arrived promptly at 9am and did a 3 1/2 hour home inspection of a 2,000 sq. ft. house. That evening,
delivered a 90-page report with 100 (!) photos outlining issues with the house....more /> Walking around with
during the home inspection was a huge learning experience. He clearly explained what he saw and why it mattered. The photos that he took are enormously helpful. A photo speaks a thousand words, and the 100 photos he included in his report are an incredible reference for me. I am able to see, in an organized manner, all the problems that exist and then properly prioritize them.
The home inspection was very thorough. He discovered undisclosed termite damage, gas leaks, faulty wiring and many other issues. The price of $725 was higher than other home inspectors, but the quality of
's work merits it. I found his work to be an excellent value.

completed two home inspections for us. He was on time and always courteous. He was very helpful in explaining to us about the houses and the observations he had. He seemed very thorough and provided us with detailed report. It was also easy to schedule appointment with him. The first home inspection showed up a lot of problems on the house and we ended up did not purchase the house based on his findings. We'd definitely recommend him to others.

arrived before we had even made it to the Condo, and began to get to know the property manager, as well as the exterior of the building while he was waiting for us. When we got there, he brought us up to speed on what he had seen and what he had checked already. Next, we moved into the building, where he inspected the steps leading up to the apartment, as well as the elevator. He also checked the roof, and explained that the roof on the building was actually the best roof available for a large building. He explained why it was good, and told us his observations about the roof itself. Next we returned to the condo. Once inside, he immediately raised the thermostats on all of the heaters, something that wouldn't have crossed my mind on a hot May day. He then used an infrared thermometer (one of the nifty laser ones) to see how quickly the individual heater heated up. He then went to the circuit boxes, and pointed out that one of them was missing a door that would need to be replaced to limit the risk of electrical fires. He then went to the balcony, where he checked the state and remaining life of the sliding glass doors, as well as the storm doors. He also fixed one of the doors that was screwed closed. He pointed out that the current balcony railings weren't up to code, but that because they were existing structures that was not a problem, unless we had kids (we don't). He also pointed out some areas that would require heavy cleaning to remove built up algae. We then returned to the condo and entered the kitchen. He turned the faucet up to it's hottest setting and let it run for a few minutes, and then again took a temperature reading to see how hot the water was. He also ran the disposal for 45-60 seconds, to ensure that it was fully functional. He took the time to measure the temperature of all the burners and actually determined that one of the electric

burners didn't work. After a thorough check of the kitchen, we ventured into the bathroom, where

pointed out some tiles that needs to be replaced, and showed us that most of the tilework would probably need to be re-grouted in the next few years, but that with proper upkeep it would last for quite some time. He pointed out that the stopper in the bath tub was nonfunctional, and that the toilet moved slightly from side to side. He also showed us that the vanity needed to be replaced, as the covering were peeling off at the edges. Finally he determined that the fan in the bathroom was not functional, but couldn't pinpoint a cause. Onward to the second bedroom, he pointed out the quality of the windows, and the intact thermal seal on the window glass. He checked the heaters in this room as well, but found it to be in good condition overall. Then into the master bedroom, where he pointed out that they were using plywood to extend some of the shelving, but that it had begun to bow. He tested the heaters in this room as well, and found them to be nonfunctional. Finally, he checked the in wall air conditioner and told us that, despite it's age, it was in great condition and was working quite well. Throughout all of the inspection, he was pointing out areas where cords were too close to heaters, where electrical outlets needed to be updated to GFCI outlets, and any other details that were even remotely relevant. Then we moved outside the building where he inspected the perimeter as well as the waterline. After the inspection, he sent us a full report, viewable online, with many of the dozens of pictures that he took throughout the process, with important parts highlighted and information what what needed to be repaired, replaced, or removed. Overall, it was a great experience, and proved to be a fountain of useful information.

Unlike some other bigger companies that sometimes outsource,
Boston Home Inspectors Provider Name Locked
has performed the inspection himself. He was very responsive. I spent about 30 minutes on the phone with him prior to inspection outlining my key concerns and about another 30 minutes as a follow up (as I wasn't present at the actual inspection - a member of my family and my broker were).

has spent over two hours at the property (it was only a small two bedroom villa) and I really felt that he was on my side rather than just a signature for the bank to get a loan. I was buying a property as a foreclosure "as is" so it was very important for me to get true assessment of any issues that I would be faced with. He answered my questions re all of the important issues and helped me understand how much it will cost me if I needed to fixed them. He e-mailed to me his very detailed full report with pictures (40 pages+) the same day (4pm after an inspection that started at 9:30am).

was referred to me by several coworkers, who could not stop praising his completeness, professionalism and his helpfullness throughout their home-buying process (and afterwards, as they encountered some problems during remodelling). He actually exceeded my expectations!! He was a pleasure to work with, and his inspection report could not have been better written and organized! I will definitely use him again, and I highly recommend him to anyone who needs a home inspected.

Inspected 3 condos in one building. We were having roofing work done and wanted verification that the work actually needed to be done. He was our unbiased party and helped us with that work.

He was just plain excellent: professional, knowledgeable, punctual and VERY thorough. Realtors must hate him. He started by sending the seller a questionnaire/disclosure form as soon as the appointment was scheduled. He showed up with a camera, computer, photo printer and went through everything in excruciating detail. He pointed out all sorts of stuff that would need maintenance (need-to-have and nice-to-have). He then helped us understand what needed to be worried about now vs. down the road. He finished by printing out and annotating photos, put them in a nice binder and included a burned DVD with the same - all right on the spot. He's going to follow up with a written report. It took 4 hours, was well worth the time. I hope this guy doesn't ever inspect I home I want to sell, just one I want to buy :)

I was contacted immediately after requesting a home inspecition by
Boston Home Inspectors Provider Name Locked
to schedule an appointment that was convenient for my schedule. That appointment was confirmed again the day before it was scheduled. When I arrived at the inspection, I was greeted by
Boston Home Inspectors Provider Name Locked
who sat down with me and explained the overall process of the inspection, how he would summarize the inspection and provide a report. He answered all of my questions very patiently. I watched him doing some of his inspection and he used a camera and computer to carefully document all of his findings. He spent over 5 hours performing the work and I could tell that he was being very thorough. And, believe it ot not - I received his very detailed report by the end of the day! The report was written in a way that made it very easy to see what he had inspected, and then there was a specific summary of what were considered "defects" and "marginal" items. It made it very easy for us to go back to the sellers with our expectations of repairs that would need to be made prior to closing on the home.
