"I hired to replace the bermuda grass in my backyard with fescue. This involved killing the bermuda in two phases and then aerating and seeding the lawn. We only discussed doing this to the backyard because it is fenced in and has a shrubs/mulch around the fence which will help keep the neighbor's bermuda from creeping into the ...more yard. However,

accidentally killed the grass in the FRONT lawn as well. He apologized and said don't worry because the neighbor's bermuda will eventually grow in my lawn. It's still completely dead a month later and I'm going to have to hire someone else to fix it because he won't. He did put some fescue seed down at my request so there'd be something green... but he didn't prep the soil or aerate. I put down mulch along my fence all around the backyard after killing the bermuda and before planting the fescue. I had asked

for a quote and he was going to charge $2900 for 60 cubic yards. My entire yard (front and back) is only 1/3 acre. I did the calculation myself and 20 cubic yards was plenty for 3-4 inch thick mulch in a 6-8 ft wide bed all around my backyard. He explained that he must have done some calculations wrong. Anyway, I paid about $500 for everything and it took me about 6 hours. When he aerated and seeded the back lawn, he punctured the drop irrigation system in several places even though I had clearly marked it with little flags and had explained to him to avoid it. At this point, I asked him for a refund of $400 which is 50% of what he had charged me. I did not want him to repair the irrigation system because at that point I did not trust the quality of his work. He refused to refund anything even though he caused more than $800 in actual damage to my lawn, between killing the entire front lawn and causing extensive damage to my irrigation system. I'm disputing the charge with Visa since that is how I paid. I don't think

is outright dishonest or out to defraud anyone, but the quality of his work is very poor and he makes a lot of mistakes. He does a fine job of mowing lawns, but don't hire him to anything more than that or you may regret it."

"My lawn never looked consistently good. It constantly had issues with it that could not, would not, or did not fix. Everytime I complained, I got some answer regarding the special conditions in North , the weather, my neighbors yard, the drought, car tires blowing bermuda seeds up from the street etc. ...more etc. All these things may be true, but if so, then they should have said "we can't get your lawn green, all fescue grass and free of weeds on a consistent and ongoing basis." I dealt with them for a long time and all I heard were excuses all the while they continued to take my money. One employee said their "natural" products to

the weeds were mild and they required repeated visits, but they did not make the repeated visits. Only very recently was I told that I had to call to get the tech to show up again for free visits. Why do I have to do this if you know the mild chemicals need more visits? By the way, I only learned that I got additional "free" visits between paid visits very recently. All the while I have been talking to them about my lawn, I was not told until the last few weeks that I could get more visits. My lawn looked so bad at one point I took pictures of the crazy looking tall weeds and emailed them to their office. Anyway, once I started asking for these additional visits and requesting that they get my lawn in decent shape, they fired me as a customer! Once again if it was not possible for them to give me an all green, generally weed free, generally all fescue lawn, then they should have told me that upfront or after my first complaint so I could decide myself if I wanted to pay for "C" results when my expectation was for an "A" lawn. I consider this a shoddy business practice. The the above circumstances are preventing me from having a golf course looking front yard then I can pay $50/year and do it myself. The guy firing me was really the last straw. My yard has weeds of all kind all over it and now he's telling me that I am wrong for trying to get what I was paying for. Would you continue to see and pay a personal trainer if you never lost weight and they blamed it on factors outside your control like your age and genetic factors?"
