Ophthalmology reviews in Boston

Being that it is an ER room and my eye wasn't hanging out of it's socket, I didn't expect to get in to see a doc without a wait. And I didn't immediately, but that was the only drawback of my time at the

& Ear Infirmary. Even though I was very uncomfortable with having had a branch just

He is a retina specialist. He is very pleasant. It is not very easy to get injections in your eyes, but he makes you feel at ease. He is always booked up, which is good for him. The office environment is very nice. I would use this provider again.

Had a problem with one eye over several months. Received diagnosis of cataract in April. Called office and got an appointment the following week, appointment for surgery a few weeks later, and all went well.

I have used Dr.
Boston Ophthalmologists Provider Name Locked
for years. There is nothing that I dislike. He is available for emergencies. He is very kind and courteous. He is also very knowledgeable. The staff is very competent and courteous. The office is very clean and easily accessible. I wouldn't have stuck with him if I didn't like him as much as I do.

When I tried to explain my previous procedure, Dr.

indicated that she did not "know what I was talking about." I was explaining that my earlier procedure was supposed to have been reversible, a concept that should not have been too difficult to understand. Even though I am a layperson and perhaps did not use the proper terminology or description, I felt that she should have tried more to understand the information that I was trying to convey.

I had a problem with loss of vision in my left eye on the bottom of my peripheral vision and she was able to explain it to me, so that I could understand what is wrong because there are number of conditions that can cause this and it turns out I was born with the condition, its neuro optic nerve. Her availability is absolutely outstanding, performances in the weeks; she is a professor at

My mother would probably rate them higher than I would rate them. They have done studies in hereditary eye conditions in families. I had a hard time getting in there to get an appointment when I needed one last year. Sometimes, I really have to schedule ahead. It actually hasn’t helped me in treatment at all and I am going for just monitoring. I really didn’t have any issues with the billing and administration last year, but I had issues in 2009.

I have been seeing a doctor (now two) in this clinic for several years, both for routine eye checkups and in response to a particular medical incident. I have to say that both the staff and the doctors were uniformly friendly, courteous and efficient. This is a real accomplishment on the part of the staff who are always quite busy handling multiple demands simultaneously.

The two doctors I've seen both struck me as knowledgeable and thorough-going. They take the time to perform a thorough examination and explain what they're doing.

don't go here for a routine vision exam; that's not what they mainly do at this office -- their Mt. Auburn office is much better. I was given poor instructions. The need to check in on a different floor was burried on the appointment reminder. (My fault, but who reads that??) The waiting area was terrible – with signs directing visitors for specialty services, but no direction for general vision care. It was noisy and uncomfortable – it felt more like a waiting room in an old bus station. The desk staff was inattentive: I stood at the desk for over a minute while the

finished a personal phone call; conversations between desk staff were given higher priority than dealing with patients/customers. My eye exam took place in a room with a light behind me; the light created a glare in the lenses that I was supposed to evaluate. When I complained, the tech told me that she was not allowed to turn it off. Several times, when I was asked to compare lenses, they were both bad; yet the tech continued. As a result, I had no confidence in the resulting prescription. The visit with Dr.

felt completely perfunctory – as if he had more important things to get to. After the exam (with dilation), I was not cautioned to avoid bright light; I had to ask a tech for the “sunglasses” that I've been given at every other eye exam. It took her a couple of minutes to find them. After I left, I requested a free re-exam at a different location. The administrator was cooperative in investigating my complaints and told me some changes were to be made in response. She also offered me the free exam that I requested. By contrast to the above, my experience at their Mount Auburn Hospital site was perfectly satisfactory. The resulting prescription was quite different than the one I received originally.

Stejna and the staff at
Boston Ophthalmologists Provider Name Locked
are the best. As someone who has had very bad nearsightedness, I have wanted vision correction for years but could not because
Boston Ophthalmologists Provider Name Locked
is not available for my degree of myopia. So instead, I chose the Visian ICL. I had the Visian ICL implanted in my left eye. Due to unique issues I have (such as steroid drops raised my eye pressure), I haven't had the right eye done yet but have scheduled it for September 2011. Drs.
Boston Ophthalmologists Provider Name Locked
and Stejna followed up on my issue with great care and attentiveness. I have had numerous follow up visits so they could monitor me carefully. They took the extra precaution of not doing my right eye until they were 100% sure that the issue was resolved.
