I don't know what others are talking about with all of the great reviews. This guy diagnosed the leaking fitting as a bad pump. After I insisted he look at the leaking fitting which he insisted did not use "O" rings he grudgingly tried one I provided which fixed the leak fine. I had hoped by calling a "professional" he would know the exact size required, instead I guessed at the size and had to convince him to try it. Diagnosed the tilt/trim solenoid clicking as a bad solenoid rather than a weak battery. Broke the wiring to the solenoid and didn't fix it, saying he would be back with a solenoid later. (I charged the battery and fixed the wiring, it works fine). He did fix the bilge pump wiring. His bill started at $75.00 then he asked for 90 then 100. He got 90 and since he broke more than he fixed I think that is a rip off. In my opinion he hasn't got a clue and is making up problems to justify high charges. Check out his add, not bonded, not insured and I am guessing never trained by any of the major marine companies. Use at your own risk but if you do ask detailed questions when it doesn't seem to make sense. OBTW I am a retired mechanical engineer who just retired from Newport News Shipbuilding in Virginia.

service staff tried to make the case that the boat was not being operated properly. They kept changing their speculation on the cause of the problem over 12 months and tried to retroactively claim the owner was doing something incorrectly. This was despite the fact that owner went out on a test cruise with the technician and the technician observed that the owner was doing everything properly. Over this period
staff speculated the problem could be attributable to a wide range of potential issues, including the boat as configured by Sea
didn't have sufficient power to achieve plane, the boat was overloaded (with only one passenger and the stated capacity of the boat is for 6 passenger) or alternatively the outdrive was not down when attempting to plane, despite the fact that the problem was occurring even when the was fully lowered when going to plane.
Nonetheless they insisted on charging for diagnostic services that accomplished nothing. They couldn't find the source of the problem. Furthermore, despite repeated requests, they would not answer questions by the owner on, should the problem persist, whether or not the warranty would cover finding the problem and getting it fixed . Generally the staff was not professional in responding to requests from the owner on precisely what the warranty would cover.
hey They appeared more interested in maximizing billing for diagnostic service for engine problems, and wanted to charge $480 to perform "diagnostic services" when the engine alarm and warning
notified the owner of a malfunction attributable to a faulty sensor. They refused to answer questions if the problem was indeed attributable to a faulty sensor would the diagnostic service be covered under the warranty.
They are happy to sell you a new boat, but when it comes to service under the warranty, they will try to charge the owner for all issues upfront that arise and avoid giving honest assessments of what will be covered by the warranty prior to the start of any work.

Boat Sales reviews in Chicago

He was so detailed in his work. All our tiles are not just even, they look wonderful! The walls are like new which says a lot for this 30+ yr old house. He was prompt and on time both days he was here. He worked fast and neatly. You never know when you hire someone if they are gonna leave a mess.

Overall, the service was poor. Even after signing a contract and paying a 50% deposit it took a couple phone calls to get them to come and complete the work. The work was performed before my new pontoon was delivered. They said they didn't need the boat present to set lift to fit it. I naively paid them when they said the work was done. Shame on me. I know better, but I'm a trusting guy and this was a
Chicago Boat Dealer Provider Name Locked
job. When the pontoon was delivered a week later and I tried to fit it on the lift, the bunk boards were not correctly positioned. The contract specifically stated they would adjust the lift to fit my boat.
I contacted them by phone five times over a period of three and a half weeks. The only response I got was, "I don't know when we can get down there."
I finally did the work myself, as my boat and lift were growing a coat of algae.
I sent them an email telling them I was going to file a complaint and asked for a partial refund. Of course, they said they'd come right down. I told them there was no longer any need for their services. I was promised a partial refund, June 9, 2014. I'm still waiting.
I have contacted
Chicago Boat Dealer Provider Name Locked
twice in the past for service and they just never followed through. No money changed hands and I was mostly annoyed.
This project was bigger and worth some money to them. I expected a little more interest on their part.
They are the only distributor for HydroHoist boat lifts in the central Indiana area. It's a great product, but if you need service, it's DIY.

perfect. Have used
Chicago Boat Dealer Provider Name Locked
for several years and he is always on time and does a very thorough job. There have been times when I have asked him to do a service and he talked me out of it to save some money, very honest and dependable. Highly recommend!

This company has no idea what they are doing. I had them place a dock and hoist on my property. First the placed two boards on backwards and put the boat hoist in backwards. The final straw is when they lost the key to the electronic hoist. When I tried to call them all I received was a voice mail and no call back. After spending that amount of money I would hope he would of completed the work correctly and on time. I don't recommend this company to anyone. Avoid them at all cost.

Have used these guys many times for boat service - they always do a great job at a fair price. Always very friendly and willing to give advice or lend a hand. Rich has even given me advice when I was actually buying a boat somewhere else. They are very busy which means sometimes you have to wait but to me that is a sign they are doing something right.

listed a 2007 Sea

The sales person is D.A.
Chicago Boat Dealer Provider Name Locked
, the owner of
Chicago Boat Dealer Provider Name Locked
I am in New
Chicago Boat Dealer Provider Name Locked
, so the boat was not too far away from me.
I looked at the boat, we agreed on a price and I sent a deposit along with the Sales Agreement.
The boat was surveyed and sea trailed on June 11th, 2014.
One engine was found to have a mechanical problem and the boat was not 'Accepted' as per the sales agreement.
This was communicated verbally and in writing.
D.A. agreed to return the deposit.
A few days later, I called D.A. asking about the return of the deposit.
He said it would be mailed within a few days.
I called back several times since, and now D.A. is not taking my calls and he has not responded to voice messages or emails.
I am still trying to get my deposit back -- will probably have to get an attorney involved.

I was totally impressed with
Chicago Boat Dealer Provider Name Locked
and his wife, Maurny. At first, they turned down the business because trailers that old 19 years have many issues rust, poor breaks and tires etc. I respect someone that tells you the truth. They guided me in a fair amount of detail on what to look out for in selecting a hauler. I went to Bay City Michigan and bought the boat. When I was there I took extensive pictures of the trailer, brakes and tires. There were three spare tires. The boat/trailer spent most of it's life in a barn and was in great condition. I had the bearings repacked and brakes inspected. I came back and called
Chicago Boat Dealer Provider Name Locked
for a recommendation, his wife said they would look at the pictures and decide. I got another quote . which was nearly half of
Chicago Boat Dealer Provider Name Locked
price. I paid
Chicago Boat Dealer Provider Name Locked
twice the price because he had all the credentials, insurance, experience etc. I don't think one should just take the lowest price when trailering an expensive boat. Even though most haulers are insured, damage to the boat would have cost me a sailing season.
