Charlotte Auto Sales Reviews

"The initial experience was good. The staff was very responsive in letting me take the car for an extended drive to my mechanic who was over 30 miles away. The sales rep Mr.
Charlotte Auto Sales Provider Name Locked
, although acting like any other used car salesman with no class, did help me get everything I need, but was kind of slow and left me waiting for over an hour in the sales process. The sales negotiation was horrible. The manager only took 400 off of the sticker price, when I had a cash deal. Thats also not including a warranty I bought for the truck for another 2250. One month after getting the truck in my possession I had to make multiple phone calls to attempt to reach someone about receiving my tags. After finally leaving a message with the customer service manager, I received my tags three days before the temporary ones expired. The truck also had some problems not long after purchasing it. I took the truck to the Chevrolet dealership and had to have the Rear A/C Fixed, the water pump replaced, the serpentine belt replaced, the fuel injectors cleaned, and the air filter replaced, which was absolutely disgusting. I honestly think someone just traded in this truck and the dealership slapped a for sale sticker on it and put it on the lot. They did not even give me a full tank of gas with it when I left. The warranty company has also informed me that they have yet to receive payment for my contract on the truck which they have paid over 1500 in repairs and a six day rental for my car. I would not recommend anyone buying a used car from this dealership."

"I would not purchase a car from anywhere else. Their service department is fantastic. They are customer oriented and focused. Once we found this dealership, we haven't gone anywhere else and we never will. We like the product and the service."

"I had found a dump truck for sale by
Charlotte Auto Sales Provider Name Locked
and was drawn in by the fact their website that said they are family run and built in integrity. The website listed the truck as excellent condition. I live in
Charlotte Auto Sales Provider Name Locked
and drove an hour and half to test drive the truck. When I got back home I did some research and found 1 item with the air system that was illegal and an extreme safety violation. I had to tell THEM about this and they checked and agreed. While onsite I also found the bed needed to be relined ($1500) that had not been mentioned. I told them I wanted to take it to an independent dealer to have it mechanically checked out. I lined up a time the day before to meet them at 8am in the morning. The salesman (
Charlotte Auto Sales Provider Name Locked
) was not available so he lined up for someone to meet me. No one showed till 8:30 and even then it wasn't someone from
Charlotte Auto Sales Provider Name Locked
, it was someone from an adjoining shop who had keys to the truck. I told them the fuel gauge registered empty but the person there told me to get fuel from the station 3 blocks down. The truck ran out of fuel before reaching the gas station! now I have to call
Charlotte Auto Sales Provider Name Locked
and wait 30 minutes for them to send out the mechanics to prime the diesel engine. At 10:30 the truck is ready which is 2.5 hours after i had arrived to pick up the truck. I take it to the dealer and they find the exhaust manifold gasket needed to be replaced $700, front wheel seal $300, and two sets of brakes $600. When I return the truck to
Charlotte Auto Sales Provider Name Locked
there isn’t even anyone from
Charlotte Auto Sales Provider Name Locked
at their dealership so I had to leave the keys with a different person who works at the adjoining shop. When I emailed the repair list to the
Charlotte Auto Sales Provider Name Locked
salesman he just responded that the truck is no longer for sale? I had spent gas for two round trips from
Charlotte Auto Sales Provider Name Locked
to Greensboro ($4 a
Charlotte Auto Sales Provider Name Locked
) plus taken time to pick up the truck and take it to the independent dealer. When i ask about being reimbursed for the $60 in diesel I had to put in the dump truck when it ran out, they said i volunteered to put the fuel in the truck and that they won't pay. I explained that I had no choice and that their guy had told me to put the fuel in and they say its not their problem and to not contact them. I will not do business of any sort with
Charlotte Auto Sales Provider Name Locked
again.

"Terrible experience. Referred to
Charlotte Auto Sales Provider Name Locked
by mutual friend. Mutual friend is in the auto business and I am Godfather for a couple of his kids so I thought
Charlotte Auto Sales Provider Name Locked
would give me a fair deal.
Charlotte Auto Sales Provider Name Locked
and his Partner,
Charlotte Auto Sales Provider Name Locked
showed me a car which drove well and looked in good shape.
Charlotte Auto Sales Provider Name Locked
told me it had been completely looked over by the mechanic shop they used with all their cars, told me new brakes had been put on and that everything on the car checked out mechanically. GIven our mutual friend, I took
Charlotte Auto Sales Provider Name Locked
on his word and eventually bought the car.

A few days later, the Check Engine light came on...I took it back to
Charlotte Auto Sales Provider Name Locked
to see what could be done. I was referred to their mechanic who told me the engine light had been on prior to
Charlotte Auto Sales Provider Name Locked
selling it to me. After seeking another opinion, I discovered there was at least $2,000 worth of mechanical repairs needed to get it to pass NC tests. I called
Charlotte Auto Sales Provider Name Locked
and was told he would gladly put it back on the lot to resell it. When I questioned the ethics of that option, he said that he would not tell anyone about the mechanical needs and that his customers were somewhat transient and it would be no problem. I have since discovered through further investigation, this car was possibly sold earlier in 2011 by
Charlotte Auto Sales Provider Name Locked
et
Charlotte Auto Sales Provider Name Locked
and that it had failed to pass NC tests so, guess what he did....it appears he resold it on his lot. I have not verified the story yet regarding whethre he actually sold the car (going to Criminal Division of DMV next week to research) but the issue is he was willing to resell it for me knowing it needed major repairs. I have since paid close to $2000 to get it up to scracth and will have to pay another $1000+ next year prior to NC testing to have the remaining repirts done.
In all, not even close to a good experience. This guy was willing to sell a screwed up car me although he knew my relationship with the referrring guy. Stay away, these guys are questionable. I am going to be interested in what the South
Charlotte Auto Sales Provider Name Locked
law does - South
Charlotte Auto Sales Provider Name Locked
has not adopted the Uniform Deceptive Trade Practices Act. The state governs deceptive trade practices through South
Charlotte Auto Sales Provider Name Locked
Unfair Trade Practices Act (“Act”). The Act is provided under Title 39, Chapter 5 of the South
Charlotte Auto Sales Provider Name Locked
Code.Section 39-5-10 defines ‘trade and commerce’ to include advertising and Section 39-5-20 declares unfair or deceptive acts or practices in the conduct of any trade or commerce as unlawful.

Below is a review from a person experiencing the same deceptive practices.

"I really liked them. They gave me a great deal! i got no interest for 36 months. Every time I service it they are fast, and super nice. I have no complaints, which is weird for a dealership, that's why I had to share my experience."

"Worked with a salesman named
Charlotte Auto Sales Provider Name Locked
and had an absolutely fantastic experience. No pressure, knowledgable, and I left feeling like I got a very good deal. Did a lot of research on line and confirmed this was true! They gave me and excellent trade-in value also. They also have a nice waiting area including one for kids which makes the whole experience a lot easier with children. Overall really excellent and I would definitely recommend them if you want a good value in a used car without a ton of hassle/haggle!!"

"We had always wanted to purchase car from there because we have had good luck with them. They were highly professional."

"The battery on this vehicle recently died (again) after leaving it in our garage for about 1 week and we called Mercedes Roadside Assistance to get a new battery. To make a very long story short, we were informed by
Charlotte Auto Sales Provider Name Locked
(the Service Manager) that
Charlotte Auto Sales Provider Name Locked
would not honor or support the written warranty we had received from
Charlotte Auto Sales Provider Name Locked
Imports. Apparently they have decided (arbitrarily) that they (
Charlotte Auto Sales Provider Name Locked
) would refuse to provide the warranty service that we were promised (in Writing) by
Charlotte Auto Sales Provider Name Locked
Imports and they claim that they are not obligated to do so since they purchased the dealership in 2009. Needless to say, we do not agree that they are not obligated to honor this written agreement and we will probably end up pursuing this matter in court if they continue to claim no responsibility.

Please see the following quote taken directly from the
Charlotte Auto Sales Provider Name Locked
's corporate web site on May 26, 2011: "
Charlotte Auto Sales Provider Name Locked
Imports has been acquired by the
Charlotte Auto Sales Provider Name Locked
Automotive Group of
Charlotte Auto Sales Provider Name Locked
, NC.
Charlotte Auto Sales Provider Name Locked
Imports has been renamed:
Charlotte Auto Sales Provider Name Locked
. The
Charlotte Auto Sales Provider Name Locked
tradition of excellent customer care in both sales and service is being built upon with the great
Charlotte Auto Sales Provider Name Locked
tradition. The Mercedes-Benz heritage of excellence in automotive engineering and performance is enhanced by the
Charlotte Auto Sales Provider Name Locked
tradition of providing the ultimate ownership experience." In this posting on their own corporate web site, the company (HMOC) itself states that it acquired
Charlotte Auto Sales Provider Name Locked
Imports, which directly contradicts the response they have provided to Angie's List. It seems that
Charlotte Auto Sales Provider Name Locked
is ready and willing to state that they acquired
Charlotte Auto Sales Provider Name Locked
Imports and that "The
Charlotte Auto Sales Provider Name Locked
tradition of excellent customer care in both sales and service is being built upon with the great
Charlotte Auto Sales Provider Name Locked
tradition" (again from their web site) when it suits them and to disclaim this fact when it does not suit them. I have a written commitment from
Charlotte Auto Sales Provider Name Locked
Imports, on
Charlotte Auto Sales Provider Name Locked
Imports letterhead and signed by their then General Manager, not a "handshake" or "verbal agreement". I am happy to provide a copy of this agreement to the Angie's List for your review and documentation. Also, it would seem that HMOC, would by their own logic and description, not honor any warranty or service work that was provided by
Charlotte Auto Sales Provider Name Locked
Imports or MB USA on new MB vehicles that were purchased from
Charlotte Auto Sales Provider Name Locked
Imports the month before they acquired
Charlotte Auto Sales Provider Name Locked
Imports. I doubt that this is in fact a business practice HMOC pursued following their purchase of
Charlotte Auto Sales Provider Name Locked
Imports. This appears to be a very clear case of HMOC speaking out of both sides of their mouths at the same time, and publicly stating one thing only to deny it privately when it requires them to do the right thing. Rather than rely on contorted, legalistic and misleading statements to back out of a written commitment they should not hesitate to honor, they should "conduct their business through core values of respect and dignity", as they claim to in their response. The "
Charlotte Auto Sales Provider Name Locked
legal business aspects" of their position regarding our situation appear to be anything but
Charlotte Auto Sales Provider Name Locked
, or perhaps even legal.
