They seemed to use excessive amounts of packing paper on unfragile items, while using less than adequate amounts on fragile items. Their price was about $5-700 less than their big competitor, which is why we used them, and I think we'd use them again."

"This move was a NIGHTMARE! I called 2 companies to compare services (one company I used before) but decided to go with because he was going to give me 3 guys for a "few" dollars less than DN Van Lines who offered 2 people. I thought 3 people would get the job done faster but the price was only a few dollars different. First ...more of all...the truck they brought was WAY TOO SMALL. They brought a RENTED 15' truck to move an entire house of funrinture and furnishings. They rented it from Budget and said it was budget's fault the truck was small. They reserved a 24' truck but it wasn't in when they went to get it. They don't own their own trucks! When they got there I said there is NO WAY my things are all going to fit. The driver responded "yeah, we were wondering that too". They said if it didn't fit they would take a 2nd trip. So much for saving time! I specifically asked for a morning appointment beacuse I had some place I needed to be at 5:00 (a business meeting). The move started at 8:45 and it was anticipated it would take 4 hours for the move. They did not finish until after 4:30. Needless to say, I missed my business appointment. After the movers left, I started moving things around and setting up and found many of my things damaged. I never had nice furniture before and just recently invested in some beautiful pieces which are now damaged. I'm so disappointed and upset. They did not wrap a hand crafted solid cherry desk top and it now has a deep scratch across the top. They broke the

that holds my dining room table leg in place (now it is very wobbly). They didn't wrap the wall pictures but stacked them on top of each other and some very expensive (and one antique) frames are now damaged. They broke a leg off another side table. My brand new cherry bedroom set (purchased at

- which was expensive) now has a gouge in one of the bed rails. They did not put the sectional couch back together. They left the gas grill in the yard and did not bring it up the 5 steps to the deck (which I cannot do myself). They left a Thule storgae box against the side of the house instead of putting it in the garage. Althought I did not see anyone smoking in my house, I did smell cigarette smoke in the finished lower level of the house in Hopkinton. The last time I moved I used DN Van Lines and they were SO good. They were professional. Nothing was damaged. They were polite, on time and did their work efficiently. I am SO sorry I did not use them for this move. If you are thinking of using movers I would highly recommend you ask if the company has their own trucks, are they insured, is their help sub-contracted or are they W2 employees (who care about their job and making sure things are done right), what are they going to do for you if there is damage? I thought I was saving money but in the end I lost money, time, a business meeting and now have damage to some very expensive furniture. "

They were scheduled to come at 9:00 am and called my cell about 8:50 am to let me know that they were stuck in traffic and expected to arrive at about 9:20 am, which they did. 2 men came in and asked to be shown what needed moving. They had the muscle and know how and team work to move everything."
