"We scheduled an appointment. I then paid someone to wait for 5 hours (they gave a 4 hour time window). They never showed up and they will not return my calls. I" have called 4 times since. I am totally dissatisfied with the unprofessional manner of this company.

-Lisa P.

"They missed the multiple appointments we set. I had taken off of work to be home for these appointments and have now wasted my time to not have the work I wanted" completed. They initially reached out to me right away after the purchase but since then I always had to reach out to them. They never called me when they missed the appointments or to reschedule I had to contact them.

When hanging holiday lights, the safest power source is the nearest outlet. If that’s not possible, look for an appropriate extension cord or a power stake.

Here is a tip sheet from Angie's List, previously published:

If a tilt-up door, probably about $150-200.

If a roll-up door, assuming you have not put in cabinets or anything that prohibits sliding the shaft sideways about 2-3 feet out of the spring to change it, then about $200-250 should do it for a 2-car garage door. If he has to disassemble the brackets to remove the springs because the shaft cannot slide sideways enough to get the springs on/off, then probably another $50-100.

If you have an automatic garage door opener, usually they will charge you $50 or less for tension adjustment, lube, and motor cleaning if scheduled on the same visit, about half a normal call cost.

One thing to consider - assuming you have 2 springs and an opener, unless the other spring is quite new, you should replace it at the same time, first because it will probably break fairly soon anyway and changing two is only about $50 more than changing one, and because the springs on both sides should be of equal stiffness - if not, then the door will be unevenly weight compensated and try to open cockeyed, increasing wear and risk of damaging the motor.

I think he is trying to upsell you on something you don't need, or their company policy is neer fix, always replace - some companies are in that mode not, to prevent future call-backs when it does not work.

IF only needs screws, sounds like a good do it yourself job with self-tapping sheet metal screws. Or a Handyman could do for maybe $50-70 if that is all that is needed.

If the weatherstrip is damaged and in on the front edge of the garage door, one other possibility - replace with one like this, or screw a bottom compression type rubber weatherstrip on the bottom of the door - actually work a lot better than the face-mounted ones anyway, in my opinion. Look like this from M-D Building Products and Frost King among others. Can also be used nailed to frame to flap contacts door face as an edge and top weatherstrip -

Maintanence is going to vary by how much you use the door.  If it is used multiple times a day as cars go in and out I recommend having it checked annually.  You want someone to lube all of the proper points and inspect the rollers for wear or damage.  You don't want a component of that door failing and falling on yourself or a child.  Sometimes tracks need to be adjusted or realigned for various reasons.  Also, the springs can weaken and break causing the door to fall.  Have those checked as well.

Garage Door Installation And Repair reviews in Boston

I paid for a coupon for work to be done. I never heard from the provider. Will I be charged? I've already solved the problem I called them about.
- Gordon S.

They did a great job. They were punctual, neat, took away the old door and were very nice. I love the door it is so quiet I can hardly hear it open and shut. The product was of good quality, overall I am very happy with their service and would use them again.
- Roberta A.

Service was delivered on-time and in a highly professional, friendly and informative manner. The cost was a little high, or so it seemed to me, but I have little to base it on given that my knowledge of garage door services is limited. In any case,

PJ &

called before arrival as promised and showed up 20 minutes later. My garage door had been very jumpy recently and in general was in desperate need of maintaince thanks to a downstairs neighbor that uses it like a front door (garage doors are for CARS not PEOPLE). I've never needed maintenance on a garage door before so wasn't sure what to expect but PJ quickly deduced it was in need of lubrication, alignment, the sensors were off and the button on the wall was broken. in maybe ~30 minutes i came back downstairs and the door literally was operating like brand new!! it ran SILENTLY which was amazing considering how painful it sounded every time it opened/closed before. And it no longer jumps back open every time i try to close it.
Well worth the cost!
Also i can tell PJ is very thorough because when i did come back down and he was demonstrating it was fixed, the sensors got a little fubar again and he spent another 5-10 minutes readjusting to ensure things were just right. He even said 'i don't want to leave it if it's not perfect' or something along those lines.
Paid with a credit card that was swiped from his iphone right at point of transaction and i was all set. very easy to do business with and would highly reccomend his service!

Our garage door has been squealing and shaking every time we open and close it, to the point that we have been worrying about its safety. We purchased a tune-up coupon from

Doors for $79 and set up the appointment by phone.

arrived right on time, quickly assessed our problem, and fixed it completely. He replaced our old rollers and adjusted the track, lubed everything, and even changed the burned out bulbs that we haven't gotten around to dealing with for the past year or so. He also showed us how to properly maintain our garage door and explained some features with the keypad that we'd never been aware of before. He generally went out of his way to be helpful and leave us happy. I would highly recommend his services.
- Megan J.

They came on time. Spent a good deal of time on the project. Provided an estimate of further work but did not make a hard sell.
- Nan S.

The person estimating cost of installation and components to be provided, and work to be performed was very professional, knowledgeable, personable and punctual. The contract was complete and clear as to what was expected during the installation. The installer was also very professional, on-time, and complete in his performance. The complete process, from estimate to completion, was a very good experience.

I called at 9:15 am and the technician was at my door at 2 pm the same day. He was efficient and helpful in explaining everything I asked about. I haven't seen efficiency like this in years and would certainly recommend

without reservation.
