Chicago Digital Camera Shop Reviews

is a very nice man, and is very knowledgeable. I dropped off my camera and he said it would be ready in 2 weeks. At the time I wasn't in a big rush so I didn't pay extra to rush the order. Two and a half weeks later I hadn't heard anything so I called back. He told me he had been backed up with rush orders. He told me to call back in a week. A week later when I called he told me the same thing; I finally had to get a little harsh and tell him I needed the camera that weekend for my sister's wedding and I expected it to be done in the next two days. He told me he would have it done in two days; when I called, finally, it was ready. He did a great job and saved me the expense of buying a new camera, but if you are in a big hurry pay for the rush order."
"I brought my camera in to their shop, they said they would call in a few days with an estimate. The next afternoon I got a call that the estimate would be $110 and I gave them the go-ahead to fix the camera. Three days later I got a call that it was ready for pick-up. I went back, made sure it worked, and wrote them a check (they don't take credit cards). "
"Had dust and a black

on my Nikon D80 sensor. Took to APS on Monday morning, and they fixed it and had it ready for pickup on Tuesday afternoon. By bringing in all the proper documentation (original receipt, and warranty card), they performed all the work at no charge to me."
"I would not use them again. My camera had to get sent to Jamesburg NJ, since it is a EOS

G. The person I spoke with, was a customer service person not the repair person, so they did not know much. I wish, I would have used one of the other Angie's List companies, because I feel, I would have been able to speak to a person, that was doing the repair."
"Called Canon, they said bring it in and gave their hours. They were very friendly and told me what the base charge was to fix the camera. I asked if they would call when it was done. Well they called the next day and said it was fixed at the original cost of repair. We went there the day after and picked it up and it works great."

was very nice and clearly explained his process (send in your camera & he will est. repair for free). Although the company is in Indiana, I felt very comfortable sending my Canon digital camera after talking with him over the phone. The work was completed at a minimal expense. My only caution is to not be in a rush. He had to order parts which took a while to get. But once the parts were in, the actual repair was quick. Overall timing start to finish was about a month & a half. I would definitely use him again for any camera repair! I sent in an inquiry on the website, & the auto reply had a coupon for $10 return shipping and 10% of repair charge. It was a very good deal. I'm not sure if it still is available."
"I brought him a 30 year old professional grade SLR that all other repair specialists claimed could not be repaired. He quickly inspected it, diagnosed the problem, and said he could fix it. He gave me the estimate, called in a few days with an in-depth diagnosis, and gave me the final cost (same as the initial estimate). I had previously brought him my main working camera and it was the same excellent service that time as well. It's a one-man shop, so a repair can take about 2 weeks, but for an extra fee he will rush the repair for you. And make sure to note that he does not accept credit cards. But I've trusted him with the most valuable tools of my trade and he has never disappointed me. He is kind, thorough, knowledgeable, and his prices are reasonable. I recommend him to every photographer and aspiring photographer I know who is in need of repairs to any type of camera."
"Great experience as other repair places focused on my buying a new camera as it was not ''worth it'' to repair my Cannon EOS because it was film. Since I really enjoy working with this camera, I was thrilled when

could fix it at the lowest cost and did not try to up sell me to a new camera. I was pleased with the service and knowledge and will return to this store in the south east loop."
"My camera was under warranty and kodak had me use this company. My experience was not a good one. My camera lens would not open. I called the company and set up a time for them to fix it. I told them that I have to have it back in a week, because I was leaving on a trip. They said it was not a problem. I dropped it off on a monday. The woman behind the desk was not friendly at all. I filled out the form and told her again I needed it in a week. She said she would call me when it was fixed. By wed. Nobody called. I called thursday and they didn't even start to look at it. I spoke to a manager and she said I can come pick it up monday. I went monday to pick it up and took the camera on vacation. Only to find, the lens was all blurry. None of my pictures came out. When I got home, I called them and they said I could bring it back in and they will ship it back to me. They finally fixed it, but I was annoyed that it took so long and they didn't suggest shipping until the 2nd time."
