Window Replacement reviews in Boston

The quote process was fast, and much less prolonged than NewPro or other more sales-y window contractors. The representative wasn't very knowledgeable about quality issues, like his sample window needed two hands to close (it popped up at the bottom when closed), and he couldn't say whether that was what the installed ones would be like, too....More /> The windows felt cheaper and bulkier than other vinyl windows, and cost about $350 a window, with about $50 extra for the grids. Ultimately went with Seaway windows which felt nicer and were only a little more expensive.

It went well. After our first phone call,
Boston Window Installers Provider Name Locked
responded quickly and came to give an estimate. He had his son come to double check the measurements. We were told that the door and windows would arrive and be installed in mid-May, and that happened on schedule. They were very professional. We had one minor issue which needed to be fixed after the installation, and It was done very quickly after we pointed it out. The crew cleaned up nicely when they left.
We had used this provider twice before, and have always been happy with their services.

Wereplaced the original windows in our place up north. It’s an old
farmhouse and our concern was the new windows would stick out but they
blend right in.
Boston Window Installers Provider Name Locked
did a great job of explaining the features of the windows and
with helping us select the right product. There were no
Boston Window Installers Provider Name Locked
costs or
"buy today" discounts or sales pressure. The price was what was
advertised ( about half the price I got from 2 other
companies.). I was initially skeptical of
Boston Window Installers Provider Name Locked
’s price after
getting an estimate from

, but after more research I found
Boston Window Installers Provider Name Locked
has a high price reputation. We liked their windows, but they
price them like a Rolls

wasn’t justified.

's price was what they said it would be.
The install team was exceptional. They arrived on time, completed the
job on time and left the house clean. You would never know they were
there. The windows look great. Great people and
a quality product at a fair price.

I was very satisfied with
Boston Window Installers Provider Name Locked
's service. A large bay window in the front of our house was leaking and a local contractor we had worked with in the past gave us a very high estimate to replace it. We decided to call
Boston Window Installers Provider Name Locked
to inquire about replacement and their quote was far more reasonable; we decided to go with them.
Rite came out and replaced the window and did an excellent job. Before we had encountered the leak, we had thought about replacing all of the older windows in the house. Once we saw
Boston Window Installers Provider Name Locked
's work on the bay, we decided it was time to replace all the windows in the main portion of our home and moved forward with the process....
The installers were great, professional, and friendly. We had no problems and the entire experience went extremely well from start to finish!

First, I called to get an estimate and I got one back immediately, and without having them tour my house. I had two other estimates from other window guys and they insisted on booking a time to come over and wouldn't leave!! They were here for 2 hours and when it was all over, the heavy-pressure sale approached was unleased upon me.
But with

, the whole process of upgrading some windows was pretty stress-free and quite '

' after all. Definitely give them a call to get a quick estimate at the very least.

is great. I had three very old windows replaced in the Back Bay of Boston. I had to jump through a lot of hoops with the City regarding historical guidelines and
Boston Window Installers Provider Name Locked
stuck with me. His guys were on time, polite, and couldn't be nicer. The New windows were painted before installation. Old security bars were removed and disposed of. The old rotted window frames were replaced. The new windows look great. I will be replacing an old door next. Definitely using

We opted to have our windows replaced (someone had removed the beautiful old wood windows and replaced them with horrid, cheap, aluminum windows). Millwork Custom had some experience working in this neighborhood and therefore understood the challenges. The windows took longer to install than promised and it was unclear if the guys installing the windows actually worked for Millwork Custom or not. There was some mention of the regular installer not being available.

In no particular order:

1) the windows don't fit well - if fact you can't shut two of them properly.

2) Weather stripping is missing in numerous places leading to drafts and excess noise.

3) Bare wood has been left exposed in many places, no primer, paint or anything.

4) Window sills were not primed before painting. Paint has totally disappeared from these window sills within 18 months of the windows being installed.

is impossible to get hold of. He rarely responds to emails or calls and it has now been over 18 months that we have been chasing him to take care of these issues.

6) in December 2012, the last time that
Boston Window Installers Provider Name Locked
showed any interest in trying to get these issues taken care of, we arranged a time for someone to come over and take care of everything. That person never showed up. Since that time, we have tried off and on to get
Boston Window Installers Provider Name Locked
to respond but with no luck.

We paid extra to have the windows made of FSC certified African mahogany.
Boston Window Installers Provider Name Locked
claimed he had the paperwork but we obviously never saw it.

could not have been more helpful. He gave us very good advice and ideas, was always punctual, very easy to deal with, very accommodating and we enjoyed working with him immensley.
Boston Window Installers Provider Name Locked
is a font of knoweldge, not just about carpentry and construction, but about all kinds of things.
I check his references before I hire him and they were stellar. I cannot recommend

The company did an alright job. They were sub-contracted through Home Depot. There was a scheduling snafu so they were late on the scheduled morning. I would highly recommend to be very familiar with details of how to install whichever windows you chose. I was watching the work (or trying to while taking care of our toddler) and noticed that they were not following the installation instructions from

windows and they were not pre-caulking one spot prior to placing the window in. When I pointed this out they were very consistent in making sure they did so afterwards (or so it appeared from the ones I saw). I was also a little disappointed in that per contract they were supposed to replace some trim on the exterior with azek and they replaced it with primed pine instead. Workmanship wise they appeared to be very thorough and the whole crew worked hard.

It was rather difficult scheduling the measuring and installation. This could probably be due to the fact that it was a small job, I live in downtown Boston and I don't often spend Saturday mornings at home. We finally found time when they could avoid traffic and measure the windows early in the morning. When scheduling installation, we picked an early Saturday morning in order to try to avoid rush hour traffic. (It turned out to be the morning of the Red

celebration parade!)
The windows look fine, but the trim around them looks cheap (plastic). Fortunately, the installer was smart enough to salvage the wood trim from two of the old windows. The installer was neat and very pleasant.
