If he says he can do a job, he is able to schedule a time in the future to do the job and I can trust him to be there when that time comes, and finish the job in the allotted time. initially promised to finish the work in 3 weeks. I planned my move for four weeks. The work actually took closer to 6 weeks. I don't mind how long the work took because there was so much work done and I was amazed at the quality of his craftsmanship, but promising a more do-able timeline at the beginning of the project would have cut down on any disappointment.

"Overall assessment is that Hill did an okay job. The planning and design stages of the job showed a level of care and diligence with which I was very pleased, particularly as we worked through the detailed specifics of exactly what I was looking for in the built-ins. And all of their people were extremely friendly and agreeable to work with throughout ...more the entire process. Their craftsmanship however simply was not as strong, which is noticeable both visually and functionally. Cabinet doors show some warping and uneven/unlevel installation. The adjustable shelves were cut a little smaller than they should have been (one by as much as 1/4"). One of the CD drawers regularly comes off of its tracks. Paint finish shows uneven application. Glass drawers took weeks longer than estimated and were ultimately fabricated incorrected for their hinges, as they do not open past about 80 degrees. And gaps have begun to appear in places between the ceiling & mouldings and wall & edging. In summary,

seemed pretty good when it came to design. Their marketing is also very strong, as I receive a regular stream of newsletters and e-mails from them. Ultimately however, I'd characterize the quality and timeliness of their finished product as average at best. Were I to use them again or to recommend them to someone else (which I still might do), it would probably be for a smaller, simpler job."

They quickly gutted the existing bathroom, leaving us without a shower for several weeks, but we still had use of the toilet. They lined the path to the bathroom with paper to help ...more minimize the dust and dirt of such a major renovation and kept major equipment and supplies contained on the back deck or in a small section of the kitchen, later removing all of it (including garbage) as part of the well-written contract. They worked with us, changing aspects we didn't like initially, always willing to work with us as our vision for the bathroom changed, even letting us pick out and buy some fixtures (our choice) ourselves. Overall, a very professional team and a job extremely well-done..."
