What I liked most about him is that he knew what he was doing and he always had an opinion-- he has tremendous experience, has designed many kitchen and baths, and that was important to me. I came to rely heavily on his opinion. Sometime we would disagree, but that was OK-- it was important step to getting to the end. A great service is that he creates colored picture images of his designs, which really helped me visualize the color and placement of things much more so than the black and white print outs that I got from some other kitchen places. I must say my kitchen ended up looking pretty much like the pictures, so there were no surprises. I love how everything came together.

always stayed with me and worked with me until I got to where I needed-- I never felt pressure to make a decision. He was incredibly patient-- I thought I would drive him crazy at times, but never did. I ended up with beautiful results. Even now that the project is done, I still am emailing him for his advice on other kitchen related things. If you value service and guidance and quality, I would strongly recommend PKB. "The framing/plastering was great. The painting was awful. Company reps were unreliable and lied to me. I was told the foreman ran off to with my house keys within two days of starting. The painter had no experience. I was told that the painter had been fired; 5 mins after being told this, he showed up at my door (i.e., he hadn't ...more been fired). Job estimated at 2 wks; took 5 wks. Even after repeated requests, little effort made to protect other surfaces from paint splatters. Paint got on my bedding, on handles and hinges, on new hardwood floors, on brick, on skylights. They mistakenly disconnected an electrical circuit, leaving me in the dark for a night & causing the central AC system to leak gallons of water (its pump was on the circuit in question) into my downstairs neighbors' condo. The main company representative never showed up after the first day. The foreman rarely showed up and then complained that I only called him when I had complaints. Workers drank on the job."
