Tree Service Reviews in Baltimore

We live in Baltimore City in a very tight rowhouse situation. There is a steep hillside on one side of us and an
behind that curves sharply and then narrows to the point that the garbage trucks cannot come through. Sadly, our largest and most lovely elm tree died - its limbs were about 50 feet long and 6-8" in diameter and I estimate the height of the tree at 125 feet. Some of the huge limbs were already breaking off. The only access was through the
, where there are lots of power lines, neighbors porches, and other impediments.

We have had one other large tree removed and I first called that company. They were clearly not interested in doing this more difficult job nor in doing it the way that we wanted.

came out personally to assess the situation, he, listened carefully to what I wanted (and made good suggestions when needed). We agreed to leave a certain amount of the
as bird sanctuary and to pile a couple of large sections of the
against the hill as erosion control. He was to cut and stack 16" pieces of firewood where the limbs were useful and chip what could not be used. He covered our fishpond to keep out the inevitable sawdust. He promptly sent me the requested certificate of insurance. A crew of eight arrived promptly on a Tuesday (avoiding recycle day and trash day) and he placed his 'smallest crane' (100 foot extension) at the bend in the
. His 'smallest' chipper could take wood up to 16" in diameter and was placed farther down. I felt like I was watching the Cirque
Soleil when his men climbed the tree. The crane operator was absolutely amazing, maneuvering through tiny little spaces with pinpoint precision. Most of the longer taller limbs they took down by attaching a sling, then tensioning the line and having one of the climbers cut it with a chain saw. The limbs were lifted out, avoiding telephone lines and fences, and laid into the
to be cut into firewood and chipped. The entire crew worked steadily and clearly kept an eye out for other. Nobody made a move until they were sure that every other member of the crew was safe. Every critical cut was confirmed with me first, and I can report that the many birds are happy with their new homes. There was not a single 'oops', nobody was injured, nothing was broken. It was five hours of sheer professionalism and a joy (and a thrill) to watch. The firewood was stacked very neatly

They do offer an Angie's special - a full crew for an 8 hour day for less than $2K and I suspect that this would be a great value for someone in a suburban or less difficultly placed house.
would have honored that but said that it was not a good deal for me. After seeing what they did and the amount of heavy specialized equipment that they used I must agree. It was a real joy to watch a coordinated crew work with such good cheer, carefulness, and professional experience. It could easily have been a two or three day job if they weren't so good and didn't have such good equipment. I can recommend them in the highest possible manner and want to take this public opportunity to thank
, his younger brother and the rest of his crew for turning a nightmare into a fully wonderful experience.

I got quotes from several companies to do the above work. There were power lines running through the trees and some of the companies suggested having the power turned off for the day, which would have been a headache for the next-door neighbors. Another company stated that we'd need to have the neighbor remove part of their fence to get the job done.
's employee assured me that this would not be needed. I was a little nervous but after reading all the positive reviews on here and visiting the BBB website, I figured they knew what they were doing.
While I took the time to get other quotes, this company called me several times. This was a little annoying but they did demonstrate their commitment to getting our business and offering the best price.
I hired
and set up the appointment for two days later; they were very flexible in being available on a rare day off for me.
A crew of 6 or 7 arrived. They were earlier than expected but I can't complain about that. I re-checked the work that I had requested. They got to work right away and worked quickly but safely. The key was that they have a CRANE. The crane made it easy to get large pieces of the trees down my long driveway and out into the street where they had a chipper waiting for each piece. A huge amount of work was done in 2.5 hours. They could have left after that but stayed to do a decent job cleaning up the yard. They even took some sticks and some old stumps (not attached to the ground) that I didn't know what to do with out of the yard for me. They also cut down another existing stump (attached to the ground) to make it more flush, without me having to ask.

In April,
Baltimore Tree Services Provider Name Locked
came to my house to check out the job. He explained there were couple of options for the job. When he sent the estimate, it reflected exactly what we discussed. I took a few weeks to decide what to do then scheduled the work for

29th. On the scheduled date, the
Baltimore Tree Services Provider Name Locked
crew arrived on time and started work right away. There were definitely enough members on the crew to get this job done (and done right!). The trees (4) on my neighbor's property are pretty big and needed major trimming. Several large branches from one tree were hanging over my house. The
Baltimore Tree Services Provider Name Locked
team was able to safely remove the branches without damaging my property. For this job, there was one tree on my property which needed to be removed. It was positioned behind my shed and next to the back fence. They were able to take that tree down without any issues. When the job was completed, my property was totally cleaned-up and free of debris. Every aspect of this experience was easy for me. What a professional group of people -from

My holly tree was about 55 years old and taller than my house. About every two years, I would need to have the branches trimmed away from the house, as the tree would scrape against the roof, soffits, and side of the house. I originally planned to have it trimmed again, but had been trying to make a decision about cutting it down, because it was way too big for the space. I asked
Baltimore Tree Services Provider Name Locked
, the estimator for

and Tree what he would do if it were his. He said it was time to remove it. He showed me where insects had invaded the places left by previous limb removal, and the tree was too big and too misshapen. I agreed, and decided to remove the tree. The company came when they said they would, and started to work quickly and efficiently. It was a very narrow space in which to work, and they could not come in with a crane, so one of the guys had to climb the tree and cut and lower the branches by hand, a huge amount of work because the limbs were so big and heavy. The guys did what they could to avoid hurting my plants while dragging the limbs out to the

to the chipper. Then they ground the stump, and generally cleaned up well. One of the guys,

, spent additional time with me after the job to discuss my questions about my other trees, and the possibility of planting a new tree near to where the old tree had stood. He had some very good suggestions, and I am sure I will hire them when it becomes time to plant the new tree. I could not be happier with the job, the price, and the responsiveness of this company.

Company responded to my request for an estimate very quickly. They returned in less than two weeks to perform the job as promised. Workers were professional and diligent and cleaned up loose debris. They made sure i was satisfied with their work before they left. Very happy with the results.

When I first called to schedule, I was told that i would receive a call-back on a specific date, to schedule an estimate for the following week. 2 weeks later, i called again, was given a tentative date for the estimate, and was told I would receive a confirmation call, which i never received. i contacted them again several weeks later and was able to schedule the estimate. overall, my issue was less about how long it took, and more the lack of communication and follow-up. I would have preferred to been told up front that it would take a while, and then been called when they said they would.
on the day of the estimate, the owner called to ask if he could come a little later, which worked out, and he arrived at the new time for the estimate. after the scheduling, they were able to move up the date of the work, which was much appreciated.
on the day of the work, they arrived early, the work was done very well, and completed quickly. the branches were cut back enough to avoid issues for several years, and the cleanup was thorough.

Rod came out and removed a 50+ year old azalea bush. I had hoped that he could remove the roots, but my "one" bush turned out to be 4 bushes and he couldn't pull them out. Due to my water and sewer lines, digging them out wasn't an option, either. Because of this, Rod cut the bushes to ground level, so I could plant around them.

Tree Experts are exactly that...EXPERTS! We had three extremely tall trees in the woods behind our house. They were dead and we worried about them falling on our house. A crew of four arrived early and immediately got to work. Once we saw the skills and talents involved in this endeavor, we realized that the fees charged were certainly well earned! The men were extremely careful to keep each other safe but also allowed no damage to our property. After six hours of hard work, the crew left with great and positive attitudes. We highly recommend them and will certainly use them in the future!
