Architect Service Reviews in Chicago

The project got off to a good start - and they were very professional initially. That was until Mr.
decided to backtrack on contractual commitments that were made, and he did not have the follow through the complete the work and abandoned the project. I would not recommend them for future work. Even though they did not complete the project, and as per the contract and I was entitled to withhold payment, he still proceeded to file a

was great - she walked through the entire process of rehabbing our house, something we'd never done before. She provided three full possible layouts for the house, and was very accommodating in figuring out how to merge together the features we loved from each option.
She helped us review bids when the time came and then was present regularly throughout construction. She was good in dealing with difficult contractors and with resolving problems that came up unexpectedly.
If you are working on a big project like this, I'd highly recommend working with

we've now been living in the house for nearly a year - the layout is fantastic and works for our every need!

Architect Service reviews in Chicago

We fell into a family owned 75 year old house after my husband's great
uncle passed away and couldn't pass up the good deal. COULD do without
the pink kitchen and yellow and black bathroom tiles. Aesthetics aside,
there were some serious layout issues with the house that made it seem
smaller than it actually was. Before just hiring a general contractor,
we talked to Jereme to see if he had some design ideas that would be
more interesting than just "knock down some walls and put new drywall
Jereme worked really hard to keep within budget while still
adding some fun touches that everyone comments on, like a reclaimed wood
soffit that defines the kitchen area. He also used every square inch
of the home to make sure we didn't have any wasted spaces. We used barn
doors to make old bathrooms feel bigger and built ins to make the most
of slanted attic walls. Overall, everything was on time and any extras
were clearly laid out.
Communication over email was great and he
was very organized as we went along with the to do list and keeping all
of the contractors on task. I would highly recommend
Chicago Architects Provider Name Locked

and will definitely use them again if we buy another house.

The owner
Chicago Architects Provider Name Locked
Swicionis, and his GM
Chicago Architects Provider Name Locked
were knowledgeable and polite, and cleaned up after the demolition and throughout the process. The charged exactly the price they quoted and when
Chicago Architects Provider Name Locked
had to buy a
Chicago Architects Provider Name Locked
to re-install our microwave (since it was not installed properly before the demolition and it was the only kitchen appliance we re-used in the project,) he wouldn't even take money for it.
C & W Building did great work, on time and were really nice to work with and I never worried about leaving them alone in my home while I went to work. They gave good cousel throughout the project too.

This is the second time we have used
Chicago Architects Provider Name Locked
& build services. Last time we used them for our investment property, and now to renovate our home we live in - it was a gut rehab. What I liked the most -
Chicago Architects Provider Name Locked
really tried to do his best. He listened to our ideas and needs. Communications during the process were fluid, and for us that was very important. We knew what is happening with our project, and
Chicago Architects Provider Name Locked
is always easy to reach. We did not have any major issues during the construction process - everything seemed to be well organized. I would not say that he is the most cheapest contractor; we compared couple other firms, but the service was so good and the quality also looks outstanding. Since
Chicago Architects Provider Name Locked
also redesigned our place, he took care of all the design aspects as well. I really think we made a good choice by choosing
Chicago Architects Provider Name Locked
& build to design and renovate our home.

Our condo has an unusual floor plan for its living room/dining room space, and we have struggled for years to figure out a layout that was functional and looked nice. We tried at one point with a local designer, and didn't really like what he came up with.
We were incredibly happy with
Chicago Architects Provider Name Locked
's designs! We offered a reward of $375 (which was what
Chicago Architects Provider Name Locked
recommended), plus the fee to
Chicago Architects Provider Name Locked
. We received 9 submissions, and I would say that 7 of them were really great. There were 3 or 4 layouts that would have all worked -- we ended up incorporating a few options together, and going with a design that we would have never come up with ourselves. It looks really great! It was also a fun and interesting process to see all the different versions of our apartment that could be possible.
Although the service is somewhat pricey, I think that it was really worth it for us. We got what I believe to be better ideas through "crowd sourcing" the design than we would have from working with a single designer. Plus, a local designer would have cost more. Finally, we were prepared to buy new furniture if needed. However, we also gave the designers images of other furniture we had available in other rooms that could be incorporated. The design we chose ended up going with uses only existing pieces. So, I think that in the long run we saved a lot of money because we didn't end up buying anything new as we had anticipated. I like a lot of my old furniture much better in its new functional design!
I would definitely use
Chicago Architects Provider Name Locked
again in the future.

He designed the porch a couple of years ago and it was built immediately thereafter. His design solved a lot of safety, access and drainage problems. A few weeks ago when I was going to get a license from the City for a completely unrelated use at the building, my records showed that a final inspection had never been called for on the porch. So, I had the iron inspector out and he discovered not only that the construction was subpar, but that the contractor had not even followed
Chicago Architects Provider Name Locked
's plans. He refused to pass it but said that if I could get a letter from the architect saying that the porch was sound as-built, that would be good enough for him.
I immediately contacted
Chicago Architects Provider Name Locked
and he immediately swung into action. He explained to me that I needed to get the weld sizes in writing from the contractor, who in turn, needed to get them from the subcontractor who did the steel construction. The contractor was stalling a bit but
Chicago Architects Provider Name Locked
kept the pressure on. Then
Chicago Architects Provider Name Locked
did a site visit with a structural engineer who was able to detail all of the problems so that
Chicago Architects Provider Name Locked
could draw up some plans to retrofit the porch.
Chicago Architects Provider Name Locked
even went above and beyond the call of duty to take it upon himself to appeal to the contractor to rectify the situation. I wasn't even going to ask them because I thought I'd have to practically
Chicago Architects Provider Name Locked
them to get them to admit any wrong-doing and I didn't feel like having that kind of conflict in my life. Instead, I got a call from the contractor saying that
Chicago Architects Provider Name Locked
told him about the problem and that he would come out and fix it at his own expense! When does THAT ever happen?! I owe it all to
Chicago Architects Provider Name Locked

Chicago Architects Provider Name Locked
was very knowledgeable and helpful from the start. We had a lot of difficulty trying to get a permit with our architect's help.
Chicago Architects Provider Name Locked
jumped in and did what needed to be done to get the permit in a timely fashion. She knows all of the ins and outs of getting a permit as well as what exactly the city wants to see on the architectural drawings.
We would highly recommend using her to get an expedited permit. If we hadn't already been working with an architect, I would have worked with
Chicago Architects Provider Name Locked
on our drawings as well.

We met with several different contractors to remodel our upstairs bathroom. We chose
Chicago Architects Provider Name Locked
because they were personable and through with the estimate. When the workmen started we had questions and they were very polite and knowledgable. We did have some issues with the dye lot on the tiles because the tile was purchased at different stores (not
Chicago Architects Provider Name Locked
's fault) but
Chicago Architects Provider Name Locked
replaced it at no additional cost. The workmen cleaned up every evening before they left the job site. We felt the craftsmanship was superior so we hired them to replace our front inside entry oak staircase and it turned out so well that we asked them to remodel our kitchen and add a bathroom and then reconfigure our laundry area in the basement which included plumbing and electrical. All of the plumbing in the house was replaced while the walls were all open. They also moved and installed a new hot water heater and upgraded our electrical service. We are happy with the work and the customer service the team provided and would highly recommend them.

Chicago Architects Provider Name Locked
and his team did a great job in providing the designs for both bathrooms, not an easy task as the main floor remodel called for a 'see through' fish tank feature (as part of the shower wall), as well as some other unique design elements. Following our approval of the design, the construction aspect went extremely well; exceptional quality work (tile, fixtures, flooring, etc.), on time and on budget.
Additionally, we live in an older building, and some of the plumbing aspects were complex. The
Chicago Architects Provider Name Locked
team was able to solve various challenges to ensure the job was done exactly as promised. The construction crew was very courteous to both us and or neighbors (noise, use of the freight elevator, etc.), and despite the amount of work being done, extremely clean.
I highly recommend
Chicago Architects Provider Name Locked
for design and remodeling projects.
