"We were very pleased with the finished job and high level of workmanship that went into the project. Mirek was easy to work with, and he made great suggestions for our project that made it turn out even better.

"I was mainly dealing with
Chicago Flooring Installers Provider Name Locked
and she was excellent. She was responsive and very professional.
Chicago Flooring Installers Provider Name Locked
constantly checked in to make sure the work was going well and that I was satisfied, even when she was on vacation!
The installer was several hours late for the install (due to traffic?) and
Chicago Flooring Installers Provider Name Locked
was extremely apologetic. During the install, the manager of the installation was great, but his two workers did not seem to be as knowledgable or skilled as he. The slab of granite that went around my sink cracked when they tried putting it in. The manager was apologetic and fixed the crack, but it is still somewhat visible.
My only complaints are that I did not receive information on how to care for the particular granite that was installed and that the installer had to come back a second time to finish a couple tasks he forgot to on the first visit.
On a plus side,
Chicago Flooring Installers Provider Name Locked
was great to work with and really advocated for me as her client. She made the process easy and enjoyable and was very honest throughout the entire project.
Chicago Flooring Installers Provider Name Locked
also negotiated a small discount for me after the project was complete because of the delay of the install and the crack in the granite.
Overall, I am satisfied with my experience and would work with
Chicago Flooring Installers Provider Name Locked
and

again!

"I used this company to update my kitchen. Some of their work was great, but the company was a big headache to deal with overall. I felt like I was the project manager and was constantly making phone calls and sending emails to see if the workers were coming, if they had completed what they were supposed to, etc. I felt like I always had to remind the workers of what had and had not been done and the project took an incredibly long time (partially due to a delay in countertop installation on my end). For example, the electrician was not told to hook up the electricity for the garbage disposal as a part of his initial tasks. I had to remind the company about this and the electrician had to come back another day, after the plumber installed the disposal and after the countertop had been installed, to try and hook up the garbage disposal electricity. It was a lot more work. Also, the electrician was given conflicting appointment dates/times by

and the woman in the office (
Chicago Flooring Installers Provider Name Locked
, I think), so he seemed to be upset about that. These miscommunications and hiccups occurred often and were stressful to deal with.
I was very happy with the microwave oven install and the adjustment they made to my cabinets. I was not happy with other carpentry work (replacing the turntable shelves in the lazy
Chicago Flooring Installers Provider Name Locked
cabinet). When the lazy
Chicago Flooring Installers Provider Name Locked
shelves were installed, they were full of splinters and I was charged extra for the worker to come back to sand them. Also, the workers spent several days and hours leveling the cabinets for a granite install and it never seemed to have been completed correctly. Another waste of money.
I was very happy with the plumber, Earlham
Chicago Flooring Installers Provider Name Locked
, and would definitely use him again.
The electrician was also very professional, although I do not remember his name.
This carpenters cleaned up after their work initially, but stopped doing this for the second half of projects. I was constantly vacuuming after they left.
When I wanted to get the project completed, in December, the owner was on vacation and it was hard to tell who was in charge. The builder,
Chicago Flooring Installers Provider Name Locked
, who was doing most of the work at my apartment, would field my questions and concerns and manage other workers. Then there was someone who worked in the office that was also trying to coordinate the project (more like I was trying to coordinate with her). And I would have workers showing up when I said I would not be available and not showing up at all when they were scheduled to be there.
In the end, the kitchen looks nice and updated, but the cost, headache, and lack of professionalism makes me not want to use this company again.

"We purchased a Chicago brick 3-flat building (built in 1918) with large 1800 sq. ft. 3-bedroom units. 2 of the units were full of wall to wall carpeting -- 3 bedrooms, large formal dining room, large living room, and hallway. Pulling out all of the carpet revealed hardwood floors that were not what we expected. They were very very red in color, and looked/felt really rough - lot s of dark spots and cracked/broken boards here and there. I had my doubts that the floors could be nice, much less spectacular. Enter Nick Vlad. According to Nick, the red color was due to the varnish that was applied to the floors decades ago. The good news was that there was plenty of wood under the varnish. The bad news was that it would take a lot of sanding discs to work through the thick varnish and get down to the beautifully preserved wood underneath. The floors needed repair work, especially around the radiator pipes where water damage over the years was clearly on display. Nick was confident that the floors would turn out beautifully -- and wow was he right. Nick and a helper spent 2 days in each unit. When I walked in after all work was done I couldn't believe the transformation. The floors were/are gorgeous. Stunning. They look as though we put in brand new flooring. You can really see the grain/striation of the wood - very unique looking. And they feel GREAT on bare feet. Nick was very easy to work with -- showed up on time to take measurements and get me an estimate, was very professional and conscientious. He's very knowledgeable about all things wood floors and

. We are going to hire him again to deal with the floors in our apartment including removing linoleum flooring in our kitchen and

the maple underneath. We're excited to work with Nick again and are confident he'll make the floors in our home simply gleam.

generously accommodated my work schedule where I had to leave the house by 7:15 a.m., but no loud noises could be made until 8:00 a.m. per our condo building rules. I felt very comfortable leaving him and his helper alone in my home and gave him an extra key to come and go.

lives in my neighborhood and honestly he is so down-to-earth, I felt good about hiring a neighbor. This was another plus.
The condo building I live in was built in 1967 and has quite a few quirks. I had a very uneven concrete sub-floor which has radiant heating pipes underneath as well as a large bump from a pipe that goes with the central vaccuuming system that runs through the building. .When I had carpet, I didn't realize how uneven and bumpy it was, but 3 years ago I had a handyman install Tarkett laminate flooring I had gotten at

's. When the handyman (not

) and I discovered the large and long bump from the vaccuuming system, I asked "What can we do about that?" He didn't know and I didn't know or think to research. He tried to grind it down, but that didn't work, so he installed the flooring the best that he could. His main advice to me was "don't walk on that part. Just step over it so you don't put pressure on it. Try not to let it get wet. Just use a swiffer." Initially the Tarkett floor looked beautiful. I loved the color. But within 2-3 years it started warping and popping out all around that pipe and in the hallway. So when I decided to take the big
Chicago Flooring Installers Provider Name Locked
to remodel my kitchen I knew I needed a new floor as well, not just in the kitchen, but the rest of the "great room."
From researching on the internet, I had figured out that I needed someone who had the knowledge to use a self-leveling cement compound to even out my floors. Also, in the process of interviewing kitchen contractors, I learned about luxury vinyl plank floors, which I further researched at flooring stores and online. This seemed like a good solution as it is more flexible to minor bumps and lumps, looks like hardwood and can get wet (for cleaning or to survive flooding). All the major flooring brands make it and tile and flooring stores carry it or can order it. It's not too expensive, but like anything else there is a yucky, cheapy version all the way to a very expensive version. I got a middle of the road.
Chicago Flooring Installers Provider Name Locked
has lots of experience with all types and he tells me I got a good grade of flooring.
When I talked to
Chicago Flooring Installers Provider Name Locked
and told him about the bumps and problems and he saw the floor, he right away recommended the self-leveling cement compound. He explained how it worked and how he would
Chicago Flooring Installers Provider Name Locked
it down, dry it and then install the floor. He knew how much time it would take and how much he would need. This was the information I was looking for as my "test." I hadn't mentioned the self-leveling cement, because I wanted to see what solution
Chicago Flooring Installers Provider Name Locked
would offer to level my floors, but the reality was I was looking for someone who was knowledgeable and experienced with this solution. Additionally he observed that the handyman who had installed my Tarkett floor had all the plank seams going straight across and that contributed to the "popping up" that I was experiencing along with my special bumps. He explained that real hardwood floor planks are installed in different lengths to make them
Chicago Flooring Installers Provider Name Locked
better and he would do the same thing with my vinyl plank floor. He promised me that most people wouldn't even be able to tell if was not a hardwood floor.
How did it end up?
Chicago Flooring Installers Provider Name Locked
kept all his promises. He did all the major work himself. The quailty of work was excellent. He did extra trim work around the walls to make everything look great. He went and personally picked up my flooring I had purchaed (and pre-paid for) at Century Tile along with the cement. He had to run to Home Depot to buy some trim that wasn't on new, raw walls. He went above and beyond in every way. He even had little "thank you" client gifts that were a great surprise and very smart marketing on his part.
And guess what, when my girlfriends came over this past Saturday for my "kitchen housewarming" dinner party, they thought I had installed hardwood flooring!
I can't wait to work with him again when I remodel my 2 bedrooms. I'm also going to look into the possibility of having him install ceramic tile in my condo association building. He's just fantastic all around! I'm glad I found him and glad he's my neighbor.
Thank you
Chicago Flooring Installers Provider Name Locked
! I look forward to enjoying my floor for many years to come.

"Although as a "Condominium Board" we did not have the repairs performed, WE APPRECIATE the flexibility in scheduling early morning appointments and that HE was most accommodating and polite with our difficult unit owner! The professionalism he showed and knowledge was quite impressive to us, I would love to have the opportunity to use him for our future work! Thank You so much
