"I called and he personally answered the phone.  I told him a few things I wanted done around the house and he came to my house and took a look at what I wanted done and then gave me an estimate.  When he showed up at my house to start working ,he was very personable and made sure with me that I understood ...more exactly what work he was doing and what the estimated price would be before he started working.  He took time to answer all my questions and did not rush me.  He checked with me anytime there was an additional charge that was not calculated due to unforseen circumstances or additional request that I would give him.  He was always punctual and always very kind and professional while he worked.  All the jobs I had him do at my house could not gone any smoother or better.  Everything was done to perfection and looked beautiful.  From start to finish with

"Contracted with , ' ' on recommendation of a peer at work.  came out week of 04/11.  After some discussion of the job, signed the workorder, and expected them back by the end of the week.  They did not show up, or call.  Got a callback Monday, 04/18, claiming ...more 'weather' delays. Started work 04/19.  Removed Silver Maple on the fence line as discussed, however,

had indicated prior to and after the work they would separate the chain link fence from the tree stump (over grown) as part of the price.  In fact, we had negotiated a higher price for them to do that task as opposed to me.  Well, they didn't remove the fence and managed to remove the tree.  Fence is still grown into the stump and will cost me extra when the stump is ground. They found a problem with one of the main trunks on the large Silver Maple, and required an additional $150 to remove it.  We agreed. The river birches were trimmed as requested, as were the bushes front left of the house.  However, not all volunteers were removed from the beds.  Just the ones we pointed out explicitly during the estimate.  When confronted with this,

claimed 'Oh I didn't know you wanted those removed'.  Shame on me for not marking each and every 'pest' plant in the bed to be removed, I guess. The biggest issue of all is around the 'mulch' generated by the grinding of the trees.  We had asked

about using mulch from the tree removal for our yard, and he agreed it would be ideal for that purpose, and would save them some money to not have to haul it off.  The "mulch" turned out to be single ground, very large, sharp, and messy pieces of wood that are not suitable for ground mulch in a back yard with children running barefoot.  In order for it to be usable it would have to be ground at least once more.  Further, the mulch was dumped partially in my driveway (OK) and covering a good bit of adjacent yard/grass (not OK).  When confronted by my wife on the fact the mulch was on our grass and bound to

was unprofessional and rude to my wife and a friend.  Completely unacceptable.  We had to insist and argue multiple times to get the mulch moved off the grass, which never was completed.  At that point we had a dilemma, unusable mulch blocking our driveway, and killing grass.  Verbally agreed with

to re-grind, and spread the mulch in the backyard for an additional $400.  I had originally planned to move/spread it myself, but due to the delay in getting the job done, and the fact the mulch was unusable in current state, I could not get it off the grass myself in a timely fashion. 

indicated they would get to it as soon as the next day (04/20) or the following (04/21) to minimize time smothering the grass.  They did not show up or call.  Further, we had an agreement for

to come out 04/21 evening to negotiate stump grinding on the removed tree.  No show/no call, again. Other issues with the job include leaving large holes in the backyard, presumably from fallen large branches from the large Silver Maple, didn't bother to mention it much less correct/repair. We would definitely not recommend these guys, they were not the best price quoted, we had other quotes for less that included stump grinding (but with no yard/bed cleanup).  Further, with the lack of professionalism, failure to show up or follow up when promised, compounding that by not calling or returning phone calls, we're not sure how they're still in business in this economy.  Plenty of excellent service companies out there to compete with here that do what they say they're going to do for a good price, promptly and professionally.  "

"I was so happy with the results.  We decided to save some money by doing the pine needles ourselves and that is all that is missing from our lawn.  listened to what I wanted (i.e. the Japanese maple was to provide some privacy in our screened in porch) and provided us the PERFECT tree!  I am so happy that the horrible ...more monkey grass and timbers are gone.  My yard looks beautiful!!!!!  I will definately use
