came over quickly and gave us a price of $205 to clean both shower doors. After 2 hours the glass was good as new. He also applied a repellent that is warrantied for 5 years to keep the glass from clouding up again. We noticed ...more the next day after taking a shower that the water beaded up and ran to the bottom. It was almost dry after just taking a shower. We're sold! "

"It did not go well. It was problems from the beginning and when I companied or asked about completion dates I was lied to about when it would be completed and how it would be completed. When I finally started wanting some sort of schedule then there ...more were "sudden" unexpected things that would set the project back although they had been thoroughly talked about before. When I would get Lowe's or the big bosses involved then everything would be okay for about two days and go right back to the same way it was. It was problems from the beginning. We were told 6-7 weeks for it to be completed and it took UP UNTIL JUNE, WHEN LOWES PULLED THEM OFF OF THE PROJECT AND GOT A WHOLE NEW COMPANY. DO NOT USE
AND IF SOMEONE SAYS THEY'RE ARE BEING SUBCONTRACTED, RUN FOR YOUR LIFE! "

"We had a leak in the master shower and decided to just gut and remodel the entire bathroom.
was great through the whole process because it took us a long time to decide what we wanted and feel ready to book the job. The work started on 3/10 and took only 5 weeks, much less time than many of our friends experienced with other ...more contractors. Everyone was so impressed that
was right on time with the original timeline he gave us!
did a lot of the work himself, and when he did bring in guys it was his own crew, not contractors.
was awesome and
's tile work can't be matched. We started enjoying coming home each day to see progress and talk to
The bathroom is amazing. The granite and tile vendors
partners with are top notch and we are in love with how everything turned out. We had the existing shower moved to another spot so it could be 5' x 4' and a wall torn down in order to create a 90" space for a vanity. Everything looks so amazing - the tile work is perfect and the shower is the best one I've ever showered in! During the process
also coordinated everything, so we didn't have to do any work. He coordinated all granite &tile delivery, cabinet install and inspection.
You might pay a little more, but it's totally worth it to go with
's professionalism is great and the work is beyond amazing. You will not be disappointed. "
"I am tired of having to babysit contractors and tell them how to do their job. I hired them to do the job not for me to do it. Ed
is a general contractor and is one that I should definitely NOT have to babysit. He originally quoted me $175 for installing the 2 contractor boxes for the light fixtures wiring, installing 2 light ...more fixtures, including to patch and paint the wall where the old light fixtures were (as long as the hole for the contractor box was not too big). He also said he would nail in a loose shoe mold and bring his ladder to snap back in place a loose soffit in the siding outside. He said he would not charge me extra for the shoe mold and soffit repair. When I called him back out to come and start the work, I added a couple things to the list. He came out and proceeded to install the light fixtures. However, he told me he had to think about how much it was going to cost to do the soffit repair and the new items I added to the list. He also told me he didn't want to do the soffit repair because he is allergic to bees and if there are bees up there he may get stung and that I need to get an exterminator first. When he originally came out, I showed him where the soffit was loose and told him I think bees are getting in the house through there. He NEVER mentioned being allergic to them.
He installed the contractor boxes for the lighting wiring and also installed the new light fixtures. He did patch the holes in the wall left behind by the old light fixtures. However, he now changed his story and told me he would have to make an extra trip to come and paint the wall and it would be an additional cost on top of the $175.
I explained to him that the $175 he quoted me was for all of the work including the patch and paint of the wall since the hole for the boxes was not too big. He still insisted that he was going to have to make an extra trip to do the painting and it would be an extra charge. He also he was not prepared to start on the remaining items we had discussed including repair of a shed and the new small jobs I added to the list. After some arguing, he said I could give him $150 for the work he did. Btw, the light fixtures DO NOT FIT in my space yet he still installed them and they look horrible. He didn't bother to climb on the ladder to see if the soffit piece can be snapped back in place. He also didn't bother to start work on the remaining items and said he was going to have to think about the cost and get back to me.
Another thing, he spent too much time while here talking and blabbing instead of working. He complained about his health issues, his mother's passing, etc, etc. He followed up later with an e-mail stating "After how things went today I do not think I am the contractor that you are looking for. With that in mind I will not return to do anything else. I did everything that I said I would do, even did a few things that I did not charge for and lowered the price we agreed on."
He lied, did not do what he said he would do for the price he would do it, spent over 3 hours at my house and didn't even complete the main part of the job properly, meanwhile he ran his mouth with too much blah blah instead of working. "
"We interviewed several contractors. JK was not the least expensive but he was very helpful in working out the design details. He also came highly recommended by 2 families that we know. We selected JK to remodel our kitchen which included removing two walls, installing a support beam, weaving in hardwood floors to match what was existing in some ...more rooms, refinishing floors, installing new cabinets and appliances, granite countertops, electrical panel upgrade, lighting upgrade, tile backsplash, new front and rear entry doors, removing a window and bricking up the outside to allow for more cabinet space on one wall, hvac ductwork, insulation and probably some more things that I can't remember. JK said it would be an 8 week project. The actual job took about 10 weeks but it was because we kept increasing the scope. We lived at home during the renovation. JK was careful to keep construction debris out of the way and did a great job cleaning up at the end of each day. He and the other contractors that he brought over were very professional and personable. I have worked with several contractors and have never been as pleased with the results as I have been with JKs work. I recommend him highly and will certainly use him again. "
fabricate and install it in our kitchen and bathrooms. The quality of the fabrication was superior. We had chosen granite that had large colorful patterns, which
was able to preserve so that our kitchen is beautiful. They cut the granite to allow the pattern ...more to carry from the countertop to the backsplash. In addition, on two separate occasions,
installed the granite expertly and did not damage any of our custom woodwork. They tightly secured the basins to the granite countertops in the bathrooms. They cleaned up nicely after both installations. "
"It was a great experience. He was very friendly and professional, and provided us with ideas to make our kitchen a "dream kitchen." Took measurements of our existing kitchen, provided samples and examples for us to choose from, and then sent us an electronic design of our kitchen. Unfortunately, the original design of our kitchen did not ...more allow for much reworking, so we will not be able to have our kitchen remodeled they way we had hoped. However, I would gladly recommend Kitchen Tune Up to friends and family! "
"My home was built in the 1960's and had a very boxed flow with small and dark defined rooms. I wanted to open it up and let in a lot more natural light with additional lighting. From the first visit with
I knew that I would be using
for the remodel. He was on time, very professional and understood ...more what I was hoping to accomplish. I saw one of my friends on their reference list, called and got a glowing recommendation which absolutely sealed the deal. The next visit included
their wonderful designer. We talked about what I wanted and they came back with 3 floor plans. After discussing the plans, I selected items from all three designs and
came up with a final version that was perfect. Next, I met
C. (project lead), Ditto and
P (they were all awesome to work with) and the demolition began. They put up thick plastic walls with zippers (I loved the zippers) that really kept the dust to a minimum in the parts of the house that were not under construction. It was amazing to watch my tiny little kitchen/dining/den area take on this brand new look. After demolition came framing with the same team. In fact the same crew did most of the construction.
does sub out the electrical, plumbing, flooring and tile work but all of their subs were great - professional and easy to work with. My construction took place over Christmas and I had set up a small tree in the front room plus I had an electric heater to keep that room warm enough to watch TV. One evening (after working hours) when it was extremely cold outside I kept tripping the breaker and called
C. for help. He got in touch with
the electrician who called me back within 30 minutes.
came first thing the next day and fixed the issue - the electric heater was using all the amps so he wired a temporary fix to a different circuit which kept me warm and able to watch TV with the Christmas tree lights on!
(the designer) went with me on all of the "shopping" trips and provided samples so I could look at them in the actual light of the kitchen. She was a joy to work with and helped me with a lot of my decisions - I could not have done it without her help. Having a professional designer on the team made a huge difference. Before long, it started to look like the designs. I absolutely love the changes and the craftsmanship is superb. The crews were professional, helpful (one example - they did their best to keep my washer and dryer available for as long as possible by moving them multiple times), and cleaned up everything before they left every day. The project completed on time and very close to on budget (budget differences were due to additions/changes I made to the original plan). I will definitely use
"I called him to set up an appt and he was very quick to respond. He showed up the next day at the time we agreed upon. Was very professional and they ( His partner
) cleaned up afterwards. He hauled both the old toilets away and then we went to the basement under the house area so he could look at the sewer pipe that had been ...more leaking. He was able to cut the section out and remove an obstruction and resize the pipe for a better flow. They then followed me about 2 miles over to my other house that my daughter lives in and fixed the upstairs commode that has been leaking for a while and been worked on by a few people including myself. He replaced the flap and filler valve and even though my daughter was hoping for a new toilet he was honest in saying that this would fix the problem and a new toilet was not necessary. In the where work performed section it would only allow one address , but he did work at two places. I will definetely use him again and also refer him to friends. "
