someone's attention. My call was routed and re-rerouted continuously while I sat there. Employees not qualified to assist in the department walked through the department and called for an MOD to come to the department. No one qualified bothered to show so I left. In my car I tried calling the store again to talk to a manager. I finally did. He apologized and said multiple people in that department had called off today. He said due to my trouble he would have the $35 in home measurement done at no cost to me and someone would call to schedule shortly. 7 hours later I received a phone call from someone who went through every detail of my install to provide me a quote. This was after I told him exactly which carpet I wanted and the SF of the room. I asked him simply for a date/ time for a measurement in home and reminded him of the $37 install special and comp'd in-home measurement due to issues in store. All was new news to him. After a 20+ minute phone call and reminding him the in home measurement was supposed to be at no cost, he provided me with a carpet quote I didn't ask for that was over $200 than what I had estimated on the
website. He told he was supposed to provide an inflated quote over the phone but that the actual quote with measurement should be lower. (WHAT??????) We ended the call with him committing someone would call me on the day of my measurement between 7-9 AM to provide me with a time window. I received an email welcoming me to their install system with a contact number and email address. Today, the day of appointment no one called as promised (am I surprised?). I proceeded to inquire with them about my time window. I called the store and was routed and re-routed through the lines again, no luck. I sent an email to the contact email from the "welcome" notice and I called the phone number in the welcome notice. O the call I was notified that I actually wasn't scheduled for an appointment today because the man who "scheduled" it never processed the fee payment (really?). I ended the call then by thanking the person who answered the phone. I let her know I would never try to work with
on such a project again. Then I scheduled an appt next day with Empire Carpets for an in home measurement. I will post results with that provider later.

I called and scheduled a time to meet with
Chicago Flooring Installers Provider Name Locked
. A rep came out and met me as scheduled and took measurements and showed me some carpet samples. We made an appointment for a range of 2-3 days as I was having other work done on my house, and they were completely flexible about pushing the actual date back.
The workers showed up on time and did a great job installing the carpet, and they were the least hassle of any of the contractors that I have used in the past few weeks.

was very easy to work with and was very friendly and responsive. The initial appointment where he came to our home and took measurements covered everything we needed. He is knowledgable and honest and we would work with him again in the future.
The installation crew did a very good job overall. There were a few areas in the corners of the rooms that could have used a little extra pushing down, but it was fast and they did not leave a mess. They did a nice job at the transition points from carpeting to the threshold of a room.
The overall experience was a good one and I feel more comfortable with this company than with some of the larger companies that are advertised. The pricing is very fair and there were no surprise add-ons.

We drove from the suburbs where our temporary home was located to our recently purchased home to meet with
Chicago Flooring Installers Provider Name Locked
representative for an estimate. We waited for 20 minutes after the set time elapsed before calling the main number. We left a message. Waited another 25 minutes...still no answer.
Even the delivery company delivering our new patio furniture called half hour early to let me know that they were running behind and gave an approximate estimate of their arrival.
We didn't even get that courtesy call from

I had leftover previous powder grout used by another tiling guy two years ago.
Chicago Flooring Installers Provider Name Locked
believed that there may have been slight movements of the porcelain tiles because the deterioration was intermittent--on the whole, the grout was in good shape. Because the kitchen floor area was not large, it made sense to "re-grout" the entire floor, eliminating any differences in finished final appearance between one area or another. The work was performed well and completed promptly.
The reason that I graded punctuality "B" was because
Chicago Flooring Installers Provider Name Locked
was directed to my business address instead of my home address, so he did not arrive promptly.

Terrible! I called on a Tuesday afternoon and spoke to a lady and explained to her what my issue was and made an appointment for Friday at 2:00.
I get a call on Friday morning from
Chicago Flooring Installers Provider Name Locked
saying he could not make it out to the city and would have to cancel. I was okay with that and asked if he could reschedule the estimate. He didn't want to reschedule and asked me to send him some pictures.
Prior to sending out my pics, I explained to him my problem over the phone. I live in a condo and my fridge leaked and messed up the harwdwood floor in my kitchen and hallway. The boards were cupped and there were gaps in between the boards. He said I would have to re-sand all my floors in my entire condo! I asked if there were any alternatives because I would rather not re-sand my entire floor and have some cosmetic issues (Non-matching boards) as long as the hardwood floors were flat.
He asked what my square footage was, I told him and then gave me an estimate of $4,000 without looking at pictures or giving me any alternatives in service. I told him that I would rather have non-matching boards as opposed to re-sanding the entire condo and moving all my furniture around from room to room. I asked him to come out to my place, like we had agreed upon and give me some options on fixing the issue as an alternative to re-sanding my entire condo.
He told me to figure out the square footage of the problem are and let him know! I told him that is his job and to give me his professional opinion of what needs to be fixed and a real estimate.
He then preceded to tell me that fixes this all the time and that it costs him $50 to do an estimate every time. I told him how in the world he gets any jobs if he is not willing to come out to look at the issue and diagnose the problem and give options on how to fix the damage.
Oh one more thing, he said if I sent the pictures to him, he wouldnt get a
Chicago Flooring Installers Provider Name Locked
to look at the pictures until next Thursday?!?! I don't know how any one can trust someone that gives B.S. estimates over the phone without looking at the problem and giving a fair and accurate assesment of the damage and alternatives.
Takeaways from this business:
1) it is not worth their time to come out and look at jobs that are preceived as small
2) gives the highest estimate possible without looking at problem
3) waste of his time to give an estimate.
Pretty terrible if you ask me..

Was able to provide me a clear estimate over email with the aid of photos and dimensions--a huge time savings for me.
Was a little late o the day of the work because of very bad weather and resulting traffic, but kept me informed the entire trip in to the city.
Chicago Flooring Installers Provider Name Locked
was efficient, patient, courteous, quiet, and did fantastic work. I was told that "no one" could fully restore the terrible CLR damage I had on my bath vanity--only that it could be "improved". But it's perfect. Every spot of water etching is gone, the damage is invisible and it's a clear gloss finish. I feel like I have a completely remodeled master bath--what a difference the polishing makes! And there's not a speck of mess anywhere. They did a perfect job cleaning up, which to me is just as important as the work they did.

Delya is the shame of his profession, we had a HORRIBLE experience in renovating our house, PLEASE DO NOT MAKE THE SAME MISTAKE. We made the MASSIVE MISTAKE of hiring
Chicago Flooring Installers Provider Name Locked
and his alleged
Chicago Flooring Installers Provider Name Locked
business and everything WENT WRONG since the very beginning. Do not get fooled by his manners, he accepted the job without any planning whatsoever, he kept saying: "we'll figure it out" and of course he did not, it was painful to watch this unfolding, he MISERABLY FAILED AT ALL LEVELS.
He completely abandoned the job just days into the job, he was nowhere to be found and left our family (we have a very young daughter) in a construction zone in the middle of the winter. It took us months to clean up the mess and we are still dealing with so many issues he left behind it is not even funny. Let me list a few just to describe the INCOMPETENCE and LACK OF PROFESSIONALISM:
- He used UNTRAINED professionals to do some of the plumbing to squeeze in some more money for himself. We had to re-do pretty much everything they did as when a real plumber took a look he was amazed at the poor job they did. We had to spend a ton of money to re-build everything
- He completely abandoned the job site leaving behind tools, materials, garbage, etc that we had to store in our small place for months, he did not even have to courage to pick them up himself.
- RIPPED THE BALCONY WITHOUT ASKING PERMISSION. We came home one day and the balcony deck was gone, no questions asked. This is an expensive job he was basically trying to get for himself on top of what he was doing and he could not even finish the original one!!!!! CONMAN is the only way to describe him.
- He INSULTED AND YELLED AT MY WIFE over the phone and used the F-WORD against me for no reason and DROVE AT FULL SPEED NEAR A SCHOOL when driving off.
- He tried to install in-floor heating and it never worked, we now have to rip up the floor and change everything.
- He tried to do some electrical work himself and lights around the house randomly flicker and nobody can figure out what the heck he did to cause such a massive problem, our appliances keep burning out and the bills keep piling up.
- We even try to make him whole sending him a check for the work he did before abandoning the job site and what did he do? HE PUT A
Chicago Flooring Installers Provider Name Locked
ON OUR PROPERTY because we did not pay him the full amount!!!!!! He even tried to MASSIVELY INFLATE THE BILL by adding nonsensical charges for job he did not even start!!!!!!
This guy is a DELINQUENT, please KEEP MILES AWAY or you will get burned as we did, SHAME ON HIM, he is a DISGRACE FOR HIS PROFESSION.

These people were some of the most professional service providers I've used. They arrived when the said they would, were nice, and did a good job.
