Plumbing Reviews in Charlotte

In June 2014, I contacted our home warranty company because
of a leak. They sent the service call to

came out to check out the leak we believed to be coming from our toilet. He
removed the toilet, replaced the wax ring, reinstalled toilet. About 3o days
later on 7/18/14, the leak returned and so did
told us, and wrote
it on the receipt, that "Toilet flange has become un-level. Flange seems
to have shifted, no longer allowing a seal to maintain. Need flooring
contractor to repair floor for proper toilet install."
told me that
the floor needed to be ripped up so we could secure the flange and support it
since it had shifted. He never gave any indication that the plumbing repairs
necessary to accompany the flooring repair, were not going to be covered by our
home warranty company. Based on
' recommendation, we hired a
contractor to repair the floor. The flooring contractor came out on 8/5/14 to
rip up the floor. I requested
to send out the plumber on the day
that the contractor would start so he could aid in the repair.

never returned my phone call. When I finally got them on the phone, they told
me that a plumber would be coming out on 8/7/14 to take off the flange and
install a pipe extension per the contractor's request.
, a different
plumber, came out almost 2 hours late on 8/7/14 and wrote on the receipt that
"Flange is secure and NOT MOVING - it did not shift."
then told
me that
had left the company and could only go by what he saw. He said it
was his professional opinion that the flange was secure and it wasn't possible
that it had shifted.
gave me an estimate of $980 to have the repairs done
that we needed. I was floored. He said he couldn't be certain because the floor
had already been ripped up, but that he didn't think the reason we had been
given to have the floor ripped up was valid.
said it was impossible for
the flange to slip.
I requested the owner of
, to call me on 8/8/14. He did call
me, and told me that he stood by
' assessment of the situation and that
was wrong - that the flange could in fact shift. He then said that he
would see if he could make the repairs "easier on your wallet"
however he never called me back as he said he would.
In the mean time, we had another plumbing company come out. This plumber said
that he was so certain that the flange had not shifted, that he would write a
letter on his company letterhead to support that. It was his opinion that we
had not needed to have the floors fixed as he didn't think the flange was the
issue. After receiving this information, I called
back on 8/11/14
and asked the office manager to ask
if he was going to reimburse us for
the expenses we were now incurring because of
' written assessment.

called me back and said "It isn't my responsibility to pay for your
contractor. What he charges isn't my business." He also accused me of
trying to defraud him. When I explained that I had two conflicting written
assessments from his own employees, he told me that wasn't his problem. When I
told him that I had an independent plumber who said I was given false
information, he told me "That is hearsay. It is his word against
mine." When I asked him where the pictures were of my home that
taken while still employed by
, he said
had taken them with
his own personal camera and not given them to the company. When I asked if that
was his policy,
said "No it isn't but it isn't my responsibility if
he doesn't take them with the phone I provided to him." When I asked him
if he had tried to retrieve the images from
told me that

wasn't returning his phone calls. I asked if he could have
call me, he
said "It is against company policy to allow a former employee to have
further contact with a customer after they are no longer employed with
us." I told him I wasn't a customer of
"No, you are certainly not."
refused to take any responsibly for
giving us false information.

Be careful when purchasing these deals thinking that you are getting something great when somehow the Provider always manages to add on additional costs once they get to your house. I took the morning off from work to get the issue of a slow drip faucet and a clogged toilet repaired. The Plumber showed up, and after looking at me from head to toe in a way that was a bit uncomfortable, he looked at the toilet and then the faucet which I had turned off the night before since my water bill had tripled over the past 3-months as a result of the leak. He waited 1 min and said there is nothing wrong with the faucet, as he doesn't see a drip. This is my house and prior to me turning off the water, the sink has been wet every day whether or not it was used and even hours after it was used. In the next breath he said, it will cost $265 to do this type of job. Seriously? He was not even aware that I had purchased a $79 coupon for $250 worth of work on Angie's Lst. He said "I don't know anything about those coupons and I don't set these prices." I told him to leave my house as I paid $99 previously to fix the same leaky faucet with Rapid Rooter and it took them all but 15-mins. So, I didn't think this job was worth $265 and according to him there was nothing wrong with the faucet so I am not sure why he was quoting me $265. I called the company to complain and some Supervisor called back only to say that their prices are what they are and that they are comparable to other companies. He did apologize for the experience and said he would talk to the Plumber but that was the extent of that. So, I called Angie's List to get a refund of my $79. They are going to find another company to do the work and apply my $79 to their cost.

We just closed on our house and I knew we needed a new water heater. After talking to Will on the phone, he sold me on his quote and service. I had him come out to replace the unit the same day we also scheduled other contractors to replace our floors. To my surprise, the contractors started on the stairs ahead of the planned schedule. I was worried this would cause conflict with the water heater installation due the fact that some of the steps were missing. This did not phase Will or his partner at all!!! He simply grabbed his tools and headed upstairs to start on the unit. The total replacement of the heaters took about two hours. Despite the lack of stairs, they took on the challenge of an upstairs water heater as if it was nothing. The most surprising part was how clean they left the area!! After finishing, Will even went as far to help answer any questions I had in regards to the plumbing of our new house AND helped me fix a broken pipe on our irrigation system. In all, I could not recommend a better person/plumber for home projects such as a hot water heater. I now know he will be the person we will turn to for future plumbing needs

Our kitchen sink had clogged, and upon trying the usual methods - including a bottle of drano, and running the disposal, the clog would not free. Went on to Angie's List to find Rapid Rooter who had performed a service for me about a year ago to take care of a bathroom sink. They had a deal for $124 to unclog one drain, and based off pricing from other plumbers, seemed reasonable and purchased the deal at about noon today. I called Rapid Rooter up, and they had someone at my house by 3p. The plumber was very friendly and professional. He showed me a trick of the trade to unclog kitchen sinks - which was to fill the garbage disposal side up with water, then cover the other side's drain with a sink stopper - and the force of the disposal will typically push the clog free. He cautioned that your pipes need to be in decent shape though, as the pressure could break them if they are already brittle. So - he did this little maneuver, and had it unclogged about 30 seconds after showing up. So I didn't feel bad, he went ahead and ran a snake through the drain to be sure nothing was left, and it came out clean - so we are good to go. Since I thought $124 was worth the price of a clog free drain, I guess it really shouldn't matter how long it takes to fix it. Next time I will have another tactic to try thanks to this technician. All in all, good experience, and I will likely call them back if I run into another situation in the future.

took the time to figure out what was wrong with the sump pump. The first plumber I called through my homeowner's warranty told me I needed to replace it for $1500.00.

felt it could be fixed and I am hoping to get a few more years out of it. He also figured out why my master bath shower was taking so long to heat up. The last plumber did a repair and then forgot to turn the water heater back on so that the heater in my attic was being used for the whole house instead of having the one in the basement heat the first floor.

's based on reviews on angie's list.
within four hours the plumber was here and found the leak which was caused by a screw that the last plumber we hired had screwed into the cold water line he replaced.
plumber had to open wall in kitchen behind sink to replace the water line. he explained the work as he did it and had no problem having us watch and take pictures to show previous plumber who had created the problem.
The job took about an hour and he gave us the bad parts, explained what had happened, and wrote a detail of the problem and how it was caused by the screw in the water line rusting.
I highly recommend
