"Colm showed right up to provide an estimate, gave details on how to make the stairs fit the current building codes, noticed the basement wall needed fixing under the stairs, and ended up doing the work earlier than planned and was finished in one day. A pleasure to work with as he returns calls and actually seems to want some work!"

Boston Masonry Contractors Reviews

"Due to the historic nature of the building, extra permitting was required. didn't anticipate this (although they did insist on getting the permits), but were both patient and pro-active during the frustrating process of obtaining the "long form" permit.
The work was delayed several times due to bad weather, but once the work was started, it went fairly quickly. The work men were very careful to protect windows and other parts of the building during the work, and were very good about cleaning up.
was extremely professional. I can't recommend them enough."

"The contractor claimed for a month that he would start the job then claimed that it was neccessary for the property manager to apply for his building permits and pay for his bond required in the city of Boston. However, only the contractor can put up his own bond. The contractor has refused to return the $9,000 deposit although no work has been done other than setting up ladders. I would not use this contractor under any circumstances. He is not interested in performing his work but only in getting his deposit. In 20 years of using contractors we have never has this experience before as all the other contractors were sincerely interested in completing their work and in their reputation. "

"It was a little difficult to schedule work to be done in the winter but on the first warm day in January they completed this work and it looked great."

" returned my call right away and came out in 2 days. He seems like a really nice guy. The price he gave me was reasonable but in the end we went with someone else that would do a little bit more work for the same price. "

" came and looked at my house that was done incorrectly. He told me how he could fix it. He gave me a price and applied the brick according to the specks from the architect. We paid exactly what he quoted, it was done in the time fame he said, and showed up every day on time. We paid 20% of the cost every time a side of the house was completed. He was very good- he did what he was suppose to do, what we paid for the first time! He left the job sight clean every day. This job was very difficult because of the closeness of the houses (they are 10 feet apart). He had to bring more supplies every day, because there was no space to store extra. He never charged extra for fuel or trucking- he held to his price, and never once asked for more. I can't say enough good things about him, and I would recommend him to anyone!"

"The quality of the output was outstanding, as was the experience of interacting w/ and their responsiveness. On a few occasions, we expressed concern (on a Saturday) about planking that was above the sidewalk. On both occasions, they were there in hours to secure it or to take it down. The job took a little longer then we would have liked, meaning the scaffolding was up for 5 weeks when the actual work took only 3 days. My understanding was that a permit had lapsed. It's not clear if this was the responsibility of or the general contractor we initially retained. All that being said, the value of the output was outstanding (as compared with the GC who hired , whose quality was much poorer). It was great reviewing the work and seeing he had done a high quality job the first time, instead of us having to play quality control (which we have had to do with other contractors) and getting in very contentious screaming matches. It was a pleasure work with ."

"We set up a meeting with to review the project and get an estimate. He showed up promptly and called back with an estimate within a day or two. His crew started almost immediately and was finished with the entire job in about five working days (calendar days were about a week and a half due to rain). They worked hard and made amazing progress every day that they came. We especially like that promised us that his entire crew (of about four) would be dedicated to the job until it was complete. The job was professionally done within the time estimate that they gave. Our only concern was that the rain settled the soil in the planters which caused us to buy additional soil that probably should have been included in the contract price. Even so, we highly recommend and will probably use his company again in the near future."

"The job was overall a very good experience. and his men did far more work, than was spelled out in the original estimate and still honored the initial price. The patio was done with a lot of attention to detail. They hand cut every piece of flagstone, that was used and installed a drywell that was NOT in the original proposal at no cost. When the job was completed, there was still water pooling at the base of the building, which is exactly the issue, that we had hired to rectify. We alerted to the problem and he had his men fix the issue, within a few days. The work that was done inside, was not done with the same attention to detail. The paint used on the wall and the molding was not very close to matching and we do have to repaint one of the bedroom walls and the molding, to match the rest of the room, but we were more concerned with the outside job and did offer to come back and paint the wall for us. Overall, we were very happy."
