"He is very thorough, he is excellent and he takes down everything. I had a nodule on my adrenal gland that my pulmonologist found out because he knew how to read a routine CD and I" told my primary doctor. Then I looked for this endocrinologist and I went to him and he does his tests because that is his specialty and I feel so much better. He got me off all the wrong drugs and I feel as good as have I ever felt. He does not leave anything out he is very thorough, he has a great staff. I think when you look for somebody his staff has to be good.

"New insurance required me to find a new provider for my Endocrinology needs, Type II diabetes. Dr.
recieved some of the best reviews I could find, so I scheduled" a new patient appointment. Because she's so busy, I waited 60 days before I could schedule and appointment. On the day of the appointment, it was cancelled because of weather. My appointment was rescheduled two days later. I arrived at the time discussed and was told is was 15 minutes late because the medical assistant gave me the incorrect appointment time. To the staffs credit, they did manage to get me into see Dr.
30 minutes later. Once I met Dr.
, I was very impressed. Her bedside manner is very, very good. She listens, types patient notes as you talk and maintains eye contact. Amazing. We discussed various methods of treatment and my preferences. She asked a number of questions about my condition that my previous provider never asked. She responded with her analysis of my blood test the next day and suggested a couple of new medications to more aggressively treat my diabetes and lower my A1C. I will be returning to see her, and I have suggested that my wife see her also for her thyroid condition. Overall, she's impressive and appears to be a very good doctor with a commitment to help her patients get better based on conditional assessments and how they respond to her course of treatment. She's not afraid to alter the treatment plan if the results are not as predicted. I rate her a "A", but the overall experience, including dealing with her staff, was a "B".

"Dr.
was rather combative with me during my first visit. She prescribed Metformin for me, since I measured pre-diabetic. She also prescribed a battery of tests" which took 7 vials to collect. In the end, she didn't diagnose me any differently than Dr.
so I returned to him. I realize that the Atlanta Magazine lists her among the top endocrinologists but she certainly was abrasive with me. I left feeling she was interested in getting a lot of tests run on a lab rat (me).

Dr.
Birmingham Diabetic Doctors Provider Name Locked
has been treating me for 5 years and my thyroid condition seems to be under control. It took a couple of years for him to find the right dosage for me. Main thing that I think helped is the exercise and diet I'm on which is not his program. The weight comes off slowly but that keeps me on the regimen. Only thing that would want others to know is that he is not an aggressive endocrinologist pushing lots of tests and different medications. He checks my thyroid but I have to ask that my blood tests also check my A1C. I often wonder if his academic background limits his treatment of me but I don't think he sees me as a clinical study patient. At one time I got a second opinion from Dr.

I can't say enough good things about Dr.
Birmingham Diabetic Doctors Provider Name Locked
. His level of care and expertise I have never experienced with other providers. My wife and son are patients as well. I think of him as a friend of our family and I'm sure all his patients do as well. I'm happy to grow old and go through life with him at my side.

I’m a retired nurse and a lot of the nurses that I worked with, also go to her. I can always call and get her appointment but sometimes my appointments are longer than what I would like as she is a very very busy doctor. I rate her highly and I would use her again in the future.
