"
cut and installed our granite for a bathroom remodel. The end product was great however, from the template to the actual delivery of our granite was 3 weeks." That is simply way too long and has had my remodel seemingly going on forever. Then it was to be installed on a Tuesday. After no work on our remodel for those 3 weeks, the day was finally here. Contractor was ready but
did not show. They said they called and left a message that they needed one more day. That call may have happened but I never received a voice mail. They did show the next day, 2 hours late. This is my take. Small business owners are getting busy as the economy heats up. Then, please hire people to service your customers. 3 weeks from template to delivery is WAY too long. I will look elsewhere for our next bathroom remodel next summer. I felt midlead.

"Contacted
and emailed measurements and pictures of the job to get a rough quote. This was helpful as I did not have to wait for him to come out and possibly" waste his or my time to get a quote After getting a couple other quotes, I decided to go with this company.
came out again to do the template measurements and collect 50% deposit. Less than a week later he came back and installed the countertops. They look great. Another positive: The kitchen had a corner sink base, and the size of the sink base made putting a double bowl sink challenging.
had no problems scooping the sides of the cabinets to fit the double bowl sink. Everything was cleaned up after the job. Will use
again on another project.

Artificial (quartz) is cheaper, more uniform, has fewer voids to collect dirt, and is almost as abrasion and chip resistant.

Granite is more expensive, stains and collects dirt a little easier as a rule, and is slighly more chip resistant as a rule.

For durability, I would not rate one over the other - barring a 250 lb guy hopping up on it and cracking it, either is likely to outlive you. Selection is typically based on appearance - quartz tends to be more uniform looking and does not always do a good job of simulating the veining and variations that natural stone has.

?

Now some of the man made stone counters rival the real granite and othe stones without the maintainence of stone. There are many of them out there and it is more a choice of looks than anything else. Corian is still a strong choice of tops today and one advantage is it can be repaired when scratched on site. If you don't mind the maintainence you can't beat the looks of real stone though unless you need a few pieces to make up the top as the graining may be hard to match up. I am impressed though at how realistic some of the man made products have become. It is more an issue of what brand are available in your area. Most all are made the same way with crushed stone and basically an epoxy binder used to make the sheets.

We had a fantastic experience with
Charlotte Countertop Installers Provider Name Locked
Stone Marble and Granite! When we went to the warehouse to select a granite remnant for our downstairs 1/2 bath/powder room,

We purchased two remnants from
Charlotte Countertop Installers Provider Name Locked
during a warehouse sale on 5/3/14. The remnant we purchased for the countertop was 63 1/2" x 28.5". From this a bathroom vanity countertop was to be fabricated after a template was made. We asked that a 19" x 28.5" seat for our shower be made also from the same remnant if possible. In the even that it was not we purchased another seperate remnant.
A template was never made on site even after we asked them to do so multiple times in separate phone conversations. They said they received the dimensions from our builder,

of

Custom Homes, and that was good enough. The resulting countertop is not square with our walls and is 36 1/2" by 24 3/4". There is a gap between one of our walls and the countertop. We also asked that a seat for our shower be made from the same remnant and they said there wasn't enough material (keep in mind the original dimensions of the remnant).
We have overpaid for the material by $110. An on-site template was never made , which is a $75 service they are supposed to provide, in addition they never installed the countertop or sink.
We would like them to fabricate a new countertop for us from the same material (new slab), after an on-site template has been made. If this cannot be done then we ask that a 4" backsplash be fabricated to hide the gap (this actually takes less material). They have said they are not going to do either.
I've placed several calls and emails to them. On my last call today (8/7/2014), they said they fulfilled the terms of the contract to us. They obviously have not. I have filed a complaint with the Better Business Bureau and hope to get a satisfactory resolution to our complaint. I would not, however, recommend them to anyone. There are other fabricators with much better customer service. We are using someone else for our kitchen since our dealings with
Charlotte Countertop Installers Provider Name Locked
have proved to us that they cannot be trusted.

They arrived on time on the day they said they would...came in, introduced themselves and explained the process. Once that was done, they got to work immediately removing the old counters and backsplash. They gave me time to clean behind my
Charlotte Countertop Installers Provider Name Locked
(thank you!) and then started bringing in the granite. Once it was all brought in they started measuring and double, triple checking everything. We had one seam to be glued and it's hard to see where it is unless you look specifically for it. The sink installation was a breeze...cut the hole for our new faucet and put it in place. All with a smile on their faces. Any time I had a question they answered it completely. I would use them again and again for stone work in our home and recommend them highly to others.

They showed up on time and had excellent communication except for not following up with me to find out what I wanted to do with the leftover granite. Looks great. My other complaint is the selection in their yard is limited, and I had to drive around to different warehouses of other companies to find the slabs I wanted. I'm happy overall with my experience.
