Flooring reviews in Boston

I had a kitchen glass tile back splash installed in South Boston by JJ.
Boston Flooring Installers Provider Name Locked
was great and did a perfect job installing the back splash. He showed up at 7am was very professional, kind, and cleaned up after the job. I would recommend them to others. Very reliable.

The guys were incredibly prompt and efficient in doing the work. They arrived on time every single day, and worked long hours each day until the work was completed.
We could not be happier with the quality of the work and the excellent price to have all this work done.
We are so impressed, that we are actually using this company for other jobs around the house, including painting a ceiling that is in a state of disrepair (an on-going project).

Home decor is not my "thing," and I have difficulty with colors, visually speaking. At
Boston Flooring Installers Provider Name Locked
I receive all the help I need to overcome those handicaps, going back to 1995+/-, when I had my kitchen floor replaced.
Boston Flooring Installers Provider Name Locked
, the proprietor, has always been extremely friendly, patient and helpful with me in choosing all of my flooring needs and in helping me get through the decision-making process. Eastern's prices were, and are, very reasonable, the work is always top-notch, the technicians are always friendly, and
Boston Flooring Installers Provider Name Locked
stands behind his products and workmanship. Given the positive experience I had with the kitchen floor replacement, it was a no-brainer to go back to Eastern when I needed new carpeting. When you have a business like

in the neighborhood, I can't imagine why anyone would reach out to any of those companies you so frequently see advertising on TV.

These guys were fantastic. I have to say that overall, they made us feel like they were working on their own house. They took so much care in all aspects of the project and were extremely precise with their workmanship. They were very prompt when I initially contacted them for the estimate. They came in and gave me a very honest assessment of the work, including providing general tips and suggestions that were even out of the scope of the project. The quotation was very detailed and impressive, and the pricing was honest and spot on.

mentioned initially that he prides the work on the old school way of doing things, and that is very, very true. They were extremely flexible when we changed a few things during the project, and

worked tirelessly to insure that it was completed on time. We did quite a bit of marble floor tiling and ceramic tile work - when people see the finished product they always comment on how meticulous the workmanship was. You could not see a hint of a seam in any of the drywall work either - they are very good. Each day when they left, you could not even tell that they had been there, the outside areas were so clean. I could not recommend these guys more. They are very much part of a tradition where honesty and workmanship are valued above money.

It went terribly. After blowing the original requested schedule because he didn't reply to requests for additional specificity in a timely fashion, we signed a contract for a later date and gave him a $10,000 deposit. We subsequently learned that despite his having assured us that he was experienced with working in high-rise buildings in Boston, he was woefully unprepared to provide the standard documentation required by the condo association covenants. He provided some of the documents, but kept giving us excuses for failing to deliver one that required a state permit (I don't know which). He kept complaining about the slowness of the state...this dragged on for a couple of months.
During this period, he became increasingly unresponsive. When we were able to finally get a response, he was always very courteous and portrayed himself as beleaguered. After much frustration in attempting to communicate with him and several "check-in" deadlines which he ignored (I had asked for status reports on a regular basis so that we could get a sense of the timing. This was particularly important as the work required that we spend several nights elsewhere, and we were trying to manage that process), we decided that we had had enough and told him that since he hadn't honored the contract (which called for a specific start date, long since past) we wanted our deposit back.

played the victim, claiming that he had bought "custom materials" for our job. I never believed this - the materials weren't especially special - but acceded to his request that we give him several weeks to come up with the money. This time came and went, and after another bout of difficulty in getting in touch with him, he offered to pay $5,000 (1/2 of the sum) immediately and the rest "when he could." He sent the first check some time late (It was at least 3 weeks, as the payment was due on the first of April and I left the country in the middle of the month...the check arrived while I was gone). That check was good, but then...more silence.
He eventually promised to drop a check for the remaining amount off at our house by June 1. He did make a dropoff, but it was two checks - one dated June 9 and the other dated June 16. We deposited the first check on June 9, but today (June 12) my wife received a call from him in which he said that that check had bounced. Obviously, we have no reason to believe that the 2nd one will be negotiable. I am today filing a claim in Small Claims court to chase him for the money. I am also going to look into criminal the best of my knowledge passing bad checks is still a crime in Massachusetts.
I would NEVER recommend this guy...he comes across as well-meaning in conversation, and talks a good game with regard to materials, etc. But none of his assurances come to path. He's irresponsible at best, but he also seems to be somewhat sociopathic...he has demonstrated absolutely no ability to keep his word, and has consistently ducked the situation and left us feeling anxious and disregarded.

D*** was very responsive, calling me back right away and coming to give an estimate very quickly. He took the time to explain the options and details and answered all of my questions. Scheduling was easy and they were able to do the job shortly after I called. D*** was easily reachable and always called me back immediately if he missed my call. When I had to reschedule the job, they accommodated the change and were able to come back soon after. The price was very reasonable compared to other estimates I received. The craftsmanship on the floor was excellent. They did a great job matching the wood to the existing hardwood floor, and dealing with a very uneven subfloor. The finished product is solid and looks beautiful. You can't tell where the old floor ends and the new one begins. I would highly recommend L & S to anyone looking for great customer service and reasonably priced and well crafted hardwood floors.

and his team are very easy to work with, punctual, and highly skilled tilesetters. Our bathroom was quite complicated as we went to the ceiling with large format ceramic tile. Our floors were not level and the walls weren't flat. But everything turned our perfect. We met every day over 4-5 days to review progress and issues. On budget, on time, and did the job right.

flooring carpeted our staircase. They did a wonderful job, from helping us select a carpet, educating us on carpet, working with in our budget, to the final instal they were wonderful. They provided us with multiple quotes based on different carpet styles. Their installers came in and worked 8hrs straight on a Friday. Everything was done tightly and looked great they also removed our old carpet and cleaned up after them selves. Definitely would recommend them.

These guys did it again! They're reliable, professional, punctual, considerate that I'm living in the space they're working on, and I trust them completely. My house is old and
Boston Flooring Installers Provider Name Locked
always tells me the most economical and practical way to do whatever I need done. He also has a terrific eye for what's possible, and I feel comfortable deferring to him on any decision that has to be made (e.g. he took down a dropped ceiling and found a cupola, that he fixed and it looks like a million dollars). He and his guys do beautiful work, clean up every night, and don't stop until the punch list is complete. Having been married to a contractor I have a pretty good idea of what a job should look like and these guys surpass any work I've ever seen. And
