"The staff is friendly, knowledgable, polite, professional and made me comfortable from the moment I walked in the door. They were all extremely loving and caring" with my kittens. The was gentle, obviously highly skilled, informative and kind. He made sure i knew exactly what was being done and what to expect. He patiently and thoroughly answered all of my questions. The entire Village staff made me feel very welcome and went above and beyond to keep me updated on the kittens' progress, etc. In addition to calling to give me a status update a couple times throughout the day, just as a courtesy, they even emailed me photos of my kittens snuggled up together after their surgeries were complete so I knew they were happy and sleepy. I was sent home with a very useful aftercare sheet as well as other information that Village thought I would find useful. Two dasy after my kittens came home, Village called me to ask how they were doing and to see if I had any questions. I cannot speak highly enough of Village . The prices are extremely reasonable, the office is super clean and nice and everyone who works there. I highly recommend using this . I will never go anywhere else.

"They are a little costly but they are pretty good. It seems like they are all female vets. I see men walking around but it was all women treating him. They are very" concerned and professional in their approach to animal care, and they are responsive. If I have a problem that's serious, they will squeeze me in and get me in as soon as possible. To me, they are very loving veterinarians. They are very careful and affectionate with the dog. He likes going there even though he is in pain usually. They are a good all around place.

Angie's Answers

?

Hi

The first answer is pretty thorough but I would like to add a few points.

First.. the type of food you are feeding your dog may be the key.  If you are using a food that is grain, rice or corn based in the first three ingredients, please change to a food that is meat or chicken based.  Many dogs are allergic to grain, rice, wheat and corn and these things are used as primary ingredients in many well known, name brand dog foods.  Secondly, all treats that have these ingredients should be cut out.  It takes weeks to months before a food change can show results so you must be patient.  Jumping from one food to another will be counter-productive.

Some dogs are so allergic to flea or other insect bites that one or two bites can cause a severe reaction.  Once the itching/scratching cycle begins, it is hard to stop it.  Benadryl is good but I suggest liquid form.  You can get it inexpensively at one of the dollar stores.  The pills take time to break down in the digestive system so you get better and faster results with the liquid. One tsp= 5cc and most dogs of average size can tolerate that much and more if the dog is a larger breed.

Allergy testing is very expensive and most dogs will test positive to some things.  That does not mean that the itching is coming from those things as many things in the environment can trigger positive test results.  Breaking the cycle of itching is primary and that can be done with prednisone ( short term and last resort after benadryl and bathing), allergy shots( same deal, last resort after easier methods).   This spring and summer have been particularly hard, weather-wise.

Good luck!

After you search for the company, you should get the "no results" page. Scroll down just a little bit, and you'll see a button and a link that say "Add this provider." Click on that to add them to the List! Thanks for the great question.
?
I'm really sorry! It looks like we made some site changes I hadn't noticed before and it made things just a little more confusing (for me, too!). We'll have to look into this to make it easier.
In the meantime, here's what you do:
1) Look for the Submit a Report button. It's yellow and on the right-hand side of the page.
2) Search for the animal cancer care clinic you're looking for. The search box should be inside a yellow bar.
3) You should see a list of potential matches, but on top of those, there should be "add a provider to the List" text in blue, which is where you'll click to get to the add page.

Let me know if you have any trouble. Sorry, again, for this being so confusing.

Dr. seems to be a good vet. His office staff however is horrible. treated us with rudeness and disrespect. Evidently showing up on time is not good enough to be seen in order of appointment times ( actually told me this!). Because of his rudeness and disrespect we are forced ...More to find another vet. Seeing Dr. is not worth having to deal his office staff. We will never return and would not recommend this vet's office to anyone.

I've seen Dr. twice since getting a new puppy in December. A neighbor recommended him. The staff is very nice and friendly with our puppy. She has gotten shots twice and a physical once. Dr. has been very helpful, giving advice on raising the puppy, in addition to veterinary care. My complaints are ...More regarding their pricing. Without experience with another vet, I still think their prices seem high, and the front office staff always seems to be "upselling" me services (and I'm not sure how necessary they are). When I called to get an estimate two weeks ago to have her spayed, it was going to cost over $400. I am having it done at Falls Road Animal Hospital, who is only charging $119.

The 9 year old lab I adopted, , had REALLY GUNKY ears, which she had probably suffered with most of her life. The previous vet had merely treated the symptoms--ear cleaners, endless antibiotics--but these were temporary fixes. After receiving advice from the rescue group, I wanted to be tested for all ...More types of allergies. Dr. Amstalden sent 's blood to a lab that specialized in identifying allergens. After receiving the results, she consulted specialists to identify the correct topical antibiotic for the infection. Results: was allergic not only to the yeast in her ears, but Chicken, Eggs, Corn, Fish, and several common weeds. Treatment included antibiotics targeted at the specific bacteria, anti-fungal meds, allergy meds, and a change in food. Within 3 months, 's ears were clean--nothing short of a miracle. Price: Diagnosing allergies is part art, part science. It's really tricky. But Dr. Amstalden succeed where others had not. Nothing about the process was "cheap"--the antibiotics especially. But, Dr Amstalden did not recommend unnecessary tests. She frankly discussed the costs & benefits of treatment options. And, when I decided against certain treatments, she accepted my decision, understanding funds were not unlimited. Result: Dr. Amstalden is now vet for all my fur kids.

Dr. made this very very difficult time much easier. I had to say good bye to my 14.5 year old chocolate lab. It was a difficult decision, and the last thing I wanted was to have to take my girl to the vet’s office – it was always stressful for her and I didn’t want to walk out with her leash and collar. ...More
I began calling my vet and specialist when I knew it was time - I had a few other recommendations, and one for Dr. and after seeing the Peaceful Passage website – I made “the call”.
Dr. was very understanding as I broke down when she said hello – she was patient and kind, explained what would happen in great detail and was very accommodating with deciding on a day.
When ‘the day’ arrived I had planned time to say good bye – it wasn't enough as I am sure it could never be…Dr. called when she was about 20 mins out, which again gave me some preparation time. When she arrived she was very very professional, took time again to explain again what would happen. She was in and out within 15-20 minutes - I wasn't prepared for how quick it would be - but I don't think you could ever be. The efficiency and going through the motions helped get through the process because if we would have taken time to talk about how wonderful my girl was - I would have never been able to let it happen. Following this the crematorium shipped back my girl in a very nice urn with her paw print as was planned.
It is a horrible decision to have to make, and I would never want anyone to have to make this decision. However, I know that you’ll be in good hands with Dr. , she is professional, competent and understanding of what we ‘parents’ are going through.
